Join Lanzasurf and learn to surf or improve your level in a more intensive way, while also keeping free time for other activities such as yoga, horseback riding, and skate in the afternoons! The surf center is open every day, all year round! So what are you waiting for? Come and experience the amazing waves of Spain as you relax in between with yoga!
You will stay in Lanzasurf Surf School. It is a great place to socialize with other surfers and to make the most of what Famara has to offer! The surf house is like a small hostel, self-catered and right in front of the beach across the dunes. It has direct sea and mountain views. Sunbathe and throw a barbecue in the dunes! Internet wireless connection is available.
Lanzasurf has developed a teaching system that is adaptable to all student types and levels. During this surf camp, if you learn fast, they will speed things up. But if you do not want to rush, do not worry for they will take it slow.
Either way, Lanzasurf will always teach with passion and use all their experience to ensure your time with them is productive, fun, and unforgettable. All Lanzasurf surfing classes include a theoretical and a practical part and will cover the following topics depending on your level:
You do not need any specific preparation before the surf camp. However, if you have surfed before, you will know that a good physical condition can have a great influence on your progression.
If you feel like getting in shape before the camp, running, swimming, and practicing yoga are all great ways to build up resistance and strength while also improving your breathing capacity, all of which can make a big difference in your surfing performance.
Every day at 09.45, Lanzasurf have a pick-up from the surf houses to the school
At 10.00 You will start your surfing lessons. Around 12.30, there will be a break together on the beach with some theory and provided snacks.
At 15.00 surf lesson will finish and drive you back to the surf houses.
After surfing it is time to relax in the surf houses, eat something and get ready for the yoga lesson at 19.00 (or at 18:00)
Evandro, Lanzasurf's operation manager and chief surf instructor, started surfing at the age of six and has participated in regional, national, and international surfing contests since he was eleven in Brazil. Evandro has 15 years of teaching experience and is a qualified surf instructor and surf judge. In 2004, Evandro decided to move to Canary Islands, Europe´s Hawaii. He loves teaching surfing and before starting his own surf school, he worked for several surf schools.
Dejan was born in Slovenia; a country with no waves! He started surfing late in his life, in 2006. He started in Famara and Evandro (owner of Lanzasurf) was his instructor. He became addicted to surfing and became a qualified surf instructor in 2015. He loves sharing his surf knowledge to first time surfers. In the past he has competed in swimming and white water kayaking competitions. He loves his life in board shorts and flip flops in Famara!
Sona has been practising yoga now for more than 15 years. What had started as something to help her to fix her back problems, soon became a lifestyle. Once she decided to quit her corporate job in the Netherlands and started to travel around the world, it became clear, it was time to start sharing the love and passion for yoga and meditation. She has been teaching since.
Marco is from Milan, he has loved and practiced sports all his life. His attraction to yoga led him to study, practice and eventually to become certified as a Vinyasa and Aerial yoga instructor, in Thailand! A new professional challenge brings him today to Lanzarote, where he shares his passion and experience with the Lanzasurf audience!
This retreat will take place in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain. Lanzarote, or “Lanza” as locals call it, is the most easterly island of the Canary archipelago, which belongs to Spain. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 100 kilometers west of the African coast and approximately 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Spain.
Lanzarote is the most volcanic of the Canary Islands. Its magnetic, almost lunar landscape boasts over 200 kilometers of coastline and countless beaches, together with the charm of its architecture, exclusively low-rise houses, all painted white with either blue or green woodwork, make it truly different from any other island of the archipelago.

The incredible quality of surf in Lanzarote has earned the island the nickname of “European Hawaii”, with a variety of spots for surfers of all levels. La Santa left reef break of impressive quality, perfect 364 days of the year, long, hollow, and powerful, good for manoeuvers and barrels, left and right. La Santa center magic reef break is an easy, mellow, and long wave that is perfect for manoeuvers and some small barrels left. La Santa right reef break is incredibly long and powerful wave that is good for maneuvers and barrels and can handle very large swells right.
Another beautiful break located to the extreme north of the island, on a beach adjacent to the small fishermen’s village of Orzola. Long, easy break starting on the reef and ending on the shore
San Juan has been chosen to host a leg of the world’s championship thanks to its very long left reef break, perfect for maneuvers and barrels, which connects to a second and third peak on the best days. The beach’s beauty is unspoiled, with a natural pool that is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
