Accommodation
Dorm
The dorm at the Lisbon surf hostel consists of two rooms, each sleeping 4 people and containing two bunk beds. This means a total of 8 people can sleep there. Each bed has ample storage space, a power outlet, a light, and the ability to lock your bed for privacy. Beds are provided with sheets, and you'll receive a towel. A lock is also provided so you can securely lock your own closet. The dorm has its own spacious bathroom.
Private Double Room
This private double room features a double bed that can easily be converted into two single beds. Ideal for couples and friends who enjoy sharing a room. You'll share two bathrooms with the other two private rooms. The beds are, of course, equipped with sheets, pillows, blankets, and a towel.
Quadruple Room
The quadruple room is ideal for small groups who still want their own room. It features two single beds and a bunk bed. You share both bathrooms on this floor with the other two private rooms. All rooms can be booked for couples or small groups, ideal if you would like your own room. The beds are, of course, equipped with sheets, pillows, blankets, and a towel.
Program
Surfbase is Surfblend's hostel concept, and now you can find it in Lisbon! It's the ideal spot for a surfing holiday in Portugal, looking for the atmosphere of a surf camp, but smaller and, above all, a tent-free stay. During low and mid-season, you can choose your arrival and departure time, with a minimum stay of 3 nights. During high season, bookings are made weekly, starting on a Saturday.
Surfbase Lisbon is located right behind the beach in the center of Caparica, with its many shops, bars, and restaurants. The renovated boulevard, lined with numerous beach clubs, runs along the beach. Lisbon's old town is a 20-minute drive away and is easily accessible by bus and (cheap!) taxis. Surfbase Lisbon is run by the Surfblend team, and in addition to daily breakfast, they also provide a fun program with activities like beach volleyball, surfskating, and more!
The surf hostel in Lisbon offers several rooms and a cozy, large courtyard. Here you'll find a large indoor bar where we enjoy lively evenings. The ideal spot for a fantastic surfing holiday in Portugal with a group of up to 17 people!
Surf lessons
Is this your first surfing experience, or do you want to brush up on your skills? They offer various lesson packages that will quickly help you learn to surf in Lisbon. All our lessons are taught by certified instructors, and we only use high-quality surf gear.
If you choose surfing lessons, the equipment is included and you can use it for the entire duration of your stay. This way, after the lesson, you can enjoy unlimited access to the water for plenty of practice!
Beginner
Is this your first time, or have you already had a few lessons but never really felt like you were getting the hang of surfing? Then choose the beginner package. Choose 3 lessons as a refresher course or 5 lessons if you want to go through the full coaching program.

Surf spots
The Surfspot is right on the doorstep of the Lisbon surf hostel. Caparica is Lisbon's beach and an ideal spot to learn to surf in Portugal, but also to find good waves for more experienced surfers! Several breakwaters line the promenade, creating zones where you can find slightly different waves. Ideal for all levels!
Its central location near Lisbon makes it easy to explore the surf spots of Cascais, Sintra, and Ericeira during your surfing holiday in Portugal!

Environment
The Surfbase Lisbon surf hostel is located next to the center of Caparica, just a few hundred meters from Lisbon's beach and main boulevard. So you're literally close to everything. Caparica is Lisbon's surf beach, meaning you can not only surf, relax, and party in Caparica, but also enjoy everything Lisbon itself has to offer. The old city center is about a 15-minute drive from the surf hostel and is easily accessible by taxi and public transport.
The waves are excellent and not too crowded, making it the ideal spot to learn to surf in Lisbon. You can walk to the beach, as the surf base is right behind the promenade. Want to try surfari? Then it's definitely worth a day trip north during your surfing holiday in Portugal and explore Ericeira, among other places!
Tips from the locals
1. Bars and restaurants:
There's certainly no shortage of bars and restaurants in Caparica! The town center and the promenade are packed with them, and you'll find everything you can imagine! For example, near the Lisbon surf hostel is a favorite sushi bar, Paraiso.
2. The market:
Every week there's a fantastic flea market with local products, quirky gadgets, and unique stalls. The market is a five-minute walk from the Lisbon Surf Base.
3. Belém
It is highly recommended, perhaps combined with a visit to the old town. Not only will you enjoy the old fortress, but you also shouldn't miss the traditional pastéis (pastries) here!
Food
Besides your overnight stay, you can also enjoy a generous breakfast buffet at the surf hostel in Lisbon every day! Choose from a variety of breads and delicious toppings. Muesli lovers will also find a tasty bowl to fill, and the hosts often provide an extra surprise at breakfast.

The old town of Lisbon is a must-see for any traveler! Wander through the narrow streets, grab a coffee and a Pastel de Nata at a terrace, and end the day at one of the many trendy rooftop bars! Oh, and don't forget the shopping, and of course, the famous tram ride!
Fonte de Telha:
Spend a day exploring the small and tranquil Fonte de Telha. It's a small, relaxed village not far from Caparica. An Uber will get you there in no time. Definitely worth it!
Sintra and Ericeira.
Tired of surfing in Lisbon and want to spend a day soaking up the culture and exploring Ericeira? Combine it with a visit to the famous Sintra Castle, and then continue to Ericeira. Foz de Lizandro, Ribeira de Ilhas, and Coxos are waves you simply must experience!

Caparica and the immediate area surrounding the Lisbon surf hostel have a lot to offer.
