The Surf House
The Surf House is an adapted townhouse in the heart of beautiful, exciting Lagos. The house is social, full of features, and has cool decor. The property offers comfortable rooms, large modern kitchen, daily maid service, large lounge, free Wi-Fi, digital entertainment system, stylish decor, boardroom, and two huge terraces with barbecue area.
Traditional Pensäo
Traditional Pensäo is 90 seconds away from The Surf House in a centrally located, quiet street. The property offers private rooms, en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi, daily maid service, and use of all Surf House facilities.
Program
Normally, everyone will be eating breakfast from around 09:00 and the first trucks will start to drive out from 09:15. The Surf Experience aims to get classes two times a day for two hours, each on either side of lunch. Surf Safari is a little more ad-lib. The usual meeting time is around 19:30 for you all to go for dinner. Please take note this program is designed for all levels of surfers from 16 years old onward.
Surfari
The Surf Experience will have selected weeks on either side of summer whereby one Land Rover heads out with only one target - score the best waves possible. Although The Surf Experience does its very best to separate surfers, intermediates, and beginners whenever possible throughout the year, sometimes it becomes a little challenging. So, these weeks are created for you as a surfer to aim for. As a guarantee, you will have a dedicated driver and guide to go surf with every day of a specific week.
There is no extra charge for these weeks and loaded separately with the same amazing trademark surf ex-lunches. You will be filmed at least three times over the week and can view it at your leisure after the day. Basic pointers are given and also a great way for you to grade yourselves on the iAM Bands scales. This could bring you to the ultimate week The Surf Experience has created alongside Lamiroy Surf Academy at the end of the year. On request, The Surf Experience can bring a professional surf photographer on one of the days, which is highly recommended.
The Surf Experience regards both Igor and Jenny as their friends and they are lucky to have two such distinguished Yoga masters working with them.
They run very specific yoga weeks for healing, classic, and private retreats but in true Surf Experience style they have requested a more relaxed style to appeal to both first-timers and experienced - bringing all the crew together in a different environment. This is also adapted to the end-of-the-day work down after a great day of surfing. Igor himself surfs and knows the benefits and vibe for all you Surf Exxers.
You can enjoy the free yoga weeks at The Surf Experience. You'll participate in group yoga lessons in the town when you return from surfing in the afternoon at no additional cost. Here are the dates for 2025:

Mark Windsor was from Cornwall and he came to Lagos on a surf holiday and came again a few times and decided the sun and heat are better than the clouds and cold.
Bella Shannon
Bella - has been through the full UNIVERSITY of Surf Experience. Starting out as a guest, joining the hosting team and then becoming a fully qualified coach. Super addictive and energetic soul will have you smiling all day long !!
Rowan Tipping
Rowan has 10 Years of coaching experience which brings The Surf Experience one of the great all rounders. He is super calm and attentive. Always available.
Rui
Rui is a surf instructor for The Surf Experience.
Jorge Bicho
Jorge is a local legend with insane amounts of local knowledge. He is one of the nicest guys you will know.

The Surf Experience is located in the beautiful old Portuguese town of Lagos, Portugal with a lot to offer. The Surf House is located in the heart of town, so whatever you are in the mood for is just outside your door. You can enjoy delicious food served in a massive choice of restaurants, great nightlife until late in the many bars and clubs, chill and get a tan on the beautiful beaches, or relax and watch the world go by in the cafes.

The Surf Experience has always had a massive emphasis on food, but Rachel Snow has taken this to a stratospheric level. The Surf Experience and you, as a guest, are super lucky to have her on board. She has real dedication to create the food, find local produce, local support, plus nutrition. The everyday lunches and surf house dinners twice a week are beyond restaurant level and all part of any surf experience. People often ask about the most important thing a surf camp can provide. The answer is food.
The Surf Experience can cater for special diets upon request. Veggies and vegans can be catered for lunch. The Surf Experience also does their best to work around food allergies, such as nuts or seafood, etc. Again, please remind The Surf Experience when you get here. Please remind about this on arrival and be sure to have any emergency treatments on hand if you ingest the wrong food type. If you want specialty foods like soya / almond milk, gluten-free bread, etc., there is a mini market close by that has a section selling those kinds of items.

Faro Airport

Arrival by airplane
Please book your flight to arrive at Faro Airport (FAO).
Due to the current condition of Faro Airport (FAO), there is a new meeting place. This year, The Surf Experience would like to get you to the beach as soon as possible so upon arrival, look out for Ross as you come through arrivals. He will be holding a 'Surf Experience' sign next to the bathrooms. The Surf Experience normally can anticipate any early or late arrivals, but in any eventuality, please wait around in that area.
For a group of four or more, you can book via the Lagos Portugal website. When booking through the Lagos website, four people can be transferred for just 78 EUR. That is just 19.50 EUR each. With even more people, the price comes right down to 10 EUR each.
Arrival by bus
You can book a minibus transfer with Resorthoppa. The transfers vary in price throughout the year. Their online booking system will give you a quote.
Arrival by train
This is the cheapest option with the train, fair at 7 EUR each way. You will need a taxi from the airport to the train station at about 5-6 EUR.
Arrival by taxi
You can catch a taxi directly from Faro Airport (FAO). But at 110 - 140 EUR, this is not a cheap option. Alternatively, you can use your Uber app to get a ride. It will be a bunch cheaper than a taxi.
Cancellation Policy
- A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
- The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
- The rest of the payment should be paid 7 days before arrival.
