During this retreat, you can stay in a shared dorm, private room with shared bathroom, or private room with private bathroom, at the Pura Vida Surf Camp. They have a new-built house and apartments just 150 meters away from Playa Santa Teresa. The hostel is beautifully decorated, has a nice swimming pool area. It is located just by the main road with stores, bars, and restaurants walking distance away.
They also offer many different activities on and off the site. All rooms at have air-conditioning and good Wi-Fi connection. The size of the dorm you will be placed in depends on availability.
Program
Pura Vida Surfers' surf camp will give a solid foundation for anyone who wants to become a better surfer. It does not matter if you are a complete beginner or an experienced surfer; all levels are welcome. They will teach you everything you need to know: paddling, standing up, dropping into waves, riding across waves, surf etiquette, board designs, and wave types.
Pura Vida Surfers' instructors will be by your side all the time to make you feel safe in the water. They will coach you, give you feedback, correct your mistakes, and help you improve your skills with every wave you try. The lessons are scheduled according to ocean conditions. The surf camps can be customized. For example, you can add an extra day of surfing, a rest day, etc. Please send an inquiry to Pura Vida Surfers with your request!

This retreat and surf camp will take place in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Santa Teresa is a beautiful beach town that many people return to. This is a perfect place to connect with nature and also with yourself. Despite being a small town, it is still for everyone. Whether you want to come here for surfing, yoga, with your partner, family, or friends, Santa Teresa is the destination. It is a friendly place with a mix of Ticos and internationals.
Santa Teresa is located in the southern part of the Nicoya Peninsula. With its many and long beaches, it is an ideal place for those who love surfing or want to learn to surf. Santa Teresa also has many different yoga studios, as well as activities, in its biodiverse and beautiful nature. Some of the activities that one can do include horseback riding, zip-lining, ATV tours, visit national parks, and fishing, just to name a few.

Arrival by airplane
Please book your flight to arrive at Tambor Airport (TMU). Transfer from and to the airport is not included. When you book your flight to Santa Teresa, you will first land at Tambor Airport (TMU) and then take a shuttle to Santa Teresa (the shuttle takes about 45 minutes). The land transportation fee is included in the airfare. Nature Air operates flights from San José to Tambor or Santa Teresa. To book your flight, simply go to their website and choose San José in the ‘from’-dropdown list, and Santa Teresa or Mal País in the ‘to’-dropdown list.
Arrival by bus
There is a direct bus from San José to Santa Teresa leaving daily from Terminal 7-10 at 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The ferry ticket is included in the price and you do not have to change buses when you get on or get off the ferry. However, you might have to change buses in Cóbano, which is an hour's drive from the ferry. Normally, the bus driver tells you to change bus, but if you are unsure, just ask the driver.
Arrival by shuttle
Shuttles leaves daily from San José to Santa Teresa. If you stay overnight in San José, the hotel is normally able to help you arrange the transportation. You can also contact your hosts ahead of time and they will help you.
Cancellation Policy
- A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
- The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
- The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
