Iguana Surf's newly expanded Boutique Surf Camp & Hotel now features a variety of elevated private suites, designed for guests who want to enjoy the surf experience with more comfort and privacy. Options include ocean-view loft suites, oceanfront balcony suites, and newly upgraded rooms. Their loft-style suites feature a downstairs sitting area with a spacious private bathroom and an upstairs bedroom with either two twin beds or one king bed. Some units also include a futon, perfect for an additional guest.
Other suite options offer private balconies with ocean views, creating the perfect space to relax after a day in the waves. These accommodations are ideal for couples, friends, or small groups traveling together who want a more elevated surf camp experience. Guests also enjoy access to their new rooftop ocean-view pool and lounge, along with all hotel amenities.
Shared Dorm
Traveling on a budget? No worries — Iguana Surf's got you covered. Their shared deluxe dorm offers a comfortable and social stay within their upgraded boutique surf camp. The dorm features an upstairs loft with 8 bunk-style beds, each with its own personal locker, and two full shared bathrooms downstairs. Designed for solo travelers and small groups, it’s the perfect option to meet people, share the surf experience, and enjoy Tamarindo’s vibrant atmosphere — all just steps from the beach. Guests also have full access to our rooftop ocean-view pool, common areas, and surf camp amenities.

The package includes four surf lessons in total, one surf trip, a photo package, and a video analysis session.
Private Groups
Please note this program can be offered as a private experience, meaning small groups will not be combined with strangers. Lodging and activities will be exclusively for your group.
Surf Lessons
Each surf lesson is 90 minutes long and customized by your professional, bilingual, ISA-certified instructor based on your skill level and fitness. Your first lesson begins with a beach introduction covering surfing basics, safety tips, and pop-up practice. Once ready, you’ll head into the water to apply what you’ve learned. Your instructor will be with you at all times, providing real-time feedback to help you build a strong foundation throughout the week.

Itinerary
- Day 1: Warm welcome to Pura Vida land — arrive, settle in, explore Tamarindo, and enjoy your first sunset from our rooftop pool.
- Day 2: The day starts with your first surf lesson — learning everything from scratch with your instructor, followed by time to relax and recharge.
- Day 3: Surf, explore, and soak in the energy of this little paradise.
- Day 4: Continue improving your surf skills while discovering Tamarindo’s beach, jungle surroundings, and vibrant town.
- Day 5: Surf, eat, relax, and repeat — with plenty of time to enjoy Tamarindo’s restaurants, nightlife, and laid-back lifestyle.
- Day 6: Time to shine in the water — surf session and photo shoot, capturing your best waves.
- Day 7: Surf trip day — explore a nearby paradise beach and experience new waves you’ll never forget.
- Day 8: Final surf session and a relaxing morning to enjoy the rooftop views one last time, followed by a warm farewell from the Iguana family.

Location
Iguana Surf Hotel is located in the heart of Tamarindo, so you can go walking to any place in town. The Hotel has a perfect location because it is just in front of the beach and a little away from the night clubs so you will not be affected by the noise and we are also in front of one of the best spots to surf "Pico" so it will be incredible to wake up, go down the stairs where your instructor will be waiting for you and just a few steps you will be in one of the best spots in Costa Rica.
