During this surf camp, you will be staying in a cozy apartment. This apartment consists of two to four bedrooms, a living-room, kitchen, and bathroom to be shared with other students or locals. In each apartment, there is a washing machine at your disposal. Also, bedding will be provided in all apartments.
During low season, most apartments are situated close to the Spanish language school in Spain within a walking distance of two to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, during high season, Escuela Hispalense offers accommodation in extra apartments which may be situated up to a maximum of 15 minutes on foot from the school.
Program
Kitesurfing course
This two-week kitesurfing course runs from Monday to Friday at about 15:00. The course will run for 12 hours and is divided into three parts.
Part 1
The course will take place on the beach. You will learn safety rules, theory, equipment, and kite flying. Your target is to be able to safely set up a kite, launch, and land with assistance, controlling, and steering the kite.
Part 2
You will start to get onto the water to practice self-re-launch of the kite and body drag. It will be being pulled through the water using the power produced by the wind in the kite. Your target is to be able to re-launch and steer the kite on the water, fly the kite in all areas of the wind window, maintain power and speed until you can body drag one-handed.
Part 3
This part is about the lesson on board and kite combined. You will learn the theory of waterstarts and practice on the water. This lesson will be done in pairs.
Certification
At the completion of the course, you will receive a certificate confirming the level reached.
Skill level
This kitesurfing course is not only for beginners. Advanced kitesurfers can also join this activity. The advanced kitesurfers' level can be integrated into running courses or get tailor-made lessons according to own needs. For example: jumping, transition, tricks, etc. This will be done within the group.
Spanish course
The Spanish course is for non-beginners. There will be four lessons daily (50 minutes each) in which the four skills which are listening, speaking, reading, and writing are integrated with a practical approach and communicative practice. The lesson will start from Monday to Friday at 09:30 to 13:30. Your half-hour break is at 11:30. The classes consist of a maximum of eight students.
Location
This surf camp will take place in Tarifa, Spain. Both the beach and the town center can also be reached on foot within a few minutes from your accommodation.

Arrival by airplane
If you arrive by plane, your destination airports are either Málaga Airport (AGP) or Jerez Airport (XRY). From there, you can take a bus, use Escuela Hispalense's transfer service (cost: from 100 EUR), or rent a car in the airport to get to the language school in Spain.
According to your information about your arrival time in Tarifa, Escuela Hispalense will meet you at the Spanish language school and take you to your accommodation.
If you would like to be collected from the bus station in Tarifa, please inform Escuela Hispalense of your exact arrival time in advance. The charges for the pick-up are 5 EUR for arrivals between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Arrivals at the school or the bus station at other times will be charged as follows:
- Arrivals later than 10 p.m.: 10 EUR
- Arrivals later than 12 a.m.: 20 EUR
All charges for pick-ups should be paid in cash to the driver upon arrival. Irrespective of the planned arrival time, Escuela Hispalense requests that you inform them in advance in case of any change or delay.
Cancellation Policy
- A reservation requires a deposit of 35% of the total price.
- The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
- The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
