You will stay for seven nights at the Modern and Recycled House. The guest house has six rooms with different names that represent their specific themes. They are the Antique, Art, Buddha, Hiking, Levada, Music and Route 66, all with private water closet, TV, and free Wi-Fi. It has a beautiful and cozy kitchen where all the guests can cook their meals and socialize with each other (having also a TV and free Wi-Fi). The rooms are double or twin room without sea view. All the elements of the guest house are a mixture of recycled materials with modern pieces. With a very good host that receives all the guests with sympathy, this is the best place to stay for your adventure in Madeira Island!
During this eight-day surf camp you will be receiving two-hour surf lessons from experienced instructors. All surfing equipment would be provided for the lessons. Madeira New Wave will also transport you the surf spots.
André has been surfing since 2010 and competed in the Regional Championship since 2012. He was the Regional Champ in the bodyboarding modality in 2015 and since 2018 our 2019 our main surf instructor.
Carina Carvalho is from Madeira Island and the Madeira New Wave founder. Her passion for wave ridding started in 2005 and since then she has been addicted to it as a free surfer and also as an athlete, competing in the national, European, and world tour of bodyboarding since 2010. So travelling to the best surfing destinations, meeting new people, and contacting with different cultures has been her lifestyle.
This surf camp will take place in Machico, Madeira Island, Portugal. The accommodation is situated in the city of Machico five minutes by car from Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport (FNC). It is very close to the beach (a minute walk) and from other important facilities like supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, and more.
Machico is localized in the southeast of Madeira Island, at 20 minutes by car from the main city of Funchal and five minutes from the airport. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and has two beaches where you can relax and go for a swim.
If there are the right conditions, it is possible to have your surf session on one of the beaches. Machico a very calm city and have the most important facilities for your different needs. And if you wanna try other nature sports than surfing, Machico offers you many varieties.

If you are looking for a very relaxing experience with stunning landscapes and awesome marine activities, this will be your best choice. Leave Marina do Funchal at 9:00 a.m., this boat trip cruises along the south coast towards Ponta do Pargo. Before returning, you will stop for a while to allow you to snorkel, stand up paddling or kayaking. Buffet lunch will be served onboard and the possibility of refreshing yourself again before arriving. You can book this trip from May until October every Sunday´s.
This boat trip takes about nine hours. You will be able to arrive at the Desert Islands Nature Reserve and enjoy the crystal-clear sea waters on an almost still virgin volcanic beach. On a total area of 12.586 acres, it is composed by Ilhéu do Chão, Deserta Grande, Bugio and Ilhéus Adjacentes. You also have the opportunity for stand up paddling or snorkeling all over this area (gear and kit included). Available every Wednesday and Saturday, from May until October.

Join on this newly created activity that combines a Levada walk with a four by four safari. You will feel the Madeira’s wildness traveling across on a four by four but also by foot enjoying the UNESCO heritage forest. Later on, you will be taken through the sugar cane fields having the opportunity to taste the best flavors that the island can offer.

To guarantee the cetaceans watching, the organizers rely on the best team to do so. You will be guided by marine biologists who will provide you with a brief introduction to these amazing creatures such as dolphins and whales. From here, let the adventure begin! Also, you will have the possibility to swim with dolphins, an unforgettable experience! Prices: 495 EUR for adults. Children under five years are free, while tickets for children from six to 11 years old costs 43 EUR.
Madeira’s mountain landscape will seduce you to try this activity. For beginner’s level, it is suggested canyoning at Ribeira de Cale, an easy route for everybody no matter your age.
