Ranchos Itaúna is a stylish hotel and restaurant located on the beach between the best surf brakes of Santa Teresa.
Programma
It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an intermediate surfer, Rancho Itauna teaches all levels. The first day you arrive and will get a welcome drink at the beachfront rest and bar. The next day will start with breakfast and then you will go according to the tide and swell direction to the surf spot and you will get your first surf lesson.
The teachers will be with you all the time, coach and correct your mistakes and help you to improve your skills with every wave you try. They will teach you everything you need to know about surfing: how to paddle in the correct way, standing up, dropping into waves, about weather and currents, and about board designs and the different wave types. And last but not least the most important thing: safety and surf etiquette and preference rules.
After your surf lesson, you will be free for the rest of the day and you can continue practicing with the equipment. You also can book more surf lessons or a yoga lesson or a relaxing massage, a fishing trip to Cabo Blanco or a zip line tour in Mal Pais, or an ATV and you can visit other beaches or go to Montezuma to the cascades or Cabo Blanco National Park
Every day will be the same. Breakfast in the morning and then out surfing. Afternoons you can rest in the hammock or you continue practicing on your own. Or you stretch in the yoga rancho. At an additional cost, there is a guy who can film you with a drone and he will take pics from your session.
You could watch it afterward on the smart TV at the chill rancho. There are also different events in the Rest & Beach Club such as Deep Tuesday, the sunset party where intern Djs will deliver fresh electronic beats, or the Sunday Family day or the Latin Night where you can dance to salsa, merengue, bachata, bossa nova, samba, and more.
Excursies
Canopy Tour in Mal Pais
The tour takes 1 hour where you will glide through the roof tops of the jungle. You will be picked up at your place and drop you off afterwards at Ranchos Itaúna again.
You also can see the coast line from up there, it delivers a stunning view. Also, you will see the Mal Pais fishing village where you could buy some fresh caught fish or lobster.

Palomillo
Palomillo is one of the longest teachers in town. He is a Tico, who speaks english and spanish and has worked with us for many years and thought hundreds of people how to surf. ISA certified instructor !! He will chose the perfect beach, tide and waves for you to catch and he will watch you during the surf lesson and make sure that every one comes back happy !!
Locatie
Playa Carmen, Playa Santa Teresa and Playa Hermosa are the well known surf spots in the area, waves of all kinds wash the shore. Rancho Itauna are located in the middle of the two most important spots. You can check the waves and go walking from our hotel to your next adventure in minutes.
Rancho Itauna is only five minutes walking distance to the main surf breaks.

Arrival by bus
You can come to St. Teresa by direct bus from S.J, shuttle service or flying. The bus is the cheapest solution, but a 7 hour trip. The shuttle takes around 5-6 hours, 55 USD. The flight is 20 minutes to Tambor and then you need to come by taxi or we can pick you up for additional cost(50 to 100 USD )
