Surf course for beginners
Ready to learn how to catch your first wave? Here, everybody is a beginner, nothing to be ashamed of. You will go surfing every day and you will make daily progress in your surfing, so after this six-day course, you will be a real surfer.
Day 1
- Warm-up and stretching
- Introduction of surf equipment
- Board handling at shore and water
- Explaining safety rules
- Balance on a surfboard
- Gliding in whitewater (lying)
- Try to take your first wave (standing)
Day 2
- Paddling technique
- Take-off technique in whitewater
- Theory and practical at the shore
- Take-off technique correction
Day 3 and 4
- Theory and practical at the shore
- Individual take-off correction
- Turning the board (front side)
- Acceleration and stalling techniques
- How to get to the line-up
- Paddling into the line-up using the diving technique
Day 5 and 6
- Theory and practical at the shore
- Take off in green waves
- Turning the board (backside)
- Paddling for green waves
- Straight takeoff
- Take off frontside and backside
Surf course for intermediate surfers
If you already did a surf course before but you want to improve your skills and style, or simply want to surf in a good and safe atmosphere, then this is the level for you. The instructors will evaluate your skills and you will improve your surf, learning new tricks. When you book for an intermediate course, you will have the chance to try different types of boards depending on the waves and your level.
In Homegrown's range of surfboards, they have different types and different sizes of surfboards like fishes, evolutions, minimalibus, and malibus. In a six-day intermediate surf course, you will learn to improve:
- Paddling technique
- Take off in a green wave
- Surfing frontside and backside
- Backside rail grab
- Duck dive, Eskimo roll
- Bottom turn
- Cutback
- Surf shortboards, malibus, and longboards
What is "Surf and Photo"?
Surf and Photo is a new and fresh idea to combine the surf lessons with the best sightseeing of Fuerteventura with the teaching of Mauro and Emanuele, Homegrown's professional photographers!
How does it work?
It’s very simple, every morning, you'll go normally surfing with Homegrown and in the afternoon, Mauro and Emanuele will bring you to some of the most scenic locations of the island, helping you to get the most from your photography!
Where do you go and what do you shoot?
Sunsets on the beach, the volcanoes, and all the beautiful sightseeings that make Fuerteventura a unique place in the world.
Main subjects
You will learn how to use a D-SLR camera (reflex), the principles of light, aperture/shutter speed relation, depth of field, lenses and cameras, how to create a good composition in photography, shooting techniques (landscapes, travel, action, and portraits), image processing, fun, and tan!
