Program
Enjoy Portugal’s windiest spot, offering perfect conditions with consistent winds and vast natural beaches. The program offers semi-private kiteboarding lessons with a maximum of two students per instructor,
or if you come alone, a private lesson: 1 instructor just for you! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider looking to improve, the lessons are tailored to your needs. Your instructor will guide you through the steps to quickly become an independent kiteboarder, tracking everyone's progress side by side.
Kite Voodoo prioritizes your comfort and safety, ensuring everyone has a fantastic time riding the kitesurf board and flying the kite. The goal is to advance your skills without any fear or hesitation.
During the semi-private lessons, you'll share the kite, allowing you to watch and learn from your friends or partners practicing. During the private lessons, you'll have the kite for yourself, giving you the opportunity to progress fast. All the necessary equipment, including a wetsuit, a vest, and a helmet, is included in your lesson. Kite Voodoo has got everything covered to make your kiteboarding experience enjoyable and worry-free!
After your sessions, relax in your double room accommodation, conveniently located near the spot, and Viana do Castelo, a charming traditional town where you can immerse yourself in the authentic and rich Portuguese culture. Accommodation is included for six nights, offering comfort and convenience near the spot. The program may be adjusted based on your arrival and departure times, as well as weather conditions. If conditions are not suitable for kitesurfing, an alternative activity will be offered.
Daily program
Suggested program (flexible, depending on your level and progression, and weather conditions)
Day 1: Arrival in Viana do Castelo
Self-check-in at the guesthouse and settle into your accommodation. Enjoy the first glimpses of this charming Portuguese town.
Day 2: First kitesurfing lesson (two hours)
Meet Kite Voodoo directly at the kite school on the spot and start your adventure. The lesson begins on the beach, with timing dependent on the weather. Equipped and ready, you will get an introduction to the spot and the gear before practicing kite handling on the sand.
Day 3: Second kitesurfing lesson (two hours)
In the afternoon, when the wind is at its best, you will join your second kitesurfing session. Dressed in your wetsuit, you will improve your kite control on the water. The challenge of the day? Body dragging downwind, upwind, and learn power strokes.
Day 4: Third kitesurfing lesson (two hours)
Based on your progress, today marks an exciting step: introducing a board. You will learn how to recover your board, water start, and first riding!
Day 5: Fourth kitesurfing lesson (two hours)
Your fourth lesson will focus on taking it to the next level. Depending on your progression, you will refine your speed control and learn to go upwind with the board.
Day 6: Free day or additional kitesurfing lessons
Extra lessons are available (optional). Or, enjoy a free day to explore Viana do Castelo, wander through charming cobblestone streets, visit historic churches, and admire the town’s picturesque fountains.
Day 7: Departure day
It is time to check out of your accommodation. Depending on your departure time, you can add extra kitesurfing lessons or rent equipment for surfing or stand-up paddleboarding before heading home.

Vania, the kitesurf and wing expert, is the best of the best in the discipline, she teaches with passion and enthusiast and she will get you flying in no time. Vania teaches in English, Spanish, German, Swedish, and French.

Just a quick hop north from the lively city of Porto, less than an hour’s drive from the international airport, you’ll stumble upon a kitesurfing paradise known as “Viana Do Castelo”.
The go-to spot is “Praia do Cabedelo, “ where you will have your lessons. This place is a total gem, with its vast sandy beach and epic riding conditions.
There’s a flatwater area with high tide loads of shallow water, making it a great place to learn. This is perfect for beginners and also ideal for advanced riders looking to nail some freestyle tricks and catch some massive air.
Also, for those who crave wave action, you’re in luck. Downwind from the flatwater area, there’s a cool, fun spot with small to medium waves.
Nortada wind, which dominates the Portuguese Atlantic coastline, delivers awesome wind conditions for six whole months (April to October). Thanks to the natural surroundings that create a localized thermic effect, this reliable wind gains strength, making Viana do Castelo the windiest spot in all of Portugal!
