Program
Welcome to the small and comfortable surf house in the northern Spanish region of Galicia. It is surrounded by a mountain range, which provides a unique view of the Atlantic coast. Have a vacation in one of the most beautiful surf regions on the north coast of Spain - Surf House As Furnas is offering you this retreat where you can enjoy your days with yoga, surfing, and other activities to create and embrace new unforgettable memories.
Surfing
Galicia is undoubtedly the place with the highest wave probability on the European mainland. The region that has been spared from mass tourism near the surf house, with its kilometers of sandy beaches and small bays, offers ideal conditions for surfing. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, you will find the right conditions for every level and almost every forecast. There are no crowded lineups here.
Surf courses
The surf courses take place only in small groups. So they can respond individually to their participants and you are guaranteed a quick learning success in a pleasant atmosphere. They offer surf courses for advanced, intermediate, and beginner. A surf instructor supervises a maximum of seven surf students. If you already have experience of surfing, this is important information for them. They want to help you pick up where you left off last time.
Their surf instructors are professionally trained (licensed by the International Surf Association ISA; the Galician Surf Federation FGS and the Spanish Surf Federation FES) and have many years of experience in teaching. You drive from the surf house with them to one of the surrounding surf spots, where you get between three and four hours of surfing lessons per day. Their complete surf material is new and they can offer their advanced surf guests both hardboards and longboards. The surf course is only for guests of the Surf House.
The surrounding beaches offer a variety of surfing opportunities. They are between just one and a maximum of 15 minutes away. They include beaches such as Vilar, Ladeira, Corrubedo, As Furnas, and Rio Sierra. From the beginning of May to the end of October, the water temperature is between 18 and 20 degrees. They recommend a 4/3-millimeter neoprene for surfing and other water sports. You can book additional surf lessons on-site at any time and change the level of the surf course.
Yoga
In recent years, more and more surfers have discovered yoga for themselves. When surfing, you need strength, endurance, as well as balance and coordination; qualities that are trained in yoga practice. More flexibility and better body tension can significantly improve your surfing. In addition, muscles and tendons are stretched and loosened during yoga, and you automatically protect yourself from injuries.
The yoga classes, mainly Vinyasa yoga, always take place by the surf courses and in small groups, on their beautiful and quiet yoga platform under the trees in the garden. It is very important to them that their yoga teacher (trained in 200 hours Vinyasa or Ashtanga yoga teacher in Rishikesh, India) responds individually to each course participant and takes their abilities, wishes, and limits into account.
