All of the accommodations are in shared buildings just a 10-minute walk from the downtown plaza and main beach area of Sayulita. All accommodations are private individual apartments that are fully furnished with small kitchen areas, basic cooking supplies, small refrigerators, stove, kitchen and bathroom sink, private bathroom, clean towels, hot water, wifi, queen size bed, and an air conditioner. Drinking water is also provided.
Programme
First day
Airport shuttle from Licenciado Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta. Returning to Sayulita where you will be checked-in to your comfortable and private accommodations. This evening will be free to explore the town and enjoy some of the local cuisines. Your guide will gladly chaperone you around Sayulita at this time if desired to give local tips and advice.
Second day
Your surf guide/instructor will arrive at your accommodations at approximately 9 am. You will then be accompanied to one of their partnering breakfast spots the Alquimista restaurant where you will receive a free coffee, juice, or smoothie of your choice, a compliment from Variant Surf Co. You will also have the option to purchase a great breakfast if you decide.
After breakfast, the journey will begin. All of the surf classes are held at Punta Burros beach, roughly 20 minutes south of Sayulita. Along the drive, there are opportunities to stop for fresh coconuts or fruits and there will be a brief stop at a convenience store. Lunch will not be provided for you on this trip, so this stop is great for grabbing any snacks or supplies desired. The surf class will begin with a 1-hour lesson on the beach explaining surfing safety, terminology, etiquette, ocean currents, tides, and all things relating to actually understanding what you will be physically trying to accomplish once in the water. Once entering the ocean you will receive a 2-hour surf lesson with your instructor. After an hour in the water, you’ll get a break on the beach to rehydrate and rest. After this break, you’ll be back in the water for one more hour. You are never pressed for time, so you are allowed to decide when the beach day is done and the return to Sayulita will begin. Halfway back to Sayulita you will be given the option to stop at a local surf bar-restaurant called KM5 for drinks, delicious food, and an amazing atmosphere. It is a perfect ending to a perfect day and is completely optional to the guest. You will then be returned to your accommodation in Sayulita.
Third Day
Mostly exactly the same as your previous day, the third day also starts around 9 a.m. with the morning breakfast stop to receive your complimentary coffee, juice, or smoothie and then continuing on to the same schedule and activities except for the hour-long class on the beach, you will only be doing the 2 hours in the water part of the surf lesson. Also, Variant Surf Co. will not offer to stop at the restaurant KM5 after this surf day, they offer instead to go to an unpopulated and almost private beach for a beach bonfire and drinks at sunset. This is completely optional for the guests and as always you are returning to Sayulita at your request.
Fourth Day
Airport shuttle will arrive at your accommodations to take you to the airport at your requested time.

Corey Whitely
Originally from Texas, Corey has 18 years of surfing experience and nine years of teaching surfing experience. He moved to Mexico in 2013 to start the Chillum Surf House in Sayulita Nayarit, México. Now with Variant Surf Co., he provides accommodations, board rental, surf trips, and instructions. He has relaxed chill vibes and friendly, respectful demeanor.
Robert Valencia
With over 10 years of experience in guided surf trips and lessons in the Bahia De Banderas region, Robert Valencia is one of the best and most qualified guides and instructors. He is a local and knows everything about the area and surf breaks you could wish to learn. He is bilingual and has a charming personality and a nice disposition.
Lieu
From your accommodations, you can quickly walk to the center of town for bars, restaurants, the plaza, or the main beach area. In Sayulita, there is seasonal whale watching, turtle releases, surf and stand-up paddle contests, festivals, many different bars with live music, art and jewelry galleries, shops for souvenirs, amazing restaurants, and plenty of street taco stands with authentic Mexican food flavors. There are also lots of wonderful more private beaches nearby to surf, swim, snorkel, paddleboard, relax and have a fire, or anything you want to do on your vacation here.
