Come and learn how to kitesurf with Surf Connect Watersports Centre and their qualified and professional instructors. Kiteboarding is a surface water sport combining aspects of wakeboarding, snowboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, skateboarding, and gymnastics into one extreme sport. You do not need much strength at all to be able to kitesurf, as you are hooked into the harness of the wind all the time.
You will be staying at Brighton Hotel or at a local bed and breakfast venue depending on the availability of the hotel. Brighton Hotel offers freshly renovated accommodation for the budget minded. It has a free parking on site and location is five minutes to Sandgate Train Station and Bus Services, five minutes to Bruce Highway, 10 minutes to the Boondall Entertainment Center, 15 minutes to airport and 20 minutes to Brisbane.
Kitesurfing or kiteboarding is one extreme surface watersport that is really fun and exciting to learn! A kiteboarder harnesses the power of the wind with a large controllable power kite to be propelled across the water on a kiteboard similar to a wakeboard or a small surfboard, with or without foot straps or bindings.
Just like paragliding or flying, the learning process of kitesurfing or kiteboarding is quite involved, and normally takes around six to eight hours of one on one tuition, before you become competent enough to take your own kite out to continue the practice.
In this camp, you will learn all the basic skills from safety, trainer kite, set up, onto flying the big kite, doing body dragging, downwind. Once you can body drag downwind and upwind without crashing the kite, learned the relaunching and self-rescue, you are then ready for the board!
During your stay, you will receive one-on-one lessons rather than group lessons. Surf Connect Watersports Centre is allowed to take up to 20 people per group, related or not. Plus they have over 20 staff so the team can run 20 private groups at the same time if required.
No meals are included in the package.
