Je recommande d’apprendre le surf grâce à ce camp surf, mon niveau a bien progressé à travers cette semaine.

J’ai prévu 5 journées de surf mais ça m’a tellement plus que j’ai prolongé pour en faire 6.

First-rate experience from the organisation to the tuition, accommodation and activities. I was in two minds about going so early in the season as a solo traveller but I'm so glad I did, the weather was better than it had any right to be and the ocean warmer than I was expecting too, and we were all looked after so well in the surf. The instructors were excellent, each one with a different style of teaching that complemented each other; as slightly more than a novice surfer but certainly not much more than that, usually I just go gung-ho into the water and hope for the best, but the instructors all gave me key pieces of advice which have stayed with me.

Out of the water, the activities made it feel like a proper holiday (even in such a short period - my stay was just 3 days!) and we were so well looked after by Isa and Cynthia in the Surf House. The vibe they create there is chilled and friendly, and it has such a positive effect on the guests - everyone was easy to get on with even though we'd just met, the shared experience of fellow solo travellers made it all the more enjoyable.

Ein herzlicher Empfang, man hat sich direkt gut aufgenommen gefühlt.

Die Hosts im Haus und die Instructors waren allesamt klasse. Gutes Frühstück und immer leckere veggie Lunch Pakete für den Tag, abends gemeinsam auf die Rooftop Bar und danach essen. Alles kann, nichts muss!

Das Gemeinschaftsgefühl, welches sich innerhalb kurzer Zeit entwickelt hat, war richtig toll.

Vom Anfänger bis Fortgeschrittenen beim Surfen, es wurde immer mit gefeiert und gejubelt, wenn es auf den Wellen Erfolge gab. Die Instructors nahmen sich immer wieder Zeit, jedem einzelnen spezifische Tipps zu geben.

Auch gab es eine Video Analyse, wo wir nochmal hilfreiche Tipps bekamen.

Mein Aufenthalt war über Halloween, dort gab es ein eigenes Housemade Rooftop-Dinner im Halloween Motto und danach ging es gemeinsam zur Party, wo einer der Besitzer als DJ aufgelegt hat. Was ein toller Abend!

Ich werde bestimmt wieder kommen, es war eine unglaublich tolle Erfahrung!

Man fährt als große Gruppe zum Strand und dort wird man dann in kleinere Gruppen unterteilt, je nachdem wie weit man im Surfen ist, sodass auf alle Bedürfnisse eingegangen wird.

Das Mittagessen ist sehr lecker und es wird auch auf verschiedenen Ernährungsweisen Rücksicht genommen, wenn man es vorher anspricht.

The homely vibe of the

Surf lessons were properly paced easy an the instructors were super nice and supportive. The stay at the hostel was super fun and cosy the hosts really took great care of us and were really nice. Couldn't been better a better decision to book this surf camp.<3

Hosts are really doing a good job to make you feel like you are not just a guest but part of a friend group there. Besides surfing, activities are also fun and the place is amazing.

All instructors are amazing. The organization is always perfectly respected and the atmosphere is magical. In addition, wonderful company evenings are organized, excellent for solo travelers.

The atmosphere was lovely at the surfing class and in the hostel in general. Bella has such a nice vibe, she s so charismatic and thoughtful. People there are so sweet, the volunteers so friendly. I felt very welcomed. I loved the fact that is solo travellers friendly and it felt so good to met other people. Unitl the next time. See ya!

To be honest, everything about the experience was amazing — from the surf lessons (you get more than enough of them!) to the delicious breakfast and lunch, the incredible instructors, and the hostel itself with all its activities. Lagos as a destination was the perfect backdrop. The entire week not only met my expectations, it exceeded them in every way.

Great community feeling.

Very relaxed, friendly environment with a great way to learn to surf and really nice people, and located in the centre of Lagos.

I hired a car and there's easy free parking at Bairro 28 de Setembro two mins from the hostel.

Surf lessons were really relaxed and informative - I was surprised how much I learnt in four days.

Lagos is a really lovely town with nice places to eat - the hosts organise a dinner out each evening for people who are interested.

Could not recommend the surf experience more, I hope to come back fairly soon !

I had a really good time at Surf Experience.It was my very first time trying surfing and all the instructors were very helpful, but not in a pushy way, I never felt being forced to do anything.

The host were taking a great care of us, anytime I needed something I could easily find one of the girls and they would help me immediately.

The whole experience. Learning, fun, social and culinary experience all in one.

I hadn't surfed in a while and the instructors were great in helping me ease back in. The environment around the sessions and after sessions were great too.

I joined the surf classes in November and have to say that the organization of the whole surf trip was every day excellent. The volunteers gave a big effort so we have every day meal (without meat) snacks and water. The hostel has a very friendly and cozy atmosphere, where everyone feels welcomed and part of the TSE family. It is located right in the center of the city and everything can be reached by foot. Nevertheless i would suggest if someone wants to be flexible generally in Portugal, to have a car. The instructors look every day which surf sport works better regarding the level of the whole group (approx. 8 people) with exception if you join the safari, which means that you can be fully indepedent. The groups are moving mostly around the south part of Lagos. Note here that the whole surf class goes in one row including the lunch break at the beach. I could wish for more hours at the beach for surfing regarding the conditions and the tide. Sometimes i had the feeling that was too short

I loved everything

We had a fabulous time with Surf Experience! The hosts were very fun and kind, the food was amazing and the surfing was great! I was a complete beginner when I arrived, and after 5 days I feel like I made some ground. I'll be able to take all the learning with me for future surf days! The coaches were all awesome people and very helpful as instructors - especially Ben whose instruction was exceptional!

Lagos is a neat town with lots of restaurants and beaches nearby. We went in October and it was lovely!

The Instructors are super nice. They explain everything and if Its doen't fit to your abilities they try to find a new way for you. The beach they choose Is super safe and breathtaking. Everyone of our group were making progres every day. Lunches are done to fit everyones taste. Rooftop dinners are supper tasty and cool with an advantage of cheap bear and friendly atmosphere :).

The entire (surf) experience far exceeded my expectations! As a first-time surfer, I was a bit nervous about the learning curve, but within just one week, I have made good progress, all thanks to the wonderful and exceptionally patient instructors.

The surf house itself is a gem! It’s within walking distance to all the main city attractions so you can easily go out and explore when you’re not out catching waves. The food was another highlight – each breakfast and lunch was delicious and made with fresh and healthy ingredients.

But what made this experience truly unforgettable were the people. From the surf instructors who really cared about your progress to the house staff girles who were always friendly and went above and beyond to make you feel special. And of course the fellow guests – I met some really cool people with whom we shared many laughs and awesome moments..

This wasn’t just about learning to surf – it was about being part of an amazing community that made every day feel like a new adventure.

Would love to come back one day and do it all over again 🤙🏼🤗

The staff was so friendly and really made this experience special. Accomodation was really good and great location. The food was exceptional thanks to the amazing Lily, who prepared Amazing breakfasts and lunches and the rooftop dinners were the bomb! That woman can COOK! The surfing was also a fantastic experience. We were there for a week with half of the days being a bit messy and chaotic waves but thanks to our awesome instructors we all improves on technique and paddle strength. Shout out to Anika, Ben and Freddie, they really took time to help out and helped me improve a lot, to the point that I can now finally turn the board and have more confidence when riding green waves. Also Anika has Great music taste and really made the ride to and from the beach a vibe. Definitely coming back to surf and have a great time with you guys.

Everything was well organized and explained. Fast learning curve, so you have the possibility to improve very fast and gain plenty of skills in short amount of time.

Es war ein rundum gut organisiertes Surfcamp. Jeder konnte in seinem Tempo Surfen lernen und wurde entsprechend unterstützt. Die Verpflegung am Stand war immer ein Highlight.

I found the whole set up of the surf house very enjoyable. How the hosts communicated and welcomed guest, to the instructors clear instructions and helpfulness. The house management ran smoothly and were always willing to help out or give suggestions to places to check out. The food prepared for breakfast and lunch were nutritious, and the consideration to others dietary restrictions was amazing. After surf activities suggested and arranged by the hosts were always well communicated and always enjoyable.

The Surf Instructors, are all very knowledgeable and clearly explain what or how to put yourself in the best possible position for you to learn how to surf. I give them a major applause for what they do and how they approach all the new faces arriving each day. They are always there for you to learn and majority of the time they come to give you direction when they see you making an error or more importantly when you achieve something.

The instructors were very attentive, the boards and gear were in great condition, the food was really good, and overall it was a great experience!

The location in the city center, good food, rooftop evenings, different activities organized by the hosts. Trainers are changed everyday, so you get different opinions and advices on your surfing activity

That was my first surf lessons and the instructors were very good to learn the groupe and help to improve. The places we went were absolutely beautiful and I met very nice people during that camp !

I was anxious about the surfing and social aspect of the camp because I came on my own and am pretty much a complete beginner, but the staff and guests were all lovely. The surf coaches were great, they worked really hard to give everyone feedback and help even on busier days and make sure everyone was safe and I felt like I learnt loads. The staff organize for people to go out to dinner most nights which is great for people there on their own. The surf house is comfy and clean and a practical spot to explore Lagos. Had a great time and was sad to leave. Would absolutely recommend.

This stay was so fun. The surf was so exciting, and I learned a lot from the instructors. The food was amazing, and the opportunities socialize w/ the others staying there or doing the surf class was many. From happy hour to rooftop dinners, which were amazing. Felt really welcome by all the crew members. Thanks guys, definetely gonna swing by again!!

Love The Surf Experience. Amazing value for you r money, in only 5 days I made so much proceeds with my surfing and it’s crazy how even with a bigger group of surfers the instructors still manage to help everyone improve individually. I hurt myself the first day and lucy and ben (two of the instructors) were so kinda and helpful in taking care of my injury.

Also the lunches were amazing (all the food really) shout-out to chef Lily and the hosts!

I have made so many friends here and have just had the best time and even extended my stay another week. Would definitely recommend the surf experience to anyone wanting to learn how to surf.

This was my first time surfing and the Surf Experience has given me the best introduction to the sport as one could hope for.

The instructions the instructors gave helped tremendously, so I was able to develop and ride the whitewash consistently. They're also lovely dudes and dudettes.

The breakfasts and lunches are clean, super healthy and filling. The treats lily cooks are to die for especially the cinannamon buns.

The hostel is great and good chance to meet loads of different people from all over and especially if you are travelling alone a good place to meet people and have a good time in the evening.

We loved every single bit of our experience in the surf experience! From the food, to the socials, to the surfing itself, everything was absolutely perfect (save for the rainy weather we had on the first 2 days). The instructors were absolute amazing, all of them are so willing to help us catch some waves and even though it took us forever to get the hang of it, they never gave up on us! The food was delicious, everyone was absolutely lovely and the town of Lagos itself also had so much to offer! Honestly, on our last day we were already trying to figure out plans to come back again and bring a couple more of our friends. This was absolutely the best decision for a holiday I’ve made, ever! Thank you so much to the surf experience, even though I cannot feel my shoulders anymore I still am looking forward to coming back again to surf some more!!

The accommodation was above expectations, I could even do laundry. The nights out were great, one was even a comedy show.

Incredibly warm and friendly hosts, trainers and other staff members as well as other guests. The atmosphere in the surf house was very cozy and welcoming. The trainers were very professional and helped a lot and gave great advice as you surfed. They were so encouraging and cheered you on, so it was very exciting to surf and made the whole experience extremely fun. Reservations and everything related to that before coming to the surf camp was done really well. The communication was excellent, all our questions were answered and the information regarding surf camp was given beforehand which made the whole process very smooth. Thank you for the incredible stay and experience, will be definitely coming again 😊

I found the instruction at SurfEx was absolutely excellent - I learnt more in one day with them than I have in entire weeks at other surf camps. The instructors made time to give dedicated support to everyone on the camp, and the video analysis was also a really useful touch.

I'd recommend this surf camp to anyone travelling alone - they really made an effort to make sure activities were organised every evening, whether that was yoga lessons, meals on the roof, meals at a local restaurant, or nights out. And it's all done on an opt-in basis so if you'd prefer to do your own thing or need some time to yourself, there's no awkwardness.

Finally, the food was amazing. Their cook is very talented. Everything is vegetarian so it's accessible to everyone, and they also cater if you have any more specific dietary requirements.

I rarely revisit places I've visited, as I'd usually prefer to explore somewhere new, but I'd definitely return to SurfEx. Highly recommend to surfers of all ages and abilities.

Have to say this was my 2nd surf experience and the guys more than delivered! Excellent food, a genuine warm friendly ethos, and the staff were very helpful and the surf lessons were well presented and differentiated, keep up the great work I’ll be back!!

Surf school was well organized with experienced instructors and a practical website with access to complete information, timely online communication and ease of payment. The instructors were experienced and could explain techniques in a practical and logical way that made surfing tips easy to be remembered.

I stayed with my friend at the surf experience for 10 days and I can truly say it was the best 10 days of my life and it was very hard to leave. The surf instructors and workers in the hostel were so friendly, welcoming and funny and contributed to making my trip one I will never forget. The beach was beautiful that we would surf at and the routine of surfing was perfect. We would get back in town by the late afternoon and would be able to explore the area. It was in the perfect location, right in the heart of the old town, so many amazing restaurants, always live music and close to a marina and other beaches. They did a great job of planning dinners for the hostel you could attend which was a great way to get to know the people staying at the surf experience and they also had planned events which were super fun. We wish we could have stayed longer and are so greatful for all the people we met. We cannot wait to come back!

I really enjoyed the overall experience, the girls at the surf house are really kind and nice, cooked super nice breakfasts and lunches. Surfing classes have been fun and the location is really great.

For a first timer like me everything seemed right: the energy of the place, the optimism of instructors, the quality of equipment, the atmosphere of the accommodation and people living in it. A wonderful experience indeed that I'd like to share with my family and friends next time. Oh, and a hobby worth starting!

Couldn't rate The Surf Experience highly enough, the 7 days I've spent with them has genuinely been the best week of my life. The quality of tuition and guidance is second to none, while the quality of the accomodation/stay, the food and energy & enthusiasm of the hosts is fantastic.

Instructors were really good and friendly. Surf house was cool and there was plenty things to do with other people who were in this trip. Learned to surf a little and had a great time!

It was my first surfing experience. The accomodation was very clean and nice, right in the centre of the town. The staff was both super organized and friendly. I found the surfing instructors absolutely pleasant and skilled, they made me improve a lot! I appreciated the food as well, I had only quality dishes. The yoga classes were run by a professional teacher. The overall experience and vibe was great!

What i liked the most was the organisation, there was always something going on in the surfhouse, breakfast all together on the roof with the sun in the face before leaving to the beach in the morning, easy check-in and check-out, organised dinners and party in Lagos in the afternoon. I would say is prepared more for beginners than for advanced surfers, but is normal because 90-95% are new on this sport. Ben was not just an amazing surf instructor but a perfect monitor while driving to the beach. With people like him is an absolutely pleasure to try this sport and very easy to become a better surfer. Take care man

I had so much fun and learned a lot in this Surf Camp that I'm sure I'll come back sooner or later in the future. The program was well structured and carried out, so that I enjoyed a very healthy and productive lifestyle during the stay, not to mention I learned the first important things in surfing. The breakfast and lunch was always healthy and delicious. Top atmosphere, very helpful and patient coaches, friendly and open guests...Just to name a few!

From the minute I arrived, I felt the community. All the hosts and instructors were kind, patient, and gave feedback to help improve my skills. The food I will especially miss; all of it fresh, healthy, good proportions, and all in reusable containers. It's a great combination of planned activities and the freedom to do your own thing. I can't wait to go back!

Since it was a camp you got to know more people and make bigger connections. People are super enthusiastic and the instructors really know what they are doing. It was good to go our for dinner with them.

As soon as we arrived the staff were lovely and welcoming, the food was EXCELLENT thanks to the chef Nina and there was so much of it!

You will have tons of practical lessons in the water with super legendary and patient instructors, doesn't matter your skill level, the coaches will bring out the inner surfer in everyone!

Absolutely loved everyone there and could not recommend it more.

We enjoyed our time with the surf experience very much. The instructors were amazing and we learned a lot in the 5 days. We also enjoyed all the meals and the accommodations. We met some amazing people on this trip and we are looking forward to going back.

Location spot on - the beach that we surfed on wasn't overcrowded with tourists nor the sea too busy with other surf schools. There aren't any facilities on the beach (e.g. shop/ toilets) which is fine if you forward plan.

Instructors were great - Jorge is hilarious and the rest are so patient and genuinely seem to enjoy supporting your progress. Full body warm up to ensure you don't pull anything, video analysis of your tekkers or lack thereof and regular coaching in the water. I was also really impressed that we got pulled out of the water when another surfer hit me quite badly + on a separate occasion I took a very bad wipeout. Very attentive, safety conscious and eager to teach.

Food was spot on - fresh and healthy. Similar to other reviews, the breakfast probably needs to be bigger. It would be pretty cheap to put out toast every day as need carb alongside yoghurt/ fruit. That said, so long as you know this, then just bring your own second breakfast. The value is very good.

Accomodation spot on. I stayed in Pensao which is a minute up the hill. It is spotless and receives daily cleaning. Own shower ensuite, kitchen (with kettle, oven, fridge-freezer) and an outdoor terrace to dry clothes, eat, read book. I travelled solo and loved everything about the experience. My dorm days are over so was very glad to have this option so readily available. I think the surf house is noisier from dogs barking and nightlife. Pensao is really well priced and you wake up to bird song.

I really enjoyed everything in the camp - surfing sessions, accomodation, food, but above all the overall atmosphere. The instructors are all very professional and encourage every student to actually learn how to surf at their own pace. The volunteers were doing a great job bringing us all together which helped make friends. I highly recommend The Surf Experience for solo travellers and surf beginners.

I was feeling quite adventurous when i booked the 5 day experience. I'll be honest - after the first day I was thinking about shortening the trip. After the second I was almost sure of it. My whole body was sore, I couldn't do much on the board. In all fairness - i'm not the most fit person in the world, but it could be worse! Luckily, the staff convinced me to give it another ago. Aaaand I'm glad i did! Not saying I'm a surfer now (although my friends DO make funny of me saying that), but I did manage to catch a few waves, sometimes even by myself. So all in all - a great experience that I'm proud to say not to regret, not even a bit.

Special shout out to Rui (MOM), for pretty much being my private instructor daily. And also George for giving LOUD advice on what to do, while I'm already on the board.

My advice for people who are not sure - just do it. But don't give up after the first day. Or even the second one. It's totally worth it!

Oh and the breakfast pancakes on my last day were aaaaamazing! Glad your cook is back. She's a star.

Really loved the vibe of the place and best of all is the connection and the bond you get with all the people from the SurfExperience, feels like a family just after few days.

I loved the breakfasts at the rooftop, the special care that they all put in keeping a positive chilled atmosphere.

The fact I got to surf at two different beaches in three days and catch green waves the second day!

Serious about surf (and food :)), relaxed and fun about everything else. The perfect combination for enjoying a great holidays while taking your surfing skills to the next level. I'll definitely go back if I ever have the opportunity to.

The staff is great and friendly.The beginnig of the class was good, with clear and interesant instructions from each of the three instructor.

Instructors were really good and friendly. They provided constant feedback during sessions. I felt like I learnt so much.

Bed was really comfy. Loved the duvet!!! Also terrace was a great area to socialise.

Food was healthy and there were good quantities.

The surf house is a very nice, cozy and clean place, where you can always have lovely chats with the staff and meet always new people from all the world, the beaches they drove us where amazing spots and I had great tips to improve in surfing. Instructors are professional and very nice too, the location is in the centre of the old town and you can have lovely relaxing strolls around or explore the algarve after your surf. Looking forward to do it again!!!

Loved the freindliness of the staff, the camo is very welcoming, the lunches are amazing and the travel time to the beaches is perfect

A fantastic week in Lagos, organised and run by a friendly crew. Everyone from the instructors to the staff where amazingly friendly and made you feel welcome from the moment you arrived.

The lessons where great and tailored to my needs and each day my skills improved. A great variety of surf experiences throughout the week and a variety of wave sizes.

The food through out the camp is of the highest quality and tasty! Recommend the dinners at the surf-house.

I would highly recommend this to anyone and will be returning as soon as I can.

I had a feeling that this 4 days surf camp is going to be great and it was just how I wished for. Friendly people, cool atmosphere, a true surf experience with packing up the van, going to the beach, unpacking, dressing in swimsuits, work-out, surfing for 1,5 hour, having a break, lunch on the beach, chilling, going for 2nd surfing round, chilling, packing the van and going back to Lagos.

What I liked the most: great beach we were surfing at Atlantic Ocean (1 day was on a beach in Lagos, for a change), tasty lunches (breakfasts were nothing fancy, but were ok), great spot right next to old town market (easy access to bars/restaurants etc).

It's also good value for money, yet the money is really reasonable, so don't expect a 4 star hotel rooms:-)

One remark I want to share about surf experiences as a guy who did it fot the first time: surfing is tough and phisically demanding. So if you expect to really surt after a 4 or 7 days, you need to be really fit to maximaze the stay. Otherwise you can just have a nice time, surf a bit, catch white waves, relax on a beach a bit, take a day off etc. That's my advice to manage expectations: either prepare well (swimming, running, etc.) or just go for the course as for a nice holiday with surf-elements.

And when you decide to do that in Algavre, The Surf Experience is definately the place to go! :-D

Óptima experiência para pessoas a viajar sozinhas que procuram alguma diversão e descontração! Apesar da falta de experiência e jeito para o surf toda a gente foi muito motivadora tornando a experiência agradável (mesmo quando as quedas na água pareciam o modo centrifugação da máquina de lavar). Todos os dias conheci pessoas novas e acabei por me divertir imenso nos jantares e convívios proporcionados pelos voluntários! Experiência a repetir :)

Very chill atmosphere but still very productive days.perfect balance of hard work, fun and relaxation. Staff was very approachable and positive. They managed to stay cool despite my relentless questioning! thanks! thanks to Louis for very good tips! Relaxation yoga with Igor was amazing. Great memories of Rachel's food and Rachel per se. But most of all i enjoyed the big sea, nature and atmosphere of the place. And all the instructors so good lookin ;)

The organisation, banter in the group, food and options were all excellent. Transport efficient and guidance great.

I got so impressed by the alertness of the instructors, their wonderful feedback made me really grow as a surfer. And I enjoyed the super nice and laidback feeling of the whole camp.

Das ganze Team ist super nett und die Unterkunft ist echt klasse eingerichtet. Mit dem Van wird jeden Tag der Strand mit den besten Bedingungen angefahren. Nach der ersten surfeinheit gibt es jeden Mittag am Strand ein lunch. Das Essen ist wirklich richtig gut und alles ist einfach top organisiert. Ich kann dieses surfcamp jedem empfehlen. Ich habe dort sehr nette und hilfsbereite Menschen getroffen

I loved everything to be honest. Every single member of staff were always happy and helpful. I stayed in the main house and would do this again. The house was filled with laughter and fun from morning to night. I met so many awesome people there. The surf lessons were great, especially as I was a total beginner. Even other guest, with more experience, were happy to help and encourage you. I only arrived back yesterday and I'm already planning my next trip out to see everyone again. I would highly recommend this camp to everyone.

Overall atmosphere in the surfcamp, relation between participants, hostel staff and instructors - you could feel really comfortable and relaxed

I had a great time, during the day surf lessons with delicious lunch and a nice group and enthusiastic motivated instructors. in the evening there was often a dinner on the roof terrace, such as paella or BBQ, other days we went to the city to eat something with the group. I am very grateful for this week

As soon as I arrived I felt rather welcome. The instructors, the people were just great! And I absolutely loved the food from Rachel and I am going to cook it at home 😝 If you need to just shut down and have a great time, go for it 👌🏼

The people were natural. They could be understanding or just frank, silly or serious, but at any time I felt part of something real.
