Akih Pods Hostel is a surf-oriented hostel that loves to host surf-minded individuals who are eager to improve their skills in this sport. The accommodation has pod-style beds that provide self-sufficiency and privacy. Each pod in the room features:

- Safety lockers and privacy curtains
All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning units for your comfort. The hostel has communal areas that include a mini gym, a yoga deck, a co-work space with fast Wi-Fi, an equipped surf-rack, clean bathrooms, and an amazing kitchen to cook your meals. The staff can help you organize tours and excursions and also rent you ATVs or transportation within the country. Akih Pods Hostel has sleek and contemporary pod-style accommodations that meet the needs of all guests. The staff is friendly, efficient, surf-knowledgeable, and eager to make your surf dream vacation come true. There are three different types of accommodation:
- Shared dorm room of six
- Shared dorm room of six with a private bathroom
- Jungle spacious dorm room of seven
Facilities are clean, decorated, and furnished with love and care for guests. They offer practical, economical yet comfortable accommodations. Check in from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Check out at 10:00 a.m. Reception hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. They do not accept customers younger than 18 years old years of age. They are pet-friendly. Air-conditioning is only from 8:00 p.m. till 8:00 a.m. They provide lockers to secure your valuables and belongings, therefore the establishment does not take responsibility for any theft, lost, or stolen items.

Enjoy the legendary and amazing beach breaks and point breaks in Santa Teresa Beach and its surroundings. At Akih Pods Hostel, they partner up with guaranteed the best surf instructors in town. This camp is focused on improving your surf skills through everyday lessons and guidance from certified teachers. Their goal is to provide an unforgettable experience that guests will never forget. Welcome to surf town Santa Teresa Beach. A welcome smoothie and friendly staff will be ready to greet you at the hostel. Akih Pods Hostel team shows you their facilities which include a yoga deck and mini-jungle gym.
They provide an in-depth explanation of different surf breaks in the Santa Teresa Beach area and surroundings. Surf equipment expectations, terms, and conditions are also explained. There are five surf lessons (three hours each) with a certified local instructor, times depending on the daily tides and weather conditions. Instructors are eager to help students become better surfers and encourage their to improve their ocean skills within a fun yet safe environment.
All levels are welcome to this program as instructors are committed to providing guests with personalized tips. After surfing and a shower, daily breakfast is served between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. or later if surf time dictates. You can integrate your surf experience into your everyday health routine in their facilities. A yoga deck, mats, and gym equipment are provided by the hostel. Snorkeling equipment is also provided for each guest to use throughout their stay in the many different natural tide pools that are around this zone.
Professeurs
Vladimir Montoya
Vladimir is a local instructor knowledgable of the many types of waves in Santa Teresa. He teaches beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers to improve their skills in the water and provides knowledge of the local beach breakes of the Peninsula.
Pablo Rodriguez
Pablo is a local of Santa Teresa and has been surfing and teaching others how to surf these waves for over 15 years. Focused on technique, Pablo helps beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers improve their skills while maintaining a positive attitude in and outside the water.
Lieu
The holiday will take place in Santa Teresa, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica. Located in the heart of town and surrounded by jungle, Akih Pods Hostel is situated only five minutes away from amazing beach breaks and point breaks in Playa del Carmen and Santa Teresa Beach. Beginners, intermediate, and professional surfers and yogis visit the town to enjoy disconnect in one of Costa Rica's and the world's most consistent beach breaks.
They are within walking distance of the surf, supermarket, bars, restaurants, and surf shops in town. Even better, the hostel is filled with nature and magically retreated from the sounds and fast pace of the main road. Located in the Southern Peninsula of Nicoya, this area is surrounded by national parks, waterfalls, wildlife, and a fishing lifestyle. Expect to find a family-owned hostel tracing its path in a developing town filled with energy and contagious surf culture.

Arrival by airplane
Please book your flight to arrive at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. Akih Pods Hostel can arrange transportation from the airport directly to the hostel or they can arrange a transport to pick you up from your destination.
Arrival by bus
Transportes Cobano is the bus company that departs daily at 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. from San Jose's bus station called 7-10. You might have to change buses in Cobano and take the last bus to Santa Teresa.
Arrival by ferry / boat
From Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), you can drive to Navierry ferry in Puntarenas. If possible, it is recommended to buy the ticket previously online. The ferry ride is about one and a half hours. The ferry lands in Paquera and another two hours of fields and jungle drive to the magical Santa Teresa town.
Arrival by shuttle
They arrange a shuttle to pick you up from your destination and take you to the hostel.
