Kubu Surf School has been introducing beginner surfers to the sport of surfing since 2007. Through this experience, they have refined their learn to surf programme to offer the best beginner surf lessons. Their multi-day beginner progressive surfing lessons are for everyone. They teach paddling, standing up, dropping into waves and riding across them. You can expect to stand up and ride your first wave on the first day. The longer you stay, the more you learn with the intention of teaching all the skills necessary to surf forever!

Typical daily schedule
- Breakfast time (08:00–10:00)
- After breakfast, drive to the surf point
- Stretching for around ten minutes
- First class covers basic theory about surfing, positions, waves, spots and currents
- One and a half hour class
- After class, drive back to the accommodation
- On the last day, pictures are taken to see and check your progression
Excursies
Every afternoon, guests can enjoy live guitar music and singing, and watch the sunrise or sunset by the beach with a bonfire and horse riding. One snorkeling session is also provided at Turtle Point, including all necessary equipment such as a mask and snorkel.

Dex Siner
Dex Siner has been a surfer since he was seven years old. He is a local surfer and tour guide in Indonesia. He will show you best spots to surf and the most beautiful places in Lombok and Sumbawa.
Locatie
Perfectly located near to the beach, the villa sits in the most prestigious area of Gili Trawangan, offering a peaceful natural setting and truly relaxing atmosphere.
The beach is not far, only two minutes by bike (Kubu Surf School provides it for free). The island is one of the best spots to surf, diving, snorkel with turtles, beautiful sunsets. Also in the night life, there are a lot of pubs and musicians in the central area.

How to get from Lombok Airport to the Gili Islands
By car or taxi
From Lombok International Airport, take a taxi or private transfer to Bangsal Harbor (public boat until 17:00) or Teluk Nare Harbor (private boat from 17:00). The drive takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
By boat
- Direct fast boat from Bali (Padang Bai Harbor) to the Gili Islands
- From Bangsal Harbor, take a public boat to the Gili Islands
- From Teluk Nare Harbor, take a private speedboat, which is faster and more comfortable
The boat ride takes about 10–20 minutes
Arrival by ferry or fast boat
From Bali (Padang Bai Harbor), you can take a fast boat to Gili Trawangan. From Lombok, you can take a public boat from Bangsal Harbor to Gili Trawangan. From the Gili harbor, you can walk about ten minutes to North Island, or take a horse car. Take the direction to Villa Utara. At the next road, turn right and you will find Villa Canaria.
