This intermediate surf package is ideal for surfers who already have some experience in the water and are confident in the unbroken green waves. Shaka Surf Morocco provides you with all the surf kit, lessons, and tailored feedback to help you perfect your surfing technique, becoming a stronger and more confident surfer.
The intermediate surfers travel to a range of local surf spots (beach breaks and point breaks). Shaka Surf Morocco's priority is to make sure you see an improvement in your surfing over the week and leave with some great personalized tips. They want to provide quality, not quantity, which is why they keep their group sizes to a maximum of four students per instructor.
These lessons build upon your current knowledge of surfing which will be discussed with you on your first day of surfing. You will join the instructors in paddling out to the lineup, where instructors goal is to help you increase the speed and frequency of waves you catch, progress in your maneuvers including cutbacks and bottom turns as well as develop your surfing style.
The onshore lessons combined with coaching in the water make sure you get the most time to develop and improve your surfing style and confidence as well as learning some advanced surf theory. Shaka Surf Morocco hopes that after a week with them you will have caught some rides to remember, developed your surfing style, and made some awesome new surf buddies.
During this surf camp, you will go on a one-day surf trip to Imsouane. Imsouane is home to the longest right-hand wave in Morocco and Shaka Surf Morocco's favorite surf day trip! This traditional fishing village is approximately a 90-minute drive from the surf camp, along the coastal road to the north. On entering the village, you will be greeted by the mix of its traditional fishing village roots and budding surfing culture.
This surf spot is home to two breaks, The Bay which has the longest wave in Morocco and The Cathedral. Both waves are suitable for all level of surfers and work on opposite tides, which means you can spend the morning surfing one spot, eat lunch, and then hop over to the other spots.
Your home away from home during your stay with Shaka Surf Morocco will be the beautiful surf riad based in the relaxed village of Tamraght nestled on the sunny south coast. It is located just a short 10-minute walk to the beach, a five-minute walk to the local shops and cafes, and 30 minutes from Agadir. There are 15 surf breaks within 15 kilometers.
It is also just 14 kilometers north of Agadir, a short 40-minute drive from Agadir-Al Massira Airport (AGA) and two kilometers from the lively surf tourist hotspot of Taghazout. Morocco is famed for its consistent year-round surf breaks and with access to over fifteen different surf spots ranging from beginner to pro, there's something for every ability.
Shaka Surf Morocco knows the importance of a good start to the day. That is why they offer delicious surfers' breakfast buffet style, allowing you the choice to pick and choose from a range of bread, spreads, cereals, yogurts, seasonal fruits, and eggs, as well as tea and coffee.

Discover a different side of Morocco as you step away from the ocean and head inland, driving forty minutes through the Atlas Mountains to reach Paradise Valley. This spot is famous for its natural beauty with an abundance of wildlife, palm trees, rivers, natural water pools and water slides.
After a short hike down into the valley, you will have free time to explore the surroundings, go for a swim, soak up some rays and dare you to do a rock jump. A traditional tagine lunch will be taken in one of the poolside cafes, giving you the chance to refuel and take some shade before heading back out.
Agadir souk is rumored to be the third largest souk in North Africa and at just a 30-minute drive from Tamraght. This large indoor and outdoor market is a great place to spend an afternoon. Take a walk around the many rows of stalls, exploring the wide range of traditional crafts, spices, and foods of Morocco. Go on, test your bargaining skills and pick up some truly unique gifts.
Aourir, otherwise known as Banana Village due to its abundance of bananas, is a neighboring village. Every Wednesday, it's the local market day, offering up a very traditional Moroccan souk experience.
There are stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables, alongside nuts, dried fruits, olives and much, much more. In addition to edible items, you can also find Moroccan handicrafts such as rugs and jewelry. Shaka Surf Morocco loves this souk and its bananas are the sweetest around!
Take a day to explore the beautifully relaxed seaside town of Essaouira which is known for its arts scene, laid-back Bohemian vibe, and delicious fresh fish. Take a walk around the outer medina of the town and explore the ancient seafront ramparts and old brass canons lining these protective walls.
The peaceful inner medina offers up a maze of streets home to many galleries, shops, and cafes. Last but not least, don't forget to visit the vibrant fishing port and sample some of the day's local catch at the fish market.
Enjoy a beautiful sunset horseback ride along the beach. Walk, trot, canter or gallop, there are rides and horses for all levels. These horses are all housed in the local stables, a short 10-minute drive from the camp.
Treat yourself to a full body massage, choosing from a relaxing massage through to something a little stronger. A traditional Moroccan hammam is also available in a private steam room using black olive soap and gommage to scrub and massage the skin. Agadir-Al Massira Airport (AGA) is well connected to many mainland European cities, with a wide range of flight carriers including easyJet, Ryanair and Transavia offering daily and weekly routes. This airport is just a 45-minute drive to the village of Tamraght where Shaka Surf Morocco is based.
Alternatively, Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) is roughly a three-and-a-half-hour drive, or Essaouira-Mogador Airport (ESU) a two-and-a-half-hour drive. If you choose to fly to Marrakech or Essaouira, then you can either take a local bus to get to Shaka Surf Morocco, or they can help arrange you a taxi transfer.
If you are already traveling around Morocco or are flying to Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) or Essaouira-Mogador Airport (ESU), the bus is the easiest and the cheapest option to get to Shaka Surf Morocco. There are two bus companies which they would recommend you take. Either Supratours or CTM is the largest Moroccan inter-city bus companies. CTM lists their timetable online, along with ticket prices.
