"Pablo is the best"
My time here was incredible! Pablo is the best! All of the staff here were so welcoming, and made every effort to make it a great experience. Pablo helped me improve a lot with my surfing, thank you Pablo! The surfing, scuba diving, yoga and hostel were all amazing. Marcos runs a great surf camp, I’d highly recommend coming and enjoying everything Costa Rica has to offer!

"Coming Back! Pura Vida"
I have been to a handful of surf / yoga camps around the world and definitely would put this one up there in my top 3. To start La Botella de Leche is a perfect place to stay if you want to have good night life by you but also be in a place that you can get rest... solo, group and families stay at the hostel. And overall the facilities are clean and everything you need. Second, the breakfast at Utopia is great. Most importantly however, Manuel and his family as well as Marco and his team (Pablo and Agustin) are all amazing people. Manuel is good people and an excellent story teller. You will appreciate his international stories from all over the world. Marco is a true homie and has a group of excellent surf instructors. Truly enjoyed the community of people for surfing, yoga and overall life. Last thing I will note is Sandra (Marco's girlfriend is an excellent masseuse). I can't wait to be back. Cheers to Travel!

"Amazing surf camp"
The camp was amazing! Marcos, our surf teacher, guided us through every activity - not only the surf but the snorkeling and party life too. We felt very much at home and had so much fun! We also did the aerial yoga which we loved. Breakfast was served at the French café next door and the croissant sandwiches were to die for! Over all we strongly recommend this surf camp. Great accommodation, staff, vibe and activities!

Thank to Marcos, Doc. and other staff I could enjoyed the first central america trip. Before visiting them i was a bit nervous. But all staff welcomed me with warm heart. I surfed every day in very beautiful and warm sea with Doc. He was always positive and earnestly teach me. I'm an intermediate surfer but have hardly surfed for 3 years in the UK. So the size of waves were proper for me. Not so big. And this plan included snorkeling as well. With Marcos we swam with a small turtle. She was so beautiful. The most impressive thing in Costa Rica was their enviromental friendly spirit. On the beach no plastics no rubbish and in the hostel staff recommend you to use reusable bottle. I respect them.

"Muy delicioso "
All the members of the argentinian team were awesome ! They really made my week ! Without them it would not have been the same and I would have missed something.
They are so friendly, so smiling, full of energy and so helpful !
Furthermore, Marcos, is a really serious and professional surf instructor.
So proud of my level at the end of the week, thanks !
The best team in Costa Rica for sure.
THE place to go.

"Best instructors around "
Marcos and Pablo were both great, knowing exactly how hard to push in order to get the most out of you. As I beginner if you are willing to listen to them and follow instructions you will be able to get your own waves by the end of the week. Highly recommend them to anyone interested.

"Everything was great!"
The entire experience with the surf camp and the hostel far exceeded my expectations.
The surf camp was excellent. My instructors, Marcos and Augustine, had lots of paitence and passion for the sport. Even though I have some surfing experience before the camp, I still learned a lot about things I need to work on (timing, positioning in the lineup). If you are lucky, they may also do a BBQ for you, making the entire experience extra delicious. The photographers are amazing. They gave me the best photos I ever had of my surfing. In retrospect, I should have paid them extra money to ask them to take extra photos.
The hostel is perfectly located. It is only a short 5 minute walk from the downtown, yet there are banks, markets, restaurants right next to the hostel. There is even a very cool microbrewery with TVs and lawn games (Volcano Brewing) and a (weekly?) night market within two to three minute walk. I am actually really glad that the hostel is not in downtown, as it can get really loud and hectic in downtown at night.
The staff in the hostel are super friendly, helpful, and professional. I was initially anxious since I was traveling alone, but quickly got to know the staff and other travelers thanks to the hostel's cozy vibe.
I will definitely recommend this hostel and surf camp to anyone who wants to learn or improve their surfing, and enjoys a comfortable room with AC and friendly staff. *Remember to bring your own soap*

"An experience that makes you wanna move to Costa Rica! "
I was going to this surf camp alone and was very nervous that I wouldn't have fun and wouldn't make friends. But all the staff at the hostel and Marcos the instructor, were so kind and made me feel at ease right away. I am a very shy and anxious person and they somehow made me feel like I belonged there, which never happens for me. They took these amazing and professional photos of us surfing which was really cool. And they even BBQ'd for everyone at the hostel a few nights. I felt like they actually cared if I was having a good time or not, and that means a lot to me. The surf lessons were so much fun, and I learned so much in such a short time. One of the best parts was the massage after a week of surfing. It was the perfect ending to the whole trip and was probably the best massage I've ever had! I had so much fun on this trip, it seriously makes me want to look into living in Costa Rica.

The best part of the hostel and surf camp are the people. I had the time of my life thanks to ALL of them. Marko is a phenomenal teacher and provides the exact feedback that you need to hear in order to improve. He's also great company in the water and out. I would highly recommend this camp.

I had The best experience with la botella de leche. The hostel itself is really cool and nice and everybody there was extremely welcoming and fun to be around. I felt at home as soon as I arrived and I really didn’t want to leave again. The surfin was really cool, and my surf instructor, Marcos, was amazing and super funny. I had so much fun during my stay and there’s no doubt that I’m coming back!

We couldn't ask for e better first surf experience. The hostel was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Marcos our surf instructor did an amazing job. We never surfed before and after 6 days of surfing with him we can say that we are able to catch the waves by ourself. We would definitely come back for another surfcamp at botella de leche one day. We really had a great time there with nice people! :-)

"Super stay at la Botella de Leche!! "
My stay at la Botella de Leche went past waaay to quick. I was at the 8-days surf camp, and think this is the perfect package if you want to surf a lot and get great value for your money. The hostel has cool areas to hang out in, and has a kitchen if you want to make your own food. It is located in a quite part of town, so you are actually able to sleep if you want to go out surfing early in the morning. The waves in Tamarindo are perfect for improving your surfing. Pablo was a really nice instructor, being patient and explaining well about how to improve my teqnique, as well as how to read waves. The people working at the hostel are very helpful and friendly, and will do their best to help you with all kinds of questions and requests. I can really recommend this place to anyone that want to improve their surfing, staying at a cool place and having a GREAT time!!

"Solo Surfer trip - AMAZING experience: I’m a better surfer!"
Location is awesome. The surf lessons, which is the whole reason I came her, were AWESOME. Marcos is patient but pushes you. His goal was to make sure I improved as a surfer, not just to get pretty pictures. He worked on technique with me & helped me admonish bad habits. You’d never know it, since Marcos is so understated & humble - he’s an expert, very well-respected in the community. While I was at the surf camp, the Spain Travel channel came out to tape his surf lessons. He never batted an eye or made a big deal out of it. Amidst it all, my surf lessons continued without missing a single beat. I would HIGHLY recommend Marcos! La Botella De Leche is a very clean hostel, with lots of community space for meeting the others at the Hostel. The Kitchen, eating area, lounging area, pool are all GREAT - I used all of the spaces. The people are super nice - very welcoming and accommodating. Yoga was AWESOME - so needed after many days surfing. The massage - Sandra, is not just a massage therapist, she is a physiotherapist, the only one in town. The massage was amazing, and I also opted for dry-needling, which greatly alleviated my tight shoulders. I met tons of GREAT people at the hostel, and made new friends of the staff and fellow travelers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The surf instructor was very professional putting safety on first position. Always concerned about his students, explaining all very good. Giving good advises and carrying about how to improve the level of the student.

"Live and let live"
Everyone in this hostel follows his own agenda, be it from just hanging around and doing nothing until being busy the whole day and night long with surfing, adventure trips, yoga and nightlife or living as a digital nomad and doing graphic design. Because the overall vibes are so good and the team in itself including the cleaning ladies has a good spirit, you just have to fell welcomed and automatically start to relax (as stressed Western European)...

Botella da leche was the best accomodation i had in Costa Rica. The atmosphere in the hostel was very relaxed and it‘s a really cool place to stay at. The hostel also offers plenty of fun activities to do. The staff and the owner are very friendly and pleasant people and i really enjoyed staying there. The surfcamp was very good and as a beginner i learned a lot. The surfinstructor, Markos, does a great job and gives his best to give you what you‘re looking for. He‘s a very good instructor with a lot of experience and patience. The pictures taken by Sandra are also really cool.
Thank you guys very much!
Best wishes and many greetings
