What's the best time to go surfing in Unawatuna?

The best time to surf in Unawatuna is from November to March, with higher waves and perfect conditions. Unawatuna is known for its point break off the coast of Galle, and its conflicting wind and swell patterns. Although the most consistent swells are found from April to October, so are frequent SW onshores. It’s still possible to surf in the morning, but expect rain, dirty water, and strong winds during this time. For better surf conditions, it’s therefore recommended to visit the South West coast from November to March, when waves are typically 0,5-2 meters (2-6 ft) high, and the water is clean.
