Luhu Surf Camp is equipped with shared rooms and twin rooms. There are two accommodation choices at Luhu Surf Camp. You can choose to stay in the Seabass twin room or in the Seabird shared room for six persons. For those who want more privacy during their stay, Luhu Surf Camp has houses available in the area that are fully furnished and equipped.
Program
Luhu Surf Camp has a program of seven nights with five surf lessons followed by a full day of free surfing. The 5 days of surfing lessons will ensure guests the best surfing conditions possible in this region. This will improve your skills and give you the confidence that will allow you to surf all over the world. Luhu Surf Camp knows all of the waves in the area and they understand how they work, so you could not find yourself in better hands.
The team is relaxed, fun, and passionate about what they do. Luhu Surf Camp's main goal is to ensure you spend the most time in the water and improve your surfing skills. Their surf lessons are always in small groups by level, Lu – Beginners, Hu – Intermediate and LuHu – Advanced. Each surf instructor works with a maximum of 7 people.
All the surf equipment used in their surf lessons and for your free surf time is new and premium quality, soft boards are from Ocean and Earth and Flowt, Epoxy surf boards are from NSP and wetsuits from Deeply and Ripcurl.

Hugo Alves Ferreira
Hugo is a local surfer who began regular surfing at the age of 13. In his student days on his free time, Hugo was always on the water or out looking for waves. After working for a few big companies in health and safety, he decided to follow his passion of teaching surfing. So, he quit the nine-to-five job and began giving lessons full time in a local surf school. Here, Hugo developed the skills to teach surfing and later graduated as a certified surf instructor. Hugo's local knowledge, surf, and teaching experience will be perfect for you to start surfing or to further develop your skills.
Luis Monteiro
Luis is a 24-year-old certified instructor. He is a local surfer and surfing has always been a large part of his life. Luis used to compete, however, his passion is free surfing and traveling around the world with his surfboard to discover new and exciting waves. Luis has a university degree in tourism. His dream was to open a surf camp to share with others this fantastic lifestyle. With Hugo, they share a deep knowledge of the many surf spots in the north of Portugal. They have spent many years traveling together in search of the perfect swell and wind conditions for each beach.
Location
Luhu Surf Camp is in the south of the village of Apúlia, Portugal, a 30-minute drive from the Porto Airport (OPO) and 40 minutes from the center of Porto. The camp is located right in front of the beach, in the North Coast Natural Park, a beautiful coastline with plenty of surf spots with exceptional waves that stretches over 16 kilometers.
The North Coast Natural Park is one of the 13 natural parks of Portugal. It encompasses the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the municipality of Esposende, half an hour by car north from the city of Porto. The park was created to preserve the dunes and the wildlife between the mouth of the river Neiva and the Village of Apulia - where Luhu Surf Camp is located.
This piece of coastline is formed by extensive sandy beaches, dunes, and pinewoods with many surf spots. Most of the spots are beach breaks and some point breaks as well as reef breaks.
The area is also known for its great food. Most of the restaurants here continue to offer the best of the traditional Portuguese cuisine with several customary dishes of the region made of fresh fish, meat, and delicious pastries - at a very friendly price.

Food
You will be served daily breakfast and a welcome barbecue dinner during the surf camp included in the price. Lunches and other dinners are not included, but you may self-cater in a fully equipped kitchen that you can use.
However, Luhu Surf Camp can provide you with packed lunches at an additional cost of 3 EUR and dinners at an additional cost of 10 EUR per meal.
Apúlia area is known for great food. Most of the restaurants here continue to offer the best of the traditional Portuguese cuisine with several customary dishes of the region made of fresh fish, meat, and delicious pastries at a very friendly price.

Arrival by bus
Get the metro to Póvoa de Varzim and then the bus to the city of Viana do Castelo. Get off the bus in the Village of Fão, in front of the hospital and Luhu Surf Camp will pick you up there. Tell the driver where you want to get off.
Arrival by train
You can take the metro from Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) or from the city of Porto in the direction of Póvoa de Varzim. It costs 30 EUR, including the return trip.
Arrival by taxi
From Póvoa de Varzim to the surf camp, you can take an Uber or taxi for around 16 EUR.
Cancellation Policy
- A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
- The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
- The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
