The cooking with Effie was great fun, with some excellent tips and tricks. We were a group of six who all got along well during the week. Effie and Antonio were fantastic hosts.

Antonio and Effie were absolutely wonderful hosts, they make you feel like a member of the family. And the food…this ruined Greek food back home for me completely.

Fabulous retreat. The itinerary was perfect mix of local food and flavor, with history, tourist, and archeological sites. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and very well organized. Denia had everything perfectly taken care of and was so knowledgeable about food and culture. What a wonderful and meaningful way to experience Greece -food, drink, and hospitality!

We really did not know what to expect but this was a great way to see Athens ,Greece the host and hostess could not have been any nicer. I loved that we became a part of a family Denia and Alex will be our friends forever. All of the activities were just excellent loved the entire 5day we spent there

Staying with a warm and welcoming Greek family who shared their love of their food history and a love of their island.

If you want to learn about Greek food from the perspective of a family, spending time cooking with someone who learnt from their mother and keeps traditional recipes alive, this course is ideal.

I was made to feel very welcome and the day trips were interesting. I was treated to great tours of Zakynthos and ate in some lovely restaurants.

Sunrise yoga sessions were an added bonus.

Denia & Alec were charming hosts and their beautiful home was comfortable and inviting. The activities and cooking classes were very

organized and enjoyable! As a Greek American I was able to absorb the culture and experience the history of Athens not as a tourist but rather as a a “local”. I saw parts of Athens I had never visited before!! As a solo female senior traveler the most important thing is that I felt safe the entire time!! Alec and Denia escorted and guided me throughout my stay. I enjoyed this visit so much that I am going to their sister property in Zakynthos in April.

The best thing about this retreat were the hosts. They opened their home to us and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Both Effie and Antonio were such a delight. Teaching us about Greece and their customs and sharing wonderful meals with the guest. Very kind and loving people. I consider myself part Greek now, because we are now family.

I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming, genuine, and memorable experience. I feel deeply thankful to every member of the Spiros Family Apartments. From the very start of booking my holiday, Denia was amazing, and our communication was clear and effortless. As soon as I arrived at the accommodation, Effie, Antonio, and Andriana made me feel at home. Everything flowed with genuine warmth and care. They were always attentive to every guest, making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Truly top-notch hospitality.

Every single day was full of adventures. From cooking classes with the sweetest Effie, to visiting beautiful local spots: monasteries, authentic restaurants, and, of course, peaceful horseback trails. The scenery was breathtaking: olive groves, mountains, and one unforgettable day swimming with the horses. To be fair, I usually prefer faster rides, but even the serene trails (due to our beginner-friendly groups) were full of peace and joy. One of the most memorable highlights was a boat trip. Our small group was lucky to have Denia join us as the perfect guide. Together with Denia and Antonio, I had a chance to swim in the crystal-clear waters of Porto Vromi, it truly felt like swimming in heaven. The logistics were amazing as well. Antonio was always ready to drive us to nearby destinations and even to different beaches, making everything easy. It was a magical experience where I met fellow travelers who made my solo journey even more joyful <3

I really like the warm and welcoming family atmosphere of this encounter. Besides learning Greek cooking skills and enjoying horses in the olive trees and beaches, I felt very much at home. Antonio was a perfect gentleman leading a beautiful family.

The hosts were most welcoming with kindness and hospitality, Effie and Antonio made us feel part of the family. They had a lot of knowledge of the island they shared. There was a lot of special extras. We were amazing by the beauty of the island. Effie had a great agenda for cooking, everything tasted so delicious and we were never hungry.

We also stayed with Denia in Athens for 3 days in their home. The house is beautiful in the mountains, but it is over an hour to get to Athens central.

The family was great and made the entire experience fun and easy!

I really enjoyed getting to know Spiros family. Wonderful people who are super accommodating to any needs we had. Overall really great experience. I'm had a wonderful time exploring Zakynthos.

From start to finish, this was an incredible experience. Driver Antonio was punctual in picking me up from the airport and brought me to their beautiful place, where I enjoyed a comfortable 7-night stay. The entire program was thoughtfully designed to be both enriching and fulfilling, allowing me to gain a deeper appreciation of Greek culture. Host Denia, Andonio, and Effie ensured all my requests were promptly attended to. My room was spotless and cleaned regularly, and the relaxing bodywork sessions with Andriana were a highlight.

I highly recommend this program to other tourists, whether traveling solo like I did or with a companion. It’s a wonderful experience for anyone seeking comfort, relaxation, and attentive service.

The shopping was excellent. Acropolis fantastic. Boat tour wonderful. New foods and techniques in cooking classes. Wonderful restaurants.

We had a lovely week! Anthonio and his wife welcomed us into their home like we were family. They made sure that we were well taken care of. Anthonio showed us al the beautifull places of the island and made sure we drank plenty of his good wine! And Effie (hope that is correct) shared some nice recepies with us, and showed us how to make them. We had 2 very nice 'free' afternoons in Zante town wich we really enjoyed. Loved all the beaches and the small villages we visited and the cooking classes we did! Zakynthos is a very beautifull island! We met so many nice people during the week and all of them so friendly! Thanks to Adriana for the perfect massage! Thank you Christina for your company and all the stories you shared! Thank you Anthonio and Effie for all you did for us!

I felt included all the time, Denia and her family was so genunine.

They passed on to me the love and knowledge of Zakynthos. I enjoyed cooking traditional food and exploring new place on horseback.I got back in tune with myself and nature.

The whole package was perfect. It was a an extraordinary experience. A perfect balance of activity and relaxing. Denia and her family are so kind and welcoming and will guaranty that you will have the best Greek experience. The meals are traditional dishes which are only of the best quality. The accommodation are newly renovated, so very modern and beautifully decorated. The Villa was near to the beach, only a 5 minute walk. Would recommend to everyone. Also ideal for solo travelers.

Denia and her family made sure to accommodate every request, from the planning of extra dives, to tours around the island.

The cooking lessons with Antonio's homemade wine and olive oil were a lot of fun and the food was amazing!

A great experience overall, would definitely recommend for solo travelers.

The personal attention of the whole family was outstanding. The concept is brilliant, everybody should try. Denia is amazing, her attention to detail is more than impressive. her knowledge and love for her country is vast. She goes out on a limb for her guests and makes you feel special

I enjoyed cooking and trying the different recipes and seeing new places. Everyone made me feel very welcome. More interesting than sitting by the pool all day! I would definitely try another creative break. Thank you to Tony, Eleftheria and Denia!
