Aloha! Enjoy a little sun, a big beach, mornings full of surfing lessons, and evenings full of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Scrap Shack Gym, located at the beginning of the 7-mile miracle on the North Shore of Oahu. During this camp, you will get to train Jiu-Jitsu with the Scrap Shack team and coaches and surf some of the best waves in the world with local surf instructors. All skill levels are welcome!

This is a three-bedroom house overlooking one of the most prestigious surf spots Velzyland. Rooms comfortably fit two adults. If your group does not occupy all of the rooms, you may be sharing the house with others visiting on the same dates as you.

If you're the only one visiting during a week and there are no other guests then you will be getting private surf lessons and a house mostly to yourself during your stay.

Program

Upon waking up to the beautiful North Shore, you are free to have your breakfast in the fully outfitted kitchen or outside on our patio overlooking the ocean. Around 9:00 a.m., you will be leaving to go surf and meet up with the instructors. You will have a blast surfing the great waves around the North Shore until around 11:30 a.m.

Following after the surf, for lunch, you will break into smaller groups (or maybe not) depending on where everyone wants to go for lunch. North Shore has a great selection of restaurants and food trucks to choose from. After lunch, you've got plenty of time to chill out, relax, and enjoy some downtime by soaking up some sun, hitting the beach going on a bike ride, or maybe you just want to chill out in your room and take a nap…no problem! Or, you could head off to one of the many daily options like zip-lining, snorkeling, shark diving, hiking, etc…

At 6:00 p.m., you will get into the Jiu-Jitsu session for the day with a class run by Professor Bernardo Tavolaro. Training sessions run about 1.5 - 2 hours, and afterward, you can all head back to the house get cleaned up before dinner is served.

*Note: Every day is your day! Feel like sleeping in? Go for it! Going to skip the surfing for the day and go zip-lining? Have a blast! There is never any obligation to follow any schedule. Do what you want, as much as you want! The amenities are almost always available to you at any time!

Location

This retreat/camp is located right in the world-renowned North Shore of Oahu near Velzyland Beach. The 7-mile stretch of the white sand beach consists of world-class surf spots like Sunset Beach and Pipeline. The Hawaiian Triple Crown is usually held here in December, consisting of three contests: Haleiwa, Sunset, and Pipeline that traditionally end the professional tour's season. The surf camp is located just 0.6 miles from Sunset Beach, a prime location if you want to be amongst all the action.
