You will be accommodated in a farmhouse-style apartment. The apartments are self-catering and, for this reason, they have been fully equipped to meet your needs. You are welcome to use the television, microwave, gas cooker, electric oven, or fireplace and enjoy the nice view of the Luz Valley on your terrace or balcony. There are two kinds of apartments, a one-bedroom apartment, and a two-bedroom apartment. Optional two extra persons can also sleep in the lounge on the couches.
In your backyard, you will find a huge swimming pool surrounded by a big garden where you can relax. There is also a children’s playground and table tennis equipment. You and your neighbors can organize barbecue evenings as there is a special area for grilling and hanging out. Also, with the free parking spaces, you do not have to worry about parking your car. The location is just perfect as it is a short walk to the beach, cafes, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and organic stores.

ASA Algarve Sea Adventures only allows dogs from Nov - Feb. There is an additional cleaning fee of 60 EUR in a one-bedroom apartment and 90 EUR in a two-bedroom apartment when you bring a dog. Please send an inquiry if you want to know more about this.

This Kids and Family Surf School is the perfect place for your family’s surfing vacation in the Algarve.
ASA Algarve Sea Adventures offers surf courses for kids aged 6 years or older, as well as for the whole family. ASA Algarve Sea Adventures ensures that your little ones and you are introduced to this exciting sport in a safe and fun way. Kids under the age of 13 need a little more supervision. ASA Algarve Sea Adventures provides this important individual attention, as well as a safe and caring atmosphere, by operating at a ratio of one surf instructor per four kids.
Small surfers can learn surfing faster, easier, and differently from adults. Therefore, the lessons are especially tailored to children. For parents joining the lessons, ASA Algarve Sea Adventures carefully chooses beaches with a strong focus on the needs of younger surfers. The team does their best to make your day at the beach one of the top highlights of your vacation and possibly your first family surf trip.
Skill levels are suitable for different stages of learning. The first time level is designed for participants with no prior surfing experience. The white water beginner level focuses on developing take offs in white water waves. The white water intermediate level is for those who are confident with take offs in white water and are beginning to work on turns in white water.
Lessons take place at Quinta Formosinho in Praia da Luz. The course usually runs in two daily sessions. The early bird session runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., while the lazy afternoon session runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The meeting time is always 15 minutes before the lesson starts. All surfers are equipped with a wetsuit and a soft board.
The Kids Surf Lesson is available for children aged 6 years or older. If a child enjoys the ocean, is able to swim, and is eager to surf, this is an ideal time to begin. If a child is afraid of the ocean, ASA Algarve Sea Adventures recommends waiting one more year before joining the first surf lesson.
Parents are welcome to participate in the surf lesson. Please note that approximately 80 percent of the focus is on the children. Parents will receive guidance during the session; however, those looking for a fully dedicated adult surf lesson are advised to book a different surf package.
For the surf lesson, each child should bring a bottle of water with a minimum of 1 liter, a snack, sun protection with protection factor 50 plus that is water resistant and ideally ocean friendly, any personal medical belongings if needed, and a signed form from a parent or legal guardian including a contact number.
ASA Algarve Sea Adventures stands out through a personalized teaching approach, offering a 1 to 4 instructor to student ratio for kids and a 1 to 5 ratio for mixed groups. This ensures focused attention, safety, and a supportive learning environment for all participants.

Thorsten, fondly called Toto by his peers and students, will be in charge of your daily adrenaline schedule. His goal is to enlarge your activity desire each day and for you to have tons of fun. He and his team administer the dose of action according to your level. If you have any doubts about your recipe of activity, you can rest assure that you are welcome to let him know anytime.
Location
This camp will take place in the Quinta Formosinho apartment complex in Praia da Luz, an administrative subdivision located about six kilometers from the municipality of Lagos in the Algarve region of Portugal. It is a renovated farmhouse exuding an authentic Algarve feel with its green surroundings, pool, spacious garden, children’s playground, table tennis provision, and barbecue area. It takes just seven minutes of walking to the beach and to the city center.

Driving directions from Faro Airport (FAO)
- Once you are at the roundabout leading to the motorway, head in the direction of Sagres and Vila do Bispo on the N125.
- You will soon get into a newly-built roundabout.
- Take the exit to Luz, the one after the exit to Sagres and Vila do Bispo, and stay on that road for five minutes.
- After that, you will see white buildings on the left-hand side and at the entrance, you see a small sign that says Quinta Formosinho.
- If you drive past the brown sign that says Praia, you have missed the apartment complex because it is located 100 meters in front of the sign.
