The space

The "La Casita" apartment was designed specifically to accommodate guests visiting Cabarete. It is part of a larger house and tucked away in a charming tropical garden that feels like a hidden gem.

This cozy one-bedroom apartment features Cuban-style touches and includes a private patio overlooking lush greenery. Inside, you will find one bedroom, a separate bathroom, a kitchen, and a dining area. It is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. The apartment is located in a gated community, just a five-minute walk from both the beach and downtown Cabarete.

The apartment

"La Casita" is a comfortable guest apartment set in a beautiful tropical garden next to the main house. It includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area. Right next to it, behind a blue door, is a shared laundry room.

The apartment is inspired by Cuban design, with traditional colonial-style floor tiles adding charm and character. The private patio is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or relax in the evening. The garden provides plenty of shade, keeping the space relatively cool and protected from wind and noise.

The bedroom is quiet and peaceful, and the fully equipped kitchen is ideal for guests who enjoy cooking.

Guest access

The apartment is located in a secure gated community next to Ali's Surfcamp. To enter the garden, guests use a private gate, as the property is enclosed by a wall that ensures privacy and safety. Street parking is easy to find. The gated community, ProCap, is conveniently located near downtown Cabarete.

The beach, supermarket, and restaurants are all within a five to ten-minute walk. There is also a restaurant next door, which is perfect for evenings when you prefer not to cook.

Other highlights

The owners are passionate about kitesurfing and surfing and will be happy to offer advice on where and how to enjoy these activities.

Take it easy and settle in. Familiarize yourself with Cabarete and its surroundings. Enjoy the tropical garden, beachside cafés, and relaxed pace. Rest up because the adventure begins tomorrow. If you booked the pick-up service, a reliable driver will meet you at the airport and bring you straight to your accommodation in Cabarete.

  • Morning: Choose between a surf session at Playa Encuentro or a peaceful yoga class. Encuentro offers consistent waves and warm waters, ideal for all levels. Prefer to relax? Enjoy a coffee at the beach.
  • Afternoon: Kiteboarding Lesson 1 — safety, equipment setup, and basic kite control on land.

Take a break from kiteboarding and enjoy a relaxed day. You can join an optional morning yoga session or spend time at the beach.

  • Lunch suggestion: Wilson’s at La Boca, a local gem serving Dominican-style fried fish.

Day 7: Free day and pizza night

  • Morning: Surf or yoga session
  • Afternoon: Optional kiteboarding session (booked on location)
  • Evening: Dinner at La Chabola, known for its authentic Italian pizza and live music nights.

Day 9: Adventure or final kite session

  • Morning: Surf or yoga session
  • Afternoon: Optional final kiteboarding session with me or another adventure activity.

Day 10: Departure

It will be time to go home. Make sure you arrive at the airport at least two to three hours before departure. If you’ve booked the drop-off service, your transportation will be arranged for a smooth and timely ride to the airport.

The goal is to facilitate this adventure by teaching you kitesurfing and guiding you in Cabarete. By the end of the trip, I hope you will have enjoyed your vacation by experiencing a new culture and learning a life-changing sport.

Location

Cabarete is a small coastal town on the north shore of the Dominican Republic, known for its consistent trade winds, warm ocean water, and vibrant watersports scene. It’s one of the top destinations in the Caribbean for kiteboarding, surfing, and wing foiling, with ideal conditions almost year-round.

Despite its size, Cabarete has a lot to offer. The town has a relaxed, international vibe, with a mix of locals, expats, and travelers from all over the world. You’ll find beachfront cafés, healthy food spots, yoga studios, live music, and small shops all within walking distance of the main beach.

Most people go there for the wind and waves, but they stay for the friendly community and the simple, outdoor lifestyle.

Food

Meals are not included in the price. The accommodation has a kitchen. The beach, supermarket, and restaurants are all within a five to ten-minute walk. There is also a restaurant next door, which is perfect for evenings when you prefer not to cook. Delicious local food recommendations and community events are included in the package.

Extra surf lessons and yoga sessions will be at an additional cost.

Weather-Related Refund Policy

Kiteboarding is a wind-dependent sport. While Cabarete is known as one of the most consistent kiteboarding destinations in the world, wind is a natural element and cannot be guaranteed every day.

If there are no windy days during your stay, the cost of kiteboarding lessons will be fully refunded. However, accommodation costs are non-refundable.

To reduce the chance of low-wind days, we recommend avoiding bookings during the hurricane season (September to November), when wind patterns are less reliable.

That said, Cabarete offers plenty of alternative activities on light-wind days — including surfing, horseback riding, waterfall tours, yoga, live music, and bachata nights — so there's always something fun to do.
