Program
You’ll go through the very basic theory and techniques of kitesurfing, and Essaouira Watersports will teach you everything from how to carry your kite to integrating the kiting skills by riding on the board on the water. The goal of the experienced instructors is to make you feel confident and encourage you in a safe environment where you learn as much as possible during the course.
The goal of the course is to teach you the basics of kitesurfing. After the camp, you can keep learning with us in Essaouira or anywhere else and eventually continue practicing on your own once you become autonomous.
The very basic theory and techniques are:
- Equipment and safety theory
- Kite set-up
- Know the use of the safety systems
- Understanding the wind window and basic kite flying skills
- Hand signals
- Launch and land the kite
- Re-launch the kite
- Basic downwind body dragging and advanced upwind body dragging (water)
Location

The half-moon shaped bay of Essaouira is the perfect beach to learn kitesurfing with a great wind statistic and an almost unbelievably long sandy beach without any obstacles or rocks. Due to the Passat winds, there are good side shore winds nearly all year round. Shallow water and a sandy beach make this bay the perfect spot to learn kitesurfing in a fun and safe way.
