Aquaholics Zanzibar

Ik kwam helemaal alleen naar Zanzibar, maar heb me geen moment alleen gevoeld. De surfinstructors zijn mega lief en willen je met alles helpen om zo goed mogelijk te leren surfen. Na de 5 lessen voelde ik me zeker vertrouwd in het water en met de golven! Ook de grote golven :) Het was echt een geweldige ervaring! Elke les leerde ik ook weer nieuwe mensen kennen wat ook heel leuk was. Ik kom ooit zeker terug

Unfassbar. Wir waren eine Woche mit Aquaholics surfen. Dir Kommunikation mit Steffi war super unkompliziert, freundlich und hat keine Fragen offen gelassen. Unsere Coaches Ryan, Juma und Carolina haben die Woche zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht. Uns, als absoluten Neulingen haben die 3 die Faszination Surfen theoretisch und praktisch mit jeder Menge Humor und Props nahe gebracht. Die Gruppengröße ist absolut überschaubar und die Coaches können individuell auf jeden Teilnehmer und sein Level eingehen. Die Trips sind top organisiert und Ryan schafft es mit seiner Art jeden mitzureissen. Ein absolutes Unikat!

Everyone was super friendly, both at the hostel and the Aquaholics. I could reschedule lessons without a problem.

Both Ryan & Jess gave me really good tips on how to improve my surfing. I gained more confidence in reading waves and what to develop further.

I was a little hesitant to booking a bed in a shared dorm (I’m 31 and value a good night’s sleep) but Ebb&Flow is so calm and met many travelers my age there too! 5/5 would recommend booking the surf package.

The best part was the place, although there is a lot of trash around that should be cleaned up, but I understand that this is something related to the community.

I just spent 8 incredible days at Aquaholics surf and kite surf school in Zanzibar, and this place exceeded all my expectations! As a solo traveler, I was welcomed like family from day one.

My kitesurfing skills improved dramatically thanks to Ismael’s excellent instruction. He was patient, encouraging, and full of great tips.

As a complete surfing beginner, I was nervous to try, but Ryan made it such a positive experience that I actually caught some waves! This might be the start of a new passion.

The morning yoga sessions were the perfect way to start the day - exactly what my body needed after all the water sports activities.

But what really made this place special was the staff. Everyone was genuinely welcoming with big smiles and interesting conversations. They didn’t just teach me water sports; they made me feel truly at home in Zanzibar.

For solo travelers, don’t hesitate - you’ll feel welcomed and included with so many activities and such a great community atmosphere.

The team was fantastic, and the location and organization were outstanding, exceeding my expectations. The surprise snack was not only delicious but a thoughtful touch that added to the experience. We had perfect conditions throughout, making the entire event even more enjoyable. Overall, I had an unforgettable experience and would love to return in the future !

My friend and I did the 8 day surf trip with Aquaholics and truly had the time of our lives. You immediately felt part of a family, walking into the shop everyone welcomed you with warm smiles and good vibes. Everything was super clear how the days would run, the instruction and guidance was 10/10 and they really cared about your personal progress and enjoyment. We were intermediate surfers coming into this trip, and was pleasantly surprised by the waves and really felt that we improved on our technique throughout the week. We even had the opportunity to head to a bigger break on our last few days and those were the best days, connecting with more Aquaholics members and really improving on our technique.

Pip one of the lovely workers, was at our hostel some mornings really making the place feel like home. She was excellent at organising activities, showing us local places for food and creating a welcoming and fun environment to come home to.

I could not recommend this team/trip more, as two 21 year old we felt super welcomed, safe and enjoyed every minute.

My stay at Aquaholics has been an amazing experience that I can recommend to everyone. The team is extremely welcoming, fun and friendly- you’ll feel comfortable from the first moment!

The instructors are highly talented, knowledgeable and super kind and patient. Really had some great wave surf sessions with Ruben, Ryan and Juma- thx for giving me a paddle break once in a while and pushing me 😀

Also some fun kite introduction sessions with Modesta and Bayu.

Zanzibar is a beautiful place to be with beautiful people around. Loved my stay.

I am 73 and wanted to relive some youthful experiences. Steffi organized everything exquisitely with no hassles.

The instructors Travis and Ryan were professional and respectful. Juliette took great photos giving great memories to take with me.

I loved the waves. Not too big but very rideable. The emphasis was on safety and having fun.

I had a really good time with aquaholics. Paje is a great place to stay and the accommodation is near the beach. The surf instructors were all great. It's definitely worth a recommendation.

Une super équipe toujours présente pour te trouver des solutions s’il manque des vagues ou du vent, et ce toujours avec un super sourire. Attentif, enfin que du positif pour moi.

Loved the people first and foremost. I travelled alone and from day one I felt like part of the family. People were kind and helpful, especially Jake, Willow, DeDe and Beck. They gave more than enough information as and when I needed it. It is paradise island and the people are truly special. Jake helped me out when I wanted to swap hotels with no drama and also got me a discount. When I wanted a bike Jake also arranged all that. The surf guides Willow and Becks had great attitudes but most of all were fun and playful. DeDe gave me my first scuba diving lesson and he was the best teacher ever!.he had a calming effect and was patient and lovely. Now I want to get my Padi all because of him. So a big thank you to the team and the girl with the bad leg (sorry forgot name) all of you gave me the best holiday a girl could wish for . The island is beautiful , safe and the locals are the most hospitable. The night life is amazing and I've never seen such great dancers , I danced the nights away. The food on the island is delicious and a.great variety..

The surf trainers were very professional, fun and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Amazing atmosphere

I had a really good last week! It was just amazing everything!

Nice people, beautiful place, good surfing, sweeet! I have been so lucky too with my dorm mates! I made super friends!

The dorm and commun places are really well decorated, you fell like at home! Really clean, nice design and close to the beach by walk! Aquaholics office , with warm people everytime aware to help you as much they can. From the first minute, they have been taking care of me! The surf spot is beautiful, it is nice to go by boat! and the snack with chapati es yummy! Surf instructor G. , Amy and Gabriel, Hussein and Musa super sweet and good mood!

What else! The breakfast is SO good, especially the avocalicious! yummy too! There are some good restaurant also close to the surf camp. I havedefinitely planned to come back!

We liked the location and the athmosphere there, welcoming, friendly and relaxed.

And we really liked Jake, our instructor, always a smile on his face, helpful, funny and patient!!!

Very close to the beach, very good surf instructors, very friendly staff around the apartments, good organisation regarding airport transportation. Really nice aquaholics beach area to chill after surf lessons.

Surf lessons were most of the time in small groups, the instructors pushed you to catch the wave and gave you feedback on almost every wave. Really enjoyed hanging out with the staff from aquaholics after the surf lessons =)
