Surfing
Galicia is undoubtedly the place with the highest probability of waves on Europe’s mainland. The region in the immediate vicinity of the surf house, with its miles of sandy beaches and coves, is still untouched by mass tourism and offers ideal conditions for surfing. Overcrowded lineups do not exist here. Due to the varied coastline and numerous beaches with different expositions, you will almost always find the perfect place for surfing, independent of waves and wind conditions.
Whether beginner or advanced, there are a variety of waves for every level. Within a 15-minute drive, you can reach all of the best surf spots in the area. They offer you a wide swell window, as well as numerous wind-protected alternatives and various alternatives for big or too-small waves, depending on surfing level and taste. These include Vilar, Ladeira, Balieiros, and two house spots, As Furnas and Rio Sierra. Most of them break on the sand.
Surf lessons
You drive with the surf instructors from the surf house to one of the surrounding surf spots, where you get between three and four hours of surf lessons per day. The surf house is surrounded by more than 10 different spots, all offering different wind and swell directions, wave sizes, and tides. They always align their surf lessons with the current weather and wave conditions.
Adapted to the daily forecast, spot guiding is included in the class to guarantee you the best possible surf for the day. Another way to improve your style and technique in surf lessons is through video analysis. It helps you to get to know your movements and habits while surfing better and to surf more consciously afterwards. In order to recognize mistakes and correct them, exercises in the water as well as on land are shown after the video analysis. Two analyses and one theory class are also incl. in the surf course.

Surfskate lessons
With surfskating, you can significantly improve your surfing technique in just a short time. The surfskate lessons usually take place in the afternoon after the surf courses. You can work on your surfing technique for one hour per day in a nearby sports facility. The surfskate lessons will help you improve your balance, coordination, and style when surfing in the ocean. It offers you the perfect opportunity to work on new maneuvers and train you how to build up speed in a wave.
Yoga
In recent years, more and more surfers have discovered yoga for themselves. For surfing, you need both strengths, endurance, balance, and coordination—properties that are trained in yoga practice. More flexibility and better body voltage can significantly improve your surfing. In addition, muscles and tendons are stretched and relaxed during yoga, and you are therefore automatically protected against injuries. The yoga classes, mainly Vinyasa yoga, take place in small groups on a beautiful and quiet yoga platform under the trees in the garden
They place much importance on the fact that their yoga teacher adapts the lesson’s level to the individual abilities of the participants and respects their preferences and limits. No matter how experienced you are, yoga classes are always designed so that you can join in at your own pace. Let go, relieve tension, reduce stress, and look forward to ending the evening recovering and relaxing.

Location
Surf House As Furnas is located in the northern Spanish region of Galicia, in the small village of Xuño, on the western Atlantic coast. The place Xuño, with its nearly 1000 inhabitants, is located midway between the Atlantic and the mountain range of Barbanza, just a 10-minute walk to the two beaches As Furnas and Rio Sierra. The people are friendly and the area around the surf house is completely untouched by mass tourism. In the village, there is a small supermarket, a pharmacy, three restaurants with menus offering plenty of the specialties of the area, and several bars where locals exchange their daily news and have a cerveza.
A special highlight and always worth a visit are the two beach bars in As Furnas. They are situated directly on the dunes, overlooking the entire beach and, of course, the surfers in the water. At noon and afternoon, they offer with their tortillas and other delicious plates the much-needed energy boost after a long surfing day. During sunset, they become the perfect place to chill and enjoy the view and maybe a cocktail or two.
In addition to the ideal conditions for surfing, the area around the surf house also offers a wide range of activities and excursions. Whether in the mountains or on the beach, you will find a variety of routes for both cycling and hiking. Interesting excursion destinations include the impressive Celtic settlement in the neighborhood of Castro de Baroña, the Galician capital and famous place of pilgrimage Santiago de Compostela, the natural pools of river “Pedras” and numerous small fishing towns in the area.
