All instructors are internationally trained. Stay in their cool beach-themed surf house, just a short walk to the beach, where you will find, uncrowded waves, lovely rock pools, great snorkeling, and a lovely, semi private beach. Pumula Surf House is an old fisherman's cottage, lovingly restored and turned into a surf house. Established in 2013, the surf house was an addition to their existing surf school which is one of the oldest surf schools in the area. The house is your home away from home, decorated in surf style.
The Surf House offers 2 bathrooms, spacious indoor and outdoor living spaces. The Surf House has 4 bedrooms: 2 private double rooms and 2 twin rooms, one of which can be turned into a dorm room for larger groups.
The Surf House is surrounded by lovely indigenous South African Bush, and is just a short 300 m walk to the most stunning beach.
The Surf House has a large garden bursting with bird life and tropical fruit trees. There is a large outdoor deck and plenty of chillout places to find in the garden, including hammocks to chill in and a large yoga deck surrounded by forest. The most magical mangrove forest is at the bottom of the garden. With this thriving forest you will hear lots of natural bush sounds and animals. Fall asleep to the sound of the African bush and the waves crashing on the shore. Wake up to the bird sounds and the sounds of the ocean. And you will definitely get a glimpse of the very cute vervet monkeys. When staying with them you will become part of their surf family. Come and experience a magical way of life.

Program
Pumula Surf Camp has become very well known for their progressive surfing sessions and you will definitely improve your surfing. They also will take you to the best spots for your surfing ability and make sure you have an awesome experience. You will spend your nights by relaxing and taking in the night sounds of the bushland overlooking stunning views over the indigenous forest.

- Arrival day: Arrive from 13:00 onwards. An earlier check in can be arranged.

Instructors
Justin Maisch
Justin started surfing competitively at a young age and dominated the junior ranks and earned his Springbok colors to surf the world games in Bali and Brazil. He then went on the world pro series, surfing and traveling throughout South Africa and Europe reaching the top 200 on the world rankings. Justin is very passionate about coaching and sharing the art of wave riding. Justin currently still surfs professionally and competes in the South African Surfing Champs every year.

Food
Surf Villa's menu consists of fresh healthy nutritious meals. Breakfasts will be served with seasonal fruit smoothies, muesli, yogurts, fresh eggs, and croissant which are included in the package. Surf Villa also serves lunch and dinner for an additional fee. Dinners can be booked on site for 150 ZAR per person. For vegan and gluten-free meals, please add 50 ZAR per person per meal.
Lunch is usually light with fresh greens from the garden, homemade bread, and fresh ocean fish (if available). Dinner varies daily and usually consists of fresh greens, grains, salads, and a good quality meat option. Examples are traditional African foods, fresh seafood platters, and a traditional South African meal of a braai veils (flame grilled barbeque). All diets are catered for so please advise upon booking.
Surf Villa has become very well-known for all the yummy meals that come out of the kitchen. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian, or meat eater, they cater for all diets. Cooking is one of Hayley’s passions and she makes sure that everyone is fed good, healthy, homecooked meals. They often like to sit around the fire and “braai” (barbecue). The fish braais are simply delicious freshly caught fish, fresh organic vegetarian, and salads. Other meals include traditional South African fare such as boerewors (South African sausage) and potjies (South African stews) cooked in a traditional African pot over the fire. Surf Villa also does gluten-free and many other diets.

Daily shuttles are available from King Shaka International Airport (DUR). You can take the airport shuttle called Southern Shuttle. You will be dropped at Second Avenue Pumula. Pumula Surf Camp will come to collect you. Please make sure to give them all your travel details so they can collect you on time.
