Jaca Hostel is a small lodge located in the calm village of Porto da Cruz, in the Northeast of Madeira Island. Was built on the XIX century and was restored since then, being until recently a family house. In a special place, where the green of the mountains finds the blue of the sea, you can find a cozy Hostel with a decoration that mix the old and the new, for your holidays in Madeira Island to rest and connect with nature.
Program
During this eight-day surf camp you will be receiving five surf lessons from experienced instructors. All surfing equipment would be provided for the lessons. Madeira New Wave will also transport you to the surf spots.
Instructors
André Câmara
André has been surfing since 2010 and competed in the Regional Championship since 2012. He was the Regional Champ in the bodyboarding modality in 2015 and since 2018 our 2019 our main surf instructor.
Carina Carvalho
Carina Carvalho is from Madeira Island and the Madeira New Wave founder. Her passion for wave ridding started in 2005 and since then she has been addicted to it as a free surfer and also as an athlete, competing in the national, European, and world tour of bodyboarding since 2010. So travelling to the best surfing destinations, meeting new people, and contacting with different cultures has been her lifestyle.

Driving instructions
Take the main road ("Via Rápida") towards East to the city of Machico, then follow the directions to Porto da Cruz straight to Northeast. On the way to Porto da Cruz you will pass a few tunels and be aware of the right exit after passing a gas station (GALP) on the right side of the road. The route has a duration of approximately 20 minutes.
