Find and compare 398+ Surf Camps in Morocco

First discovered as a surfing paradise by Jimi Hendrix in the '70, the Moroccan coastline is a true surfing destination now. With a beautiful long stretched coastline and a longer summer than any other Mediterranean place, Morocco is a great place to surf from December to the beginning of March. The most popular places to surf in Morocco are Taghazout and Agadir. On a surf camp in Morocco, you can learn how to surf or find waves suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers - it's great for anyone! Get rid of muscle aches in a traditional Moroccan hammam, and with a cup of fresh mint tea after surfing.

What are the best surfing spots in Morocco?

  • Taghazout: this area is especially well-known for its perfect right-hands. The most exciting waves in the area are Boilers, Dracula’s, Hash Point, Killer Point, and KM11.
  • Tamraght: explore this area for plenty of spots for both beginners (Anza and Banana Beach) or advanced surfers (Mystery, Anchor point, La Source, and Killer Point).
  • Essaouira: with amazing surf spots as Safi Beach and Essaouira Beach, these sandy breaks are perfect for beginners and intermediate surfers.
  • Sidi Kaouki: this long sandy beach provides ideal surf conditions for intermediate and advanced surfers, with long waves on low wind and high tide.
  • Mirleft: this sandy and rock surf spot is great for all surf levels and allows for having an easy surf with few other surfers.
  • Sidi Ifni: descend the old Spanish stairs to get to reef-rocky Sidi Ifni. This less crowded spot is visited by locals and internationals, and good for all surf levels.
  • Oualidia: this beach is a perfect spot for learning how to surf, but offers waves to all surf levels.

What's the best time to go surfing in Morocco?

With a coastline of 1,835 kilometers long, it’s a matter of being at the right place at the right time. The fairly cold winters and hot summers, and the cool breeze off the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea on the coast, make Morocco a great surf country during most months of the year. The best months to surf in Morocco, anywhere along the coastline, are September and October with their first winter swells and absence of wind. It’s best to avoid surfing in Morocco at the end of March and in April as there is constant shore wind and lots of rain. In the winter months, the area around Taghazout and Agadir is known for its good surfing conditions between December to the beginning of March. In the summer months, travel northwards to the area Oualidia, Casablanca, and to the north of Rabat for better surf conditions.
