Surf Huatulco

Miguel was a local with amazing knowledge of the waves, winds, and all things surfing. He was especially helpful as a surf guide getting us to less well known places with the best waves based on his local expertise. He knew people everywhere and knew what spots were going to be pumping on which days. He maximized our surf trip!

Had a great week surfing some incredible waves and mostly uncrowded breaks. Miguel was a great guide with a wealth of local knowledge and a large array of possible breaks in the area. Miguel also took lots of photos which helped me with technique.

This is the first surf camp I've done, but it's more of a private surf experience than anything. Miguel is a local surf hero and he has access to half a dozen beaches that you never would find on your own. He's a guide, a teacher, a driver, a translator, and an advocate for Huatulco. After a full day of surfing all day he would take me to one of his favorite spots to eat. I don't own a board, but he made sure I had the right equipment and even helped me out when I ran out of sunscreen a couple times. The whole week was more like paying to be Miguel's friend from out of town that got to experience a hidden gem that only he has access to.
