My sister and I spent wonderful two weeks in Bio Surf Camp in August! Pablo and his team do a great job! It is a good place to stay for vacations especially for surf lessons. The Camp is located in hilly green place near to the city center but in the same time you can feel the nature atmosphere. Thanks to Ina and Eric the camp is very clean despite of many people living there. Beach is a bit far, about 40 minutes walking on the road with a beatiful view. Yes, the way home is upstairs, but it is an additional training for surfing lessons)) We really had a good time, surfing classes were fantastic! Highly reccomend!

The camp is very nicely kept and truly lives up to its name. Getting there, you instantly feel at ease with your surrounding. Pablo, the owner, and the staff including the trainers were all pretty kind and welcoming. Absolutely no flaws here to mention.

Accomodation is basic. Since it may rain, even in summer, temperatures can get quite low, I recommend everyone to bring warm clothing.

Although the camp is nicely located within a hilly area, it is not close to either one of the beaches. Walking distance may be 20 to 30 minutes downhill. Unfortunately that makes it rather difficult to rent surfborads and go surfing yourself, unless you share a ride with others who have a car.

Do not count on working wifi in the camp – it must be a matter of mental disconnection, I guess :) Organization was here and there a bit loose, but well – so be it.

    Surf-Training

I took part in a surf class for beginners. Classes were offered every day at either La Concha or Los Locos. We were usually a group of at least ten people. Since we shared the beach often with other surf schools, I felt that group size was sometimes too big. Surf training took usually two hours and started with a little warm up session, followed by some routines in the sea. During the training, trainers focussed on giving us a push, so we could take on the waves. A little bit more of personal advice would have been great, though.

All in all, for me – as a complete beginner – surf training was pretty ok and I always left the sea with a large smile and good vibes :)

Surf training is accompanied by classes on surf theory, about every second day. A great plus: Every day around midday the trainers offered a stretching class.

    Plus

The camp suits pretty much everyone, covering all ages and vocations and trainers were doing a great job with anyone during training. Still, I noticed that almost all trainers were particularly fond of children. In general, the camp seems to suit families quite well, given its remote and near-natural location.
