During this program, you will be accommodated in apartments close to the center. It has free parking and it is good that it is close because, around the surf beach, there is a problem with parking. The terrace of the apartments has no sea views but it allows guests to enjoy a refreshing beverage on the hot summer evenings. It is located in a very relaxed and quiet area. The apartment has a nice garden around it with a barbecue area that you can use. Each apartment has a kitchen, toilet, and a nice terrace. It also comes with free Wi-Fi and an air-conditioner.

Program

Viganj is one of the most well-known windsurfing and kitesurfing spots in Croatia because it is situated in the middle of a narrow channel between Peljesac and Korcula. The wind tends to blow twice as fast as it usually does in the Adriatic, providing ideal conditions for kitesurfing and for learning how to kitesurf.

Getting to know your equipment (and how to rigg it)

The windsurf course lasts two hours every day for four days, mainly in the morning as the wind is lighter and easier to start. This course lasts eight hours. In the first lesson, the whole theory, which takes place on the simulator (30 minutes), is carried out. The rest of the time the participants spend with the teacher on the water.

In the theoretical part, you will deal with topics such as wind directions, sail positions, turning maneuvers, and courses to the wind. After this course, you will be able to surf independently and come back to your starting point. After the course, you will get a VDWS license. After the second day's lesson, you can use the equipment for four days of unlimited hours.

The first option is to come by bus, but the bus schedule changes, and in addition, summer usually has more lines. There is a daily bus going at 9:00 a.m. and at 5:00 p.m. from Dubrovnik to the town of Orebic (seven kilometers). In Orebic, a taxi can be arranged and costs 90 HRK. From Dubrovnik to Orebic is a two-hour and 20-minute drive by bus. Back it goes at 4:00 p.m. from Orebic. The second option is to take the fast ferry (catamaran) from Dubrovnik to Korcula. There are two local companies. The first one is JADROLINIJA. It goes at 7:00 a.m. from Dubrovnik to Korcula and back from Korcula to Dubrovnik at 7:25 p.m. The second company of fast ferry is KRILO JET. It goes at 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Dubrovnik and arrives at 5:45 p.m. and at 6:25 p.m. in Korcula. Back it goes at 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The price for a one-way ticket is 20 EUR per person.

The first option is by ferry - the best and cheapest. There are two different fast ferries. The first fast ferry company is KRILO JET. It departs at 7:30 a.m., 7:40 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. from Split to Korčula. You will arrive in Korcula in two hours and 20 minutes to three hours. The ticket cost one way 20 EUR. It depends on which time you go. In Korcula, a free pickup can be arranged with a boat if the drivers are free or a taxi boat can be sent for you (28 EUR). From Korcula to Split, it goes back at 6:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 5:55 p.m., and 6:35 p.m. The second boat ferry company is JADROLINIJA. It goes from Split at 3:30 p.m. from Split to Korcula, in Korcula it arrives at 7:10 p.m. Only one time daily. Back it goes at 9:15 a.m. and arrives at 12:55 p.m. This is a really nice way to come to the location as there are no big waves at that time so you should not be seasick. The second option is by bus but it goes at 1:00 a.m. in the morning to Orebic and arrives at 6:00 a.m. in the morning. Then a taxi brings you to Viganj, which is around seven kilometers and costs around 15 EUR.
