LTH is a new hostel for everyone who is looking for a nice, friendly, and quiet place by the beach. Located in a small beach village near Lourinhã and Peniche, Portugal, with the sea just 3 minute's walk away, and known for its variety of natural environments, that go from almost 10 km’s of sand beaches to country-side landscapes.
It’s also worldwide famous for its archaeological finds that make this region one of the most important areas of the Jurassic period, and it’s not rare to find fossils while you stroll along the coastline.
You can also enjoy the historic monuments all around the west as well as the wine routes with the possibility to participate in a wine tasting.
Pointed with lots of restaurants, markets, grocery stores, and other facilities, you’ll find it's easy and relaxing to live in Areia Branca. There are also proposals for the night which go from calm and quiet beach bars to the clubs in the area with lots of energy.
For all this, the Lemon Tree Hostel is the perfect place for your holidays and to get in touch with the Portuguese culture and its unique environment.
Programme
How it works
You're welcome to start the surf course any day of the week. You will surf once a day, and each surf session lasts approximately 2 hours. So if you spend your days behind the desk, don't forget to practice some sports before your surfing holidays.
The surf spot and class schedule choice is made according to the surf instructor's experience, considering safety, sea and weather conditions, participants skills (and sure, variety), splitting groups, whenever it seems convenient and sending them to different spots that best match the skills of the corresponding group.
Depending on the conditions and on the level of the students, the lessons can take place at different surf spots within a range of 20 kilometers from the surf school (15 minutes by car). In this case, you will be away for lessons for a total 3 hours.
It all starts at the surf school base, 2 minutes' walking from the beach. There you find a dressing and chill out area, with shower.
At the surf lessons, you have a ratio of 1 surf instructor and 1 surf assistant for a group of 8 participants.

Filipe Antunes
Filipe surfs since he started to walk and he is a local surfer. He's been a surf instructor since 2005. Teaching most of the times at the "improvers" surfing lessons, he will help you enjoy the ride of your life!

It has something magical that is difficult to describe in words. You can easily fall in love with this small paradise.
Praia da Areia Branca is a small seashore village that has not yet been massively occupied by tourism and in where you can have contact with the local population in a calm and safe environment. At Praia da Areia Branca, you have at your disposal several restaurants, bars, and cafes for different tastes, a mini-golf course, a futsal field, and tennis courts.
With beautiful beaches all along the coast, you can say that the beaches nearby have a mystic aura: filled with a great amount of biodiversity and geodiversity, all of which have hidden treasures to be found. The biggest of all is, with no doubt, the perfect sunset that happens over and over again, once per day, and each of them so differently. You can walk everywhere!

Don't expect this to be a conventional surf camp. Ripar Surf Camp doesn't hate tourism tours. But they do hate tours without a soul. Do you want to be driven around on a black funeral car and listen to a standard speech? Hope not. Ripar Surf Camp offers a meaningful manner of travel, emphasizing local knowledge and emotional experiences.
Ripar Surf Camp's team is made up of Portuguese people passionate about travel, Lisbon, and the ocean. They are all crazy in love with Portugal. And they want to share it with you.
Massage
Get even more connected! Ripar Surf Camp offers a special massage therapy which helps alleviate physical exhaustion, tensions, and other minor conditions that surf students may experience after an intensive surf session. The objective of the therapy is to restore the flexibility of the joints by loosening minor muscle contractions and correcting mechanical imbalances caused by the unusual exercise.
Shiatsu massage is based on the principles of Chinese traditional medicine. It consists of applying pressure to the acupoints, in which the therapist uses fingers, palms, feet, and his / her own weight, without using any oils or creams.
The most important benefits are stimulation of the self-regulatory system of the organism, deep relaxation of body and mind, and the release of energetic tensions and blockages. It will also support the natural and free flow of the vital energy (Qi) and the contact with the body and inner self. A pure moment of heaven!
