The Da Silva Surf Camp Portugal has one double room, one triple room, one terrace room for 2-4 persons, one four-bed room, one seven-bed room, and three separate wooden houses (Tiny Houses). In total, there are spaces for 32 people. But this is distributed quite well, as there are many corners and niches in which one can retreat, for example, if one wants to read a good book in peace.
1. The rooms in the main house
The double room, the 3-bed room, and the terrace room are on the first floor of the main house and share a bathroom with a shower on the ground floor, while the terrace room also has a private toilet. The girl’s 4-bed room is located on the ground floor of the main house next to the cozy fireplace room. The 7-bed room is located in an annex next to the kitchen. The shared rooms each have their own shower room. The 7-bed room also has a warm outside shower.
The communal kitchen, where breakfast is served every morning, is located on the ground floor next to the large covered outdoor area, where the barbecue evenings are also held.
Quarto Zambujeira, double room
The double room on the first floor of the main house can be reached via the internal staircase from the kitchen or the fireplace room. The room has two single beds, which can also be pushed together to form a double bed. If necessary, a cot can also be added. The window offers a great view over the wide landscape of the opposite village Zambujeira. The bathroom with shower on the ground floor is shared with guests staying in the other two rooms on the first floor. In the room with the fireplace, however, there is a guest WC for urgent cases.
Quarto Abelheira, double or triple room
Also located on the first floor of the main house, if you look out of the window of this room, you can see the village of Abelheira on the horizon. The room has a double bed and a plateau (gallery) with a single mattress. Perfect for a couple with a child or 3 adults who love each other very much. The bathroom on the ground floor is also shared with the other two rooms on the first floor.
2. Caravans
Elkes Caravan
You can also book a camper van. For two persons, this has the advantage that they are alone in the caravan and do not have to pay the double room surcharge. The caravan has an electricity connection, the built-in toilet must not be used. Of course the guests are allowed to use the bathroom and kitchen in the main house, as well as the whole outside area.
Caravan M & M
Caravan M & M is a cosy caravan with space for 2 people. For two people, this has the advantage that they are alone in the caravan and do not have to pay the double room supplement. The caravan has an electricity connection, the built-in toilet may not be used. Of course, guests may share the bathroom and kitchen in the main house, as well as the entire outdoor area.
Andi's Caravan – VW LT28 (1987)
Andi’s caravan is a vintage VW LT28 from 1987, a charming vehicle lovingly maintained over the years. Today, this iconic model is considered a classic, radiating plenty of nostalgic charm. The caravan occupies an elevated position, located directly above our three brand-new Tiny Houses Deluxe, offering spectacular sunrise views every morning.
Inside, there’s a cosy overhead bed above the driver's cabin that comfortably sleeps two. Additionally, the dining area converts into a spacious double bed by folding down the table and rearranging the seat cushions. This setup is perfect for a couple with one or two children, although theoretically, the caravan can accommodate up to four adults if they're comfortable being close. Andi’s VW LT28 is ideal for anyone seeking nostalgic camper vibes and relaxation close to nature.
Program
With Da Silva Surfcamp, you can learn to surf easily and safely. They have the best surfing equipment for all levels and bring you to the most beautiful beaches with the best waves in Europe. Since 2016, the Da Silva Surfcamp performs surf classes with the internal Da Silva Surfschool and helps beginners and advanced surfers on the board.
Depending on the wave conditions and level of the students, the classes take place at different surf spots a maximum of 20 minutes drive from Praia da Areia Branca. It is important to note that these are beaches that are not as crowded as the famous beaches of Peniche.
The surf courses are usually held from Monday to Friday. However, some sessions may have to be canceled due to weather or wave conditions. In this case, alternative activities are offered, such as excursions to the surrounding area, SUP sessions, skateboard sessions, or similar.
At the end of the complete course (beginner and/or advanced) each student should be able to stand on the board (take-off) or surf in the unbroken part of the wave (green water). Individual successes depend heavily on the motivation, talent, and general physical fitness of the student. The price includes a bus shuttle, surfboard and wetsuit, theoretical and practical lessons, and insurance.
Beginners
- Theory of weather, tides, currents, and waves
- Instruction in the matter (surfing material)
- safety regulations
- Right of way in water
- Paddling, sitting, turning
- Surfing in the white part of the wave
Location
Da Silva Surf Camp Portugal is a typical Portuguese cottage where one can spend an unforgettable surf holiday and can learn surfing fast and safe, including an intense impression of the Portuguese way of life and culture. Da Silva Surf camp Portugal is located amid nature without any traffic nearby.
The site is surrounded by spacious fields and one has a fantastic overall view over the green landscape and the wide valley up to the opposite villages. From the huge sun deck, one can comfortably see the blue sea and the seaside resort Praia da Areia Branca while laying in the hammock. At dawn, one can experience gorgeous sunsets.
There are several routes through the landscape to the beach - by foot within 20 minutes. With the beach cruiser, which one can rent at the camp, it won't take 10 minutes and by car via the highway, one will be at the beach within 3 minutes.
Although you are so close to the Atlantic Ocean, you will feel like you are somewhere in the country far away from the hustle and bustle of beach life.
Lourinhã
Dustin will be amazed when the gates of the Dino Park in Lourinhã, the capital of the dinosaurs, are opened in 2018. And certainly, the museum shop will have some Hoodies available for the Stranger Things protagonist. But will they be as successful as those of the Science Museum of Minnesota? Anyway, a friendly small town has a skate park and a huge ocean to offer.
Praia da Areia Branca
Praia da Areia Branca is located 70 km north of Lisbon and not far (2km) from the surf camp. Far away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, small cafés, cozy restaurants, and a relaxed nightlife make this small coastal town immediately attractive.
In summer many Portuguese come to Praia da Areia Branca for a swim and there is more action. Nevertheless, on the long, white sandy beaches everyone finds his place. The often deserted surf spots offer perfect waves for every surfer - whether chicken or turtle.
Only 15km further north, Peniche is one of the most legendary surfing areas in Europe, with its very own season’s highlight, the World Surf League tour stop, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal. By the way, also in Peniche at home and frequent stop of the surf school, the Fatum Surfboards Factory.

But there is also a pizzeria, a particularly good Indian restaurant right on the beach, and a fast-food snack bar on the main road.
