As part of the program, there will be a practical kite tuition for three days. The tuition will include basic lessons such as equipment discovery, security system, and procedures, setting up, launch and land, fly control, body drag, first water start, controlled water start, and first ride downwind.
Kite control and safety
On day one, you will learn how to control the kite on the beach and how to use the security systems along with the basic weather and safety theory. You will then be ready for the boat session.
Water sessions
Water sessions will start with body dragging, techniques to launch the kite while in the water, followed by water starts, and progressing to your first rides. The boat will follow you and will always be as a visual contact with the instructor supervising your progression. Water sessions allow you to progress fast in a safe environment. You will be able to ride straight ahead without obstacles and enjoy a maximum kiting experience.
Practice makes perfect
There will be more kite launches, water starts, and downwind rides achieving kite and board control optimization, possibly first upwind rides. The session will provide you a chance to polish and improve all techniques learned in previous sessions under expert supervision.
First beach start session
On day one, you have learned how to control the kite on the beach. On day two and three, you have progressed to your first rides on the open water. If the weather conditions are appropriate, you will have the option to replace the boat session with a beach start session. You will learn how to organize your own beach set up correctly. You will aim for a safe riding to and from the beach optimizing fast and smart progression.
COVID-19 measures
Please take note the lessons are still in a mixed group (not private, although Line Up Fuerteventura can arrange this on request and with an adapted price), but the group will be kept smaller (only five pupils per instructor), so the team can guarantee to keep a safe distance in the school vans (only six people per van in stead of nine), and on the beach.
Children policy
Line Up Fuerteventura do not accept any children in the camp, unless they are tall and heavy enough to participate in the classes. This is not a matter of age, but a matter of physical strength.
