The surf house is a Moroccan family home converted into a surf house where you’ll be greeted with a warm, family welcome. Its location at Tamraght’s Hay Sahel area provides convenient access to restaurants, cafes, shops, and other services. All these amenities are all within a 10-minute walk from the surf house.
Stepping through the entrance door on the ground floor, you’ll step into a bubble of calm as the host checks you into your room. The ground floor hosts 2 rooms, a reception area, and a board rack for guests bringing their own equipment.
Two more rooms and a living room are on the first floor of the surf house along with the kitchen, where some of the most delicious home cooked meals are made. The third floor hosts 3 more rooms and a small terrace with a small sea view.
The final floor is the terrace which boasts a grand view of Taghazout Bay and Crocros surf spot, where you can do regular surf checks and bask in the amazing Moroccan sunsets.
The Surf House in Tamraght, consists of 8 rooms total, 1 which is a dedicated double room with shared bathroom, 1 dedicated double room with a private bathroom, 1 quadruple room, and 5 rooms that can be twin or double.
Each floor has a large bathroom with a combined shower and toilet. Sheets, blankets, bath towels, and extra pillows are provided, but don’t forget your beach towels! Fiber Optic Wi-Fi is also available throughout the surf house perfect for those catch up calls or remote working needs.

At Local Surf Maroc, their surf guides have a lifetime of knowledge about Taghazout Bay and all the famous and not so famous surf spots. For your surf guiding experience, they check the surf forecast daily to make sure they find the surf spot with the most suitable conditions.
Their surf guides are not only here to get you to the best surf spot of the day, but also:
- Impart tips on how to get in and out of the surf spots
- Point out the dangers that can catch a surfer out when they’re unfamiliar with the surf spot
- Paddle out with you and be a safety net, a surfing buddy, as you test out the waters
Each day begins with a full surf forecast review to find the ideal conditions for your level and style. The guides do more than lead the way, they share invaluable local knowledge, from entry and exit strategies to hazard awareness, and they’ll often paddle out with you for safety, support, and camaraderie in the water.
They keep the guiding groups intentionally small to ensure flexibility, authenticity, and a truly personal experience. Depending on conditions and your stay length, we’ll venture north to Tamri or south to Tifnit, exploring Morocco’s most iconic coastline along the way.

Your stay with them is your experience and their aim is to make sure you leave Morocco speechless. Any huided day can be skipped and an alternative activity can be arranged at any time (please note, some charges may apply).
Schedule
As part of their surf guiding surf experience, they don’t follow clocks. At Local Surf Maroc, they don’t have a schedule for surfing, per se:
Some days we’re up before first light and paddle out before the sun peaks over the horizon. Other days you relish a lie in, sleeping until midday and then catching waves all afternoon until you can’t feel your arms anymore. Then there are days where the sunsets grace you with amazing waves and unforgettable surfs.
No two days are the same as you roll around Taghazout Bay to chase waves. If you’re out of luck here, then you go as far north as Tamri or as far south as Tifnit to get that saltwater on your faces.
For your 2 guided sessions per day, surf guides always check the surf conditions the night before to determine the best spot and time to paddle out. The start time will be confirmed before you go to sleep.

Rachid Makoua
Rachid grew up in Taghazout, learning to ride the waves as a child. Having surfed all his life, Rachid knows every surf spot and how the weather conditions can affect each point. Before spending time in England to gain his ISA Surf Coach and Life Guard qualification, Rachid competed in local competitions, becoming a finalist during 2007-2009. Affectionately, Rachid is known as the Surfing Cupid, inspiring beginners to fall in love with the sport, and intriguing those who already love surfing to experience the best of surfing that Morocco has to offer.
Locatie
As Tamraght is an old Amazigh (Berber) fishing village in Taghazout Bay, its access to Crocros and Devil’s Rock surf spots is also only a 15-minute walk from the Surf House. The village of Tamraght itself is on the main road between Agadir and Essaouira, allowing for easy travel and accessibility regardless which airport you fly into.

All food is Moroccan and homemade from scratch with fresh, local ingredients. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will still be provided wherever you end up being during the day. Meals will be available at your accommodation or on the road, and you’ll get a taste of the best Moroccan cuisine. Just let them know if you have any food allergies! Water and Moroccan mint tea is served with meals, any other beverages must be purchased.
The tap water in Tamraght is treated and drinkable. However, for your holiday, they recommend to stick with bottled water to avoid any unnecessary symptoms. They provide bottled water on arrival and with meals. Any water, juices, or pop should be purchased at your own expense.
At Local Surf Maroc, they can cater to most requirements: gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian. Just let them know at the time of booking. Please be aware that their kitchen does not prevent contact allergens when it comes to gluten, peanuts, or other severe allergies.

Arrival by car
It is possible to rent cars throughout Morocco. The signage throughout the country is in several languages and with the help of a GPS, navigating more populated areas has become easier.
The completion of the motorway between Agadir and Marrakech has greatly reduced travel times, however, along the coast you may find a few rougher patches.

Arrival by airplane
Please arrange your flight to arrive at Agadir–Al Massira Airport (AGA) or Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK). Transfers from this airport is included in the package.
Agadir Al-Massira Airport is the nearest airport to Tamraght. It is approximately a 45 minutes drive from the airport, through Agadir City, to Tamraght. Numerous airlines connect to this airport from various European cities.
It is also possible to fly in to Marrakech, Essaouira, and Casablanca and connect to Agadir by plane, bus, or taxi.
Arrival by bus
Morocco has several bus companies that operate across the country. If your travel plans start and end in other cities such as Casablanca, Marrkech, Rabat, etc, travelling to Agadir Bus Station is also an option. SupraTours and CTM are the companies they recommend and tickets can be booked online via their websites.
Transfers from Agadir Bus Station are also included in price.
