The Magnet Surfhouse, where you will be staying at, is on the first floor of an apartment house. They have three double private rooms and one 6-person dorm. They also have a backyard where you can hang out and barbecue.
Program
This surf package includes seven-night accommodation in a spacious room, every morning healthy breakfast, high-speed wireless internet, five times of two-hour of surf teaching, in-depth theory lesson, and unlimited use of all surf material. On the spot, you can book additional surf lessons and guidance as well as yoga, massage, city tours, and airport transfer. The surf package is from Sunday to Sunday.
Surf lessons for all levels
The Magnet Projects offers surf lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced surfers. No matter what your level is, with the help of the experienced instructors, you will be able to learn from scratch or simply improve on your skills and technique. The coaches speak English, German, Hungarian, Dutch, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The Magnet Projects teaches on the safe sandy beaches of Costa da Caparica, but according to your level, the swell size, and the conditions, you also go to other surf spots. All courses include unlimited use of surf equipment (wetsuit, surfboard, leash, and wax) during and outside the lessons.
For beginners, The Magnet Projects uses soft-top boards from the local Portuguese brand Deeply. These boards are the best and safest way to learn to surf. The groups have a maximum of 5 students per teacher. In addition, the surf course includes a theory lesson in which you will learn everything you need to know about the dangers, currents, tides, wind and wave forecast, as well as the rules that apply in the water.

Zoltan Bakro
Zoli, born and raised in Hungary, studied tourism and hospitality in Budapest. He loves traveling and learning new languages. He got addicted to surfing in California in 2007 where he lived for a year. The last six years, he worked as a surf-and snowboard instructor but by now his heart grew closer to the ocean. He is an early riser who likes to beat the morning crowds and he will make sure that his students get into the same habit.
Location
This surf camp is located in Costa da Caparica, the closest surf town to the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The neighborhood of Santo Antonio da Caparica serves as home for the guests where they escape the tourist crowds of the center of Caparica, but it is still only a 10-minute walk to the ocean. This Lisbon’s closest beach town is located on the southern shore of the Rio Tejo. Costa da Caparica is a lively, modern, and upcoming town that is adored by the Portuguese but virtually unknown to foreign tourists.
The Costa da Caparica coastline is simply stunning and is famed for its powerful seas with consistent waves, vast sandy beaches, wonderful natural scenery, and lots of sunshine. All of which is less than a 30-minute drive from central Lisbon. The town center of Costa da Caparica doesn't have the historic charm of other beach towns along Portugal’s coastline, but it has a decent selection of shops, cafes, and restaurants.
The surf spot
This exceptional beach is Europe’s longest continuous sandy shoreline and, as facing the powerful Atlantic Ocean, is a paradise for surfers. The waves are suitable for all levels, sheltered and shaped by the nine jetties of Caparica. Heading just a bit south, you can still find deserted beaches around Fonte da Telha, where perfect waves can be found when all is closing-out on the more exposed beaches to the North.

Arrival by airplane
Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Airport (LIS). Transfer from and to the airport is available upon request for 30 EUR per person, 25 EUR per person for a two-person group, or 20 EUR per person for the three-person group.
If you do not opt for airport transfer, you can reach the venue by bus from the airport. There are buses leaving from the airport to Areeiro. You can take bus 705 to Roma / Areeiro Station. Once you arrived there, you can take bus 161 to Costa da Caparica. This trip takes between 60 and 90 minutes. The Magnet Surfhouse is located about 10 - 15 minutes' walk from the center. You can also take bus 783 or 744 to Estação Entrecampos, then a train of Fertagus company to Pragal station and finally bus 124 to Costa da Caparica. The trip takes between 90 and 120 minutes.
If you want to try to take a ferry, you will need to take an AeroBus (line 1) to Cais do Sodré (final stop of the line). Then, take a ferry to Cacilhas and finally bus 135 or 124 to Costa da Caparica. This trip takes between 90 and 120 minutes. Cais do Sodré can also be reached from the airport by subway.
Unlike in other Europeans cities, UBER is still legal in Portugal and definitely cheaper than a normal taxi ride. A trip from the airport to Caparica will cost you 18 to 24 EUR, depending on the traffic. Make sure to download the app on your smartphone.
In addition, you can buy a taxi voucher from Lisbon to Costa da Caparica at the Tourism desk at Lisbon Airport (LIS) or jump in a taxi at the airport and pay directly to the driver. This trip takes between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the traffic. Same as an UBER, it will cost you about 30 EUR.
Arrival by train
From the central station of Cais do Sodré, you can take a train to Belém. From here, take the ferry to Trafaria and, from Trafaria, take the bus number 129 to the street of Avenida do Oceano.
