The DE SILVA Palmresort is located 200 meters far from DE SILVA Windresort at the entrance road of DE SILVA. DE SILVA Palmresort is a more convenient hotel with comfortable rooms and a big swimming pool. DE SILVA Palmresort is the perfect hotel for couples and families who are also Watersport fans.

Program
One of the best Sri Lankan Windsurf champions, Upul De Silva, established the Resort in 2012. At the windsurf station, you get everything you need and they equip you with the right gear to learn windsurfing in Sri Lanka. During this holiday, you will have six hours of training plus free two hours. Each training will be two hours per day for a total of three days of windsurf training.

De Silva Windresort Kalpitiya
De Silva Windresort Kalpitiya was one of the four entrepreneurs that started kitesurfing in Kalpitiya, the only school that is led by a local and offers Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, Wing-Foiling and Stand Up Paddles. Upul De Silva, several times National Champion, brought the first Kitesurfing to Sri Lanka from Europe in 2006. The resort is officially awarded as the best water sports center by Sri Lankan Tourism Association. They offer professional equipment from North and professional instructors (VDWS and IKO).Their motto: "We'll make you ride!"

Upul De Silva
Upul Priyantha De Silva has been practicing windsurf since 1994. He first started at the Betota River, Beruwela, in Sri Lanka, and only four years later he qualified himself for the National Olympic Team of Sri Lanka. From 1999, he started on several competitions for his country. During this time, he could participate in a lot of competitions like the Olympic Asian Games in Doha 2006 (fourth times Sri Lanka Champion) and World Cups. He managed many years of several windsurf stations in Austria, and started his kiteboarding career in 2004 when he fell in love with this amazing sport!
Location
This windsurf holiday will take place in the Kalpitiya Lagoon (big lagoon), one of the best kite spots in the world. It is a safe and easy kiteboarding territory for beginners, ideal for advanced to improve, and fast and perfect for freestylers who want a really big flat water lagoon! Moreover, the wind blows all year long with two high seasons.

Arrival by airplane
Please book your flight to arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). Transfer from and to this airport is available on request. Just give De Silva Windresort Kalpitiya your flight details and they can arrange a transfer for 70 EUR. The drivers know exactly how to find the resort. Arrival by bus
Take a tuk-tuk from the airport to the Colombo-Puttalam highway. From there, take a bus to Puttalam. On the way to Puttalam, there is a junction called "Palavi" which is exactly five kilometers before Puttalam. Get off the bus at Palavi Junction and from there, you have two options to choose from: either take another bus to Kalpitiya or hire a tuk-tuk. Once you reach Kalpitiya by bus, take a tuk-tuk to the resort.
