Join the Lanzasurf family for a week of surf and yoga in a spectacular natural environment by the beach in the natural reserve of the Lanzarote Archipelago. The nights will be spent at their Surf House in Famara directly facing the beach. On this surf and yoga retreat, you can take surf lessons every day if you like. The surf course includes 4 hours of surf, plus a yoga session per day. Surf, do yoga, relax, and reconnect with nature!

You will stay in Lanzasurf's surf house in Famara, facing the beach, with beautiful sea and mountain views, and a minute walk from Famara village. The surf houses are fully equipped and self-catered. It is a fantastic place to socialize with other people on the surf and yoga camp and to make the most of what Famara has to offer.
Program
The surf instructors will be in the water with you pointing the best waves, helping you catch them, and giving feedback to help you improve your surfing technique. After your surf lesson, they will bring you back to the surf camp.
Surfing with Lanzasurf at Famara Beach
The surf course is taught at Playa de Famara, a 6 kilometer long white sandy beach which receives quality waves year-round. There will be 4 days of courses, a day for a deserved break, and then 5 days. The course takes place from 10:00 to 15:00. The description below shows how a day with Lanzasurf will look like:
At 10:00, you will be asked to be at Lanzasurf School. They want to make the most of your surfing lessons so at 10:30, they want to start in the water!
They guarantee that 4 hours and 30 minutes per day of theoretical and practical teaching with qualified instructors in turquoise waters will take your surfing to the next level.
The surf lessons are mostly practical but you will also have theoretical exercises where you will get to understand better the waves, the environment and the ocean.
After the lessons, you might want to enjoy the sunny weather at the beach, visit some touristic place, do yoga or just have some beers.
During your surfing holiday in Famara, you will be living the chilled surfing lifestyle. The village is full of people from everywhere that are looking for a relaxing place and the best waves. You will get to know the local people and enjoy the nice tapas and the best fish that the island can offer you. So you can't forget to bring your flip flops and bikini!
Lanzarote is considered to be one of the best surf spots and its known also as Hawaii's Europe.
The yoga at Lanzasurf
Yoga is taught in Famara every evening after the surf session, either indoor or outdoor depending on weather conditions. The yoga course includes:
- 1 hour Hatha, Kundalini, Vinyasa or Air yoga per day with qualified instructors
- All equipment is being provided
- Each class is adapted to the level of the group, from beginner to advanced
- The yoga sessions are specifically designed to improve your surfing through better balance, flexibility, core strength, breathing, and concentration
- Each yoga session includes a meditation and relaxation exercise to enable you to fully disconnect from the city life and re-connect with yourself and with nature
- Yoga lessons are from Monday to Saturday in the evening
Pick-up
Every day at 09.45, Lanzasurf have a pick-up from the surf houses to the school.
Surf lessons
At 10:00, you will start your surfing lessons. Around 12:30, there will be a break together on the beach with some theory and provided snacks. At 15:00, the surf lesson will finish and drive you back to the surf houses.
Relax and yoga
After surfing, it is time to relax in the surf houses, eat something and get ready for the yoga lesson at 19:00 (or at 18:00).
Instructors
Evandro Muñoz de Medeiros
Evandro, Lanzasurf's operation manager and chief surf instructor, started surfing at the age of six and has participated in regional, national, and international surfing contests since he was eleven in Brazil. Evandro has 15 years of teaching experience and is a qualified surf instructor and surf judge. In 2004, Evandro decided to move to Canary Islands, Europe´s Hawaii. He loves teaching surfing and before starting his own surf school, he worked for several surf schools.
Dejan
Dejan was born in Slovenia; a country with no waves! He started surfing late in his life, in 2006. He started in Famara and Evandro (owner of Lanzasurf) was his instructor. He became addicted to surfing and became a qualified surf instructor in 2015. He loves sharing his surf knowledge to first time surfers. In the past he has competed in swimming and white water kayaking competitions. He loves his life in board shorts and flip flops in Famara!
Sona Bonoba
Sona has been practising yoga now for more than 15 years. What had started as something to help her to fix her back problems, soon became a lifestyle. Once she decided to quit her corporate job in the Netherlands and started to travel around the world, it became clear, it was time to start sharing the love and passion for yoga and meditation. She has been teaching since.
Marco
Marco is from Milan, he has loved and practiced sports all his life. His attraction to yoga led him to study, practice and eventually to become certified as a Vinyasa and Aerial yoga instructor, in Thailand! A new professional challenge brings him today to Lanzarote, where he shares his passion and experience with the Lanzasurf audience!
Location
The surf and yoga camp is held in Famara, on the north shore of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. Lanzarote is located 150 kilometers east of the African coast, a 2-to-4-hour flight from the main European cities. No visa is required for members of the European Union as it is part of the Spanish territory. The currency is the Euro.
Lanzarote is the most volcanic of the Canary Islands. Here you will discover a truly unique landscape made of deserts, volcanoes, blue skies, crystal-clear waters, and unspoiled coastlines. You will feel the magnetic attraction of the island as soon as you step out of the plane.
If you would like, Lanzasurf can organize a car rental for you at a flat price from 149 EUR per week (category A car, all risk insurance, and unlimited mileage included). You will pick the car up and drop it off directly at the airport terminal. All you need to do is confirm your arrival and departure time and they will arrange this for you!
Food
The price includes a daily energy-packed snack at the beach after the morning session. Their surf houses are located around 50 meters from all amenities in the village; bars, restaurants, surf shops and grocery stores. You've got from the typical Spanish tapas to healthy vegan options.

Arrival by Car
On leaving the airport, follow Arrecife/Yaiza, then take the first exit on the right to follow Arrecife/Playa Honda. Once you are on the main freeway to Arrecife, take the first exit on the right, to Playa Honda/San Bartolome. At the first roundabout keep going straight, then at the second take a left to drive under the tunnel. At the roundabout just after the tunnel keep going straight to follow San Bartolome. Take a right turn to follow the road then at the next roundabout take a left. After this, drive straight for several kilometers until you arrive in San Bartolome, and once there, follow Teguise. Just before arriving in Teguise, at the roundabout you will see the sign to Caleta de Famara on the left.
Arrival by bus
It is also possible to get from the airport to Famara on public transport, although the bus line frequency is fairly low. Monday to Friday: Line n 22 from the airport to Arrecifes main bus station, then line n20 from Arrecifes main bus station to Caleta de Famara.
Directions from Lanzarote Airport
- On leaving the airport, follow Arrecife / Yaiza
- Then take the first exit on the right to follow Arrecife / Playa Honda
- Once you are on the main freeway to Arrecife, take the first exit on the right, to Playa Honda / San Bartolome
- At the first roundabout, keep going straight
- Then at the second take a left to drive under the tunnel

- After this, drive straight for several kilometers until you arrive in San Bartolome
- And once there, follow Teguise
- Just before arriving in Teguise, at the roundabout, you will see the sign to Caleta de Famara on the left

- The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
