They say salt water can cure anything, and a week of catching waves, napping in hammocks surrounded by tropical nature, and toasting the sunset in beautiful Santa Teresa is definitely a salve for the stresses of daily life.

Nicoya Surf School operates amazing surf lessons, surf school, and surf adventures in Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa, and Montezuma. They provide services for beginners and intermediate surfers who want to learn how to surf or improve their surfing in a fun and safe environment. Nicoya Surf School will introduce you to some of the best learn to surf and intermediate waves in the area.

Each day, local surf instructors will take you to the best surf locations according to your ability and help you understand the surf conditions, locations, local cultures, customs, and others things to know around the Nicoya Peninsula. You will experience amazing surf breaks, enchanting remote locations, adventurous road trips, breathtaking sunsets, and of course, the surfing will be awesome.

With more than 15 years of teaching experience and guiding groups in the area, Nicoya Surf and SUP School is ready to receive you and make you feel at home while you are having once in lifetime experiences.

Every class will start with a theoretical introduction, surf and conditions evaluation, and then you will jump into the water to have fun and ride the waves. Also, Nicoya Surf and SUP School will arrange the program to be relaxing for your body with yoga stretching classes and massage included to reach your best potential and take your surfing to the next level.

In the surf program, you will start slowly but surely every day for new goals, and at the same time, you will have other activities like massages, yoga classes, and river hikes to have a restful and relaxing time for your mind and body after surfing. At night, you can enjoy the time to meet friends and people from all around the world in the charming and laid back village of Montezuma.

Depending on your surf skills and weather conditions, Nicoya Surf and SUP School will decide where and when to go surfing. You will have five surf lessons at one of the spots near the south Nicoya Peninsula. The program also includes one yoga stretching class.

Daily itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day

You will arrive at Luz en el Cielo Bed and Breakfast. In the afternoon or early evening, the host of Nicoya Surf and SUP school will meet you, and you will have a welcome dinner. Then, you will be provided with theoretical information about the surfing program, activities, and the surroundings of Montezuma.

You will also do a physical assessment of swimming, surfing, and connecting with the ocean. Starting from the first day of the surf camp, you will do these every day since the schedule will depend on your progress in surfing and weather the conditions of the day.

Day 2: First surf lesson

You will have your organic lunch and coffee, the star of the national products, and then you will be picked up by the team of Nicoya Surf and SUP School and head to the beach for your first surf lesson. Thereafter, you will be taken back to the hotel to enjoy and chill out during your free time.

Day 3: Surfing and yoga

On this day, you will be provided with an organic breakfast, one surf lesson, and a yoga stretching class.

Day 4: Surfing and waterfall hike

You will be provided with an organic breakfast, one surf lesson, and a waterfall hike on this day.

Day 5: Surfing and massage

After an organic breakfast, you will have one surf lesson and a relaxing massage to liberate stress.

Day 6: Surfing and graduation bonfire

You will have an organic breakfast and coffee, and thereafter, you will have one surf lesson and a graduation bonfire.

Day 7: Departure

After an organic breakfast, you will get ready to either sign up for another week of an intermediate level program or you can just chill until check out.
