Day 1: Arrival and orientation
Your adventure begins as you arrive at our base in Torres Vedras. Imagine starting your epic surf trip in Portugal from the charming town of Torres Vedras. Nestled just 15 minutes away from the sun-kissed beaches of Santa Cruz and Praia Azul, and conveniently positioned between the renowned surf havens of Ericeira and Peniche, this picturesque town is the perfect launching pad for your adventure.
Get settled into your cozy campervan accommodation and join us for a welcome orientation session. In Praia Azul or Santa Cruz, you’ll meet your fellow surf enthusiasts and our experienced instructors who will guide you through the upcoming days of sun, sea, and surf.
Day 2: Surf lesson 1
Each day, you meticulously select prime surf spots and tides for your lessons, offering two sessions with a break in between. Learn the fundamentals of surfing from the expert instructors as you ride the waves and build your confidence in the water. After your surf sessions, join the crew for activities or spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach or exploring the charming surroundings at your own pace. Or just set off to explore the natural beauty, pristine beaches, captivating waves, and nearby cities with your campervan. You have the freedom to choose where you'll spend the night, whether it's under the stars or at a cozy campsite.
Days 3 - 5: Surf lessons and free exploration
Return to the beach for your second or third surf lesson of the week, depending on the package selected. Building upon the skills learned in your first lessons, challenge yourself to catch longer waves and refine your technique under the guidance of our experienced instructors. In between lessons, enjoy the freedom to explore the surrounding area at your own pace. Whether you choose to relax on the beach or embark on your own adventure, the choice is yours.
Day 6 - 7: Free exploration days or another surfing day
You’ll make the plan accordingly to your expectations and Ocean conditions. Today is yours to explore! Take advantage of a full day to explore the wonders of Portugal's Atlantic Coast on your own terms. Grab the keys to your campervan and set out to discover hidden gems, from charming coastal towns to breathtaking natural landscapes.

Hi, my name is Pedro Santos and I was born and raised in Portugal. Experienced surf instructor with over 10 years of professional surf coaching. Since I discovered my passion for surfing, it has inspired me to travel the world, including far flung destinations such as Australia, Indonesia…..etc. I have worked and travelled with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and searching for “la bela vida” has become my philosophy. Surf and Travel in Portugal with Atlantic Coast Campers is my path to happiness! Join us!
Robert Tauer
Robert comes from Germany and started to surf in NZ at 16. He studied Business and Engineering, but after the first season working with Atlantic Coast Surf School…well, he loved it so much that now he repeats it and in the Winter goes to the mountains to teach ski and snowboard. He says: “ahh I really love this season working and I wanna do it more!” He’s super talented dealing with people, careful, patient and gentle with kids. He speaks perfect English, understands Spanish and learns Portuguese. Besides surfing, he haves a passion/dream. Building ecologically sustainable wooden surfboards.
Pedro Baião
Pedro B is a local boy! Former lifeguard at the beach. He studied nature and sports guiding, but after watching Atlantic Coast Surf School work every day while on lifeguard duty, well he joined the team! He’s super talented in dealing with people, careful, patient, and gentle with kids. He speaks perfect English, and understands Spanish and Portuguese is his native language.
Luis Pinheiro
Luis is also a local! He's a surf addict always in good mood and motivated to teach. With a martial arts background, he's used to different teaching approaches. He helps build ecologically sustainable and responsible operations! He speaks perfect English, and understands Spanish and Portuguese is his native language. Great mood and good vibes all around!
Rodrigo Silva
Rodrigo is a local boy! Always smiling and singing! Studying nursing. He's ready to help you and making you stand up on the board! Talented and motivated for your surf holidays trip!
