Stoke Portugal Surf House's newly renovated Portuguese-style casa in Santa Cruz is the perfect crash pad for wave-chasers, salty vagabonds, and beach bums alike. Whether you are there to rip through the world-famous breaks along Lisboa’s coast or just need a spot to kick back and recover from last night’s antics, they have got you covered. Santa Cruz is not just an epic name. It is also an underrated surf mecca, and Stoke is there to give it the street cred that it deserves. The house offers dorm-style accommodation or private rooms for the shred heads who need a comfy place to recharge, three bathrooms and an outside bathroom, a comfy living room and a spacious area for digital nomads.
As notorious sesh-gremlins, it is not always easy to find an excursion where you can pull yourself away from the chaos and slow down - whether that means logging in, or logging out and detoxing. With a chill living area or the poolside sun terrace to clock in from, it will not even feel like you have done a day of work before you have to clock out and join them at the beach, on a day trip, or head into Lisbon - whatever you want to do when you are off the clock.

Find your perfect holiday home with Portugal's best swells on your doorstep, sunshine all year round, private pool for the ones that do not fear cold water, pizza oven and barbecue, projector for movie nights. Peniche and Ericeira are around the corner and even Nazaré is close by for a day trip to watch big wave surfers during winter.
They are happy to arrange surf lessons with their partner Enjoy Surf School, enduro tours with their friend Jack, yoga sessions with an instructor close by, and horse riding with the local stable (all for additional fees - on request). As they are offering their beloved Stoke Portugal Surf House as a winter escape for your group, they are happy to arrange the weekly itinerary to your wishes. They are offering surf lessons with their local school. They will not just push you into the water and wish you luck. Their experienced surf instructors are up early every morning scoping out where the swell is pumping, all to make sure that you will be in the right place at the right time.
Whether you are chasing slabs or foamy white-wash so that you have the space to learn, they will make sure that you will be out there, laughing, learning, and having the time of your life. When you are not getting salty, there is plenty to keep the stoke rolling. Hit the local wineries (Santa Cruz was coined the European City of Wine in 2018), feast on some fresh, locally caught seafood, or sit back and take in a sunset so good that it will have you Googling 'Portugal long-term visas.' Stoke Portugal Surf House also offers horseback riding options, enduro tours and can point you in the direction of nearby hikes - for the beach bums sick of the surf and sand.
After you have gotten baked on the beach, wander back down to the house and cool off with a cold one from their fully stocked, pool-side bar, where a 15 EUR drink ticket will get you eight drinks (however many tickets you go through a day - up to you). With weekly barbecue nights and a pizza oven to entice you back in from time in the waves, you will start your days wave-chasing and end them stretched out by the pool or on a yoga mat. Or, head into town for a wild night in the palm-tree-lined Santa Cruz- the Stokies have scoped out the town for the best places to retox after a day spent detoxing in the green room.

Meet Santa Cruz, Portugal’s underrated hub for surfing. It is a surfing mecca in Portugal that has yet to hit the tourism map. Smack bang in the middle of world-renowned breaks - Ericeira and Peniche - Santa Cruz still catches the powerful Atlantic swell while holding onto the quaint, fishing-village heritage where the beers are poured generously and the locals are welcoming. With famous wave breaks like Nazare just a short drive up the coast, if a 60-foot wave spectacle is underway, you are only a stone's throw away from the action. In a similar vein, if you have lucked out and booked your stay for a week that the WSL is in town, Stoke Portugal Surf House will make sure that you do not miss a thing.
Qualifying series have been held at Santa Cruz beach in previous years. Stoke Portugal Surf House's Portugal surf camp in Santa Cruz is a 50-minute drive away from Lisbon Airport (where they can grab you from), and nestled right in between Ericera and Peniche, in close proximity to some elite surf spots for learners and pro-shredders. Whether you are making your way down the coast, or making a one-off trip or first stop on your trip out of Lisbon, you will be able to reach them.

Surf school lessons
Two and a half hours for all levels available with experienced surf guides and includes surfboard, wetsuit, and rides to the best surf spots each day. It costs 50 EUR per lesson. Multiple lesson deals are available.
Portugal surf camp for groups
Stoke Portugal Surf House has ample space available for large groups to buy out the space in the house and tailor experiences during their stay for their group. Whether you want to get amongst the waves, chill out and lounge around together, or pack it all in and explore all that the area has to offer, the home can be the base for you and your mates, club, team, or colleagues.
They also have certain activities available upon request for an extra cost for large groups (or if they have got a hoard of solo travellers keen to get up to some fun), including nights out in Lisbon, motorbiking and mountain biking excursions, horseback riding, and wine tours to indulge in some of the best wines that the area is known for. Arrival by bus
Lisbon is only around one hour away from Stoke Portugal's house, so you can get a bus (around 4 EUR) to the nearby town of Torres Vedras, where they can go and pick you up from (if arranged beforehand).
