Accommodation
At The Kitesurf Lodge, you can choose from a variety of accommodation options designed to suit your style and budget. Stay in cozy shared rooms or dorms, perfect for meeting fellow travelers, or opt for a private room if you prefer a bit more privacy. All accommodations are light, bright, and airy, with everything you need for a comfortable night's sleep.
Relax in the sun next to The Kitesurf Lodge's large swimming pool, or enjoy the communal garden space before heading to the beach! After a day of kitesurfing, unwind in the comfortable living room, grab a drink at the bar, or join one of The Kitesurf Lodge's legendary BBQ nights. It’s the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation!
The lodge consists of five double/twin rooms, plus two dorms (six beds and four beds). There is a large open-plan living room and kitchen for guest use, as well as a full-size ping pong table for the competitive among you. The Kitesurf Lodge has three shared full bathrooms, one on each floor.

- Day 1: arrival and check-in at the lodge. Relax, meet the team, and get settled in.
- Day 2: first day of kitesurf lessons, according to the wind and weather conditions
- Day 3: second day of kitesurf lessons, according to the wind and weather conditions
- Day 4: third day of kitesurf lessons, according to the wind and weather conditions
- Day 5: fourth day of kitesurf lessons, according to the wind and weather conditions
- Day 6: Check out and departure
It's important to note: that kitesurfing is largely dictated by wind and weather conditions, The Kitesurf Lodge remains flexible and will be switching the days and times of the kitesurf sessions according to the conditions. They'll finalize planning for the kite sessions the previous evening at the lodge, and make sure everyone is in the loop! If the weather is not suitable for kitesurfing, they will substitute kite hours for wing foil, surf, or SUP hours.
The Kitesurf Lodge run their lessons on a semi private basis if they have another person who they can match you with (for experience and weight/height). If they don't have anyone to match you with, they'll convert your 9 hour semi private to a 4.5h private 1:1 lesson.

Julien Brout
Kiting since 2002 and teaching since 2003, Julien has travelled the world kitesurfing. Co-owner of Source Kiteboarding in Vietnam, as well as The Kitesurf Lodge in Portugal, Julien is a hospitality pro and has plenty of stories to share!
Location
The Kitesurf Lodge is perfectly situated, just 200m from the pristine Lagoa de Óbidos and its' beautiful sandy beaches. The lodge is surrounded by nature, nestled in lush greenery in a quiet residential area just steps from local restaurants and cafés. The lagoon itself is a haven for wildlife, with many species of birds to be spotted at different times of the year.
Nearby you will find the surf spots of Baleal and Peniche, and the charming medieval village of Óbidos with its famous castle and walls. Adventure lovers will be in heaven, with beach walks, bicycle trails, and epic surf breaks on the doorstep as well as the butter flat kite conditions beckoning to you!
Food
You will start your day off the right way with a hearty and healthy homemade breakfast each morning. The Kitesurf Lodge serves savory and sweet options, as well as fruit, pastries, and more. Coffee and tea are provided at breakfast for free and available for purchase throughout the day.
The Kitesurf Lodge hosts weekly BBQ or pizza nights, available at an additional cost, where everyone gathers to connect and enjoy!
The lodge is a short (<5 min) walk from four local restaurants and cafés, catering to different budgets and tastes. You can sample fresh local seafood, Portuguese specialties, and a variety of delicious food options right on your doorstep. Keep in mind that during the summer months, reservations may be required for evening meals at local eateries!
The Kitesurf Lodge also offers a shared kitchen for guests who feel like cooking up a storm. There is a small convenience store at the lagoon for the basics, but food shopping is recommended in Caldas da Rainha, Óbidos, or Peniche, where you will find supermarkets, fresh produce markets, and more.

Spa treatments
There are two hotels with spa facilities open to the public within a 10 minute drive of the lodge. The Royal Óbidos and The Marriott Praia D'el Rey both feature sauna, steam, gym and massage facilities. There are indoor and outdoor pools at both hotels that are included in the access price for the spa facilities.

Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). Airport pick-up is available - the price is fixed per car, regardless of the number of people (1-4).
Arrival by bus
Public transport instructions: From Lisbon airport take a taxi to Lisbon Bus station Campo Grande. This trip will take you around 15 min depending on the traffic and ask the taxi driver to drop off you at the bus stop “Rápida Verde” (direction Óbidos). The bus to Óbidos will approximately take 1 hour And from Obidos, it’s easiest to take a taxi/Uber/Bolt to our lodge (at Bom Sucesso beach).

Cancellation Policy
- A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
- The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
- The rest of the payment should be paid 14 days before arrival.
