So if you feel like you could do with a bit of stretching after a long day surfing, yoga is a fantastic way to improve your flexibility and strengthen your body.
Surf lessons
They usually divide groups according to their level and surf ability. They want to offer the best guest surf experience, but safety first. The international team is fully involved in ensuring you improve your surf skills whether it is learning to do the take-off or ride your first green waves. The lesson will begin with some theory, safety, and surf rules on the beach and a brief warm-up before heading out to the surf.
Yoga lessons
Enthusiastic and professional yoga instructors make their sessions fun and accessible to yogis of all levels. Yoga lessons are in the evening. Stretch that body after a proving day in the surf. Flow to the sound of the ocean and the mosque while watching the sun go down. A magical setting to end the day and balance your chakras with a soothing yoga flow.
A typical day
A typical day of a surf and yoga package would start with a hearty breakfast with a variety of healthy options to fuel up for the day ahead. You would leave around 8:45 a.m. to ensure you hit the surf before anyone else. The lesson kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and will last a couple of hours. It will start with some theory on the beach followed by some fun in the surf. After the lesson, it is time for lunch. Ali has surely prepared a super healthy lunch, just enough to keep you going but not fill you up too much. You need to head out again in the arvo.
4:00 p.m. is the usual return time to the surf house, but they always remain flexible depending on conditions. However, you will probably be looking forward to the Moroccan tea waiting for you at the surf camp with nice Moroccan pastries. At 5:00 p.m., the yoga lesson will start on the rooftop. Please note that time may vary depending on daylight savings. You will usually gather on the rooftop after sunset and enjoy a nice cold drink or warm tea while you share all the day’s adventures. The three-course dinner is served around 8:00 p.m. Sleep, then repeat.
Surfboard
Morocco offers a wide range of waves for all levels, so you could really take your whole quiver. Bring equipment that suits your abilities best, and according to what kind of waves you want to surf.
Wetsuit
The water can get cold during winter, so they recommend a good 3/2 or even a 4/3 wetsuit. Summer months are warmer so bring your shorty or summer wetsuit as well as your 3/2.
