Things to do (optional)
What to see in Portugal?
The must-see list very much depends on the number of days you spend in the country. A must, Lisbon with its steep and narrow streets, and amazing architecture from Art Deco to Neo-Manueline. Certainly - Belém, a suburb of the capital with striking architecture, museums, and other tourist pleasures. Sintra, to the fullest, with the Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, and the city itself. Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, is also a must. Castle-town Obidos, the most beautiful northern capital, is in Porto. This is a must, even if you do not meet on the first visit, come back again and inspect.
What can be seen or made unique in Portugal?
For example, see the entire process of port wine production, from the vine to the dusty bottles of 1912 Vinho Porto Coleita. Take your first surf lessons: Portugal is the main point of the European surf movement, with the best schools and the tightest waves for every taste and level of training. Taste the pastél de Belém cake, the recipe of which was tenaciously kept by the Hieronymite monks, and since 1837, by the owners of the Pastéis de Belém cafe.
Watch the sunset at the westernmost point of the continent. Listen to fado - songs of the Portuguese heart. You can also come back here again and again, but this will no longer be a unique event: tens of thousands of tourists do this from year to year. Anyone who has once visited Portugal will return here again, and this is the great secret of the appeal of this unique country.
