Program
During this surf camp, you will enjoy a total of 7.5 hours of surf lessons, designed to introduce you to the world of surfing step by step. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some prior experience, the courses are tailored to meet your needs. You will start with beach practice and learn to surf in the whitewash, along with detailed explanations about the equipment.
You will master essential skills, including proper paddling placement and techniques, duck-diving, and rolling techniques. You'll also learn how to stand up correctly, execute basic turns, time and count waves, and position yourself effectively on the face of a wave.
Additionally, you'll receive 7.5 hours of survival Spanish lessons. We are passionate about teaching both Spanish and surfing, and we look forward to immersing you in the culture. This will help you communicate more effectively during your visit.

Location
This surf camp takes place in Olón, Ecuador—a charming coastal town nestled between a stunning mountainside to the east and a beach that hosts some of the best waves in the country. Olón is situated in the Santa Elena province, approximately 220 kilometers northwest of Guayaquil.
The Republic of Ecuador is a country of incredible diversity, bordered by Colombia to the north, Peru to the south, the Amazon rainforest to the east, and the beautiful Pacific coast to the west. The Galapagos Islands, located about 1,000 kilometers off the Pacific Coast, are Ecuador's most famous tourist attraction.
Ecuador offers a wide range of climates and landscapes, from majestic mountains and active volcanoes to the lush Amazon jungle and sun-kissed coastlines with world-class surf waves. The coastal regions are typically hot and humid, while the Amazon and highland areas can be cooler, especially as you ascend into the mountains. Ecuador is also home to a rich tapestry of cultures, reflected in its vibrant towns and cities.

During this camp, you may visit the many towns both north and south on the coast, rent a bike and head inland throughout the mountains and rivers, hang out in Montanita, and enjoy its famous nightlife. If what you are looking for is something more relaxing, while in Olon, you can enjoy its quiet beach life, softer and less populated waves, and have quiet nights in the local restaurants and pubs.
To increase your knowledge of Spanish, you may also take part in the different activities Outdoor Ecuador organizes every week for this purpose. From tournament pools to cooking classes, you will have plenty of opportunities to improve your Spanish by talking to the locals while enjoying yourself in fun activities.

Arrival by Bus

If you're traveling from Quito, take the "Transporte Ecuador" bus to Guayaquil. The journey lasts over 7 hours and costs roughly $13 USD per person.
Another option is to travel to Puerto López, a coastal town north of Olón. From Puerto López, board "Manglaralto" bus heading to Playas. This bus, part of the Ruta del Spondylus, passes through Olón within one hour and costs roughly $2 USD per person.

Taking a taxi from Guayaquil to Olón will cost between $100 and $150 USD, depending on your negotiation skills and Spanish proficiency. Ensure the taxi is legitimate by hiring from reputable sources at the airport or bus terminal.
