Moby Dick Lodge

It was my first time surfing and visiting Portugal. Place, people, food, and atmosphere were amazing. Nothing negative with this package!! The organizers are very kind and treat me very well. I highly recommend to visit this package!!

Surf:

The surf instructor was incredibly friendly and he is such a good surfer. We felt very safe inside the water and he was always pushing us to do better. The instructions were very clear and helpful. We had a lot of fun and caught some good waves. Even when it was raining or when it was windy, the sessions were very good. Marcello is a great guy.

Yoga:

Mafalda was very nice too and the yoga sessions were exactly what we needed after surf. She is friendly and would make sure that we were comfortable and at ease at all times. Even if we did the yoga classes indoors, the experience was very good.

Location:

The location of the lodge was very convenient, there’s a Spar supermarket right next to it as well as a pharmacy and a good breakfast place. Some great sunset spots on the beach are nearby as well.

Instructor care about safety, really watch people when in the water. They also give feedback on your technique and tell, how you can improve, if you ask.

Thank you so much to the entire team at Moby Dick for your incredible hospitality and top-notch surf lessons! Your friendly and welcoming atmosphere made my stay unforgettable, and the lessons were both fun and highly informative. Can't wait to come back!

The place was awesome, felt like home and all the staff is super friendly. It’s a nice place to meet new people and share a beautiful surf experience. The host are here for you in case of any problem.

The transportation to the surf spots is included and always on time.

The surf instructors are very funny and helpful ! (Shout out to Caetano, Valentim and Pedro for the bike ride).

The weather was always nice expect it was very windy but the surf instructors bring you to the best spot hidden from the wind.

The atmosphere in the lodge was really nice, with the large veranda and very agreable staff, the volunteers as well as the surf instructors.

It was our first time in surf retreat and everything couldn’t be better! (Maybe only the weather bc it was winter🥶) the stuff was friendly and helping, everything was organized well, we spent our New Year at the lodge and got the sweetest memories. Thank you again for everything!

Ok camp to get an idea about surfing, very good for 20year olds. Surf lessons very good. Nice tour of the local sights, evening activities.

Everyone at moby dick is super friendly and fun, everything is laid back while remaining organised and eventful. Really accommodating for surfers with or without experience, would recommend to all. Will definitely be back

I had a great time at Moby Dick Lodge. Caetano and Mariana keep the activities well organized and everyone was very welcoming. As a beginner it was great for me to have such patient and encouraging instructors. Diogo was very observant and gave me very detailed and useful corrections. Souza was equally caring and gave me some challenges which was key to keep learning. Despite some wind in the first couple of days, they took us to a beach that was more sheltered and we all made the most of our time there. The beaches are beautiful and the area is very charming. The camaraderie among the other guests, the volunteers and the instructors made it really a fulfilling experience. Last but not least, the Yoga with Annelise was great and it really fits with the journey. I will definitely come back!

Sehr gute Surflehrer, alle waren sehr nett, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Die Surfstunden waren zeitlich sehr angemessen und abhängig von Strömung und Wetter geplant. Mit dem Uber ist man gut überall hingekommen.

Overall incredibile experience: all the surf instructors have been really helpful, dedicated and patient in teaching every one of us according to our surf levels. Mariana and the volunteers also made sure that the guests had a super pleasant stay at the lodge, which has an overall chill and relaxed vibe that will appeal to whoever is looking for a peaceful and friendly escape from routine. Also the location of the lodge is a plus if you'd like to combine surfing with sightseeing/hiking (Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra and more are all very close). Would definetely reccomend to everyone, as my only regret is that I couldn't spend more time there!

The atmosphere at the lodge is exceptional, and it's difficult not to fall in love with it. The combination of a welcoming staff and the joy of surfing made my time here truly memorable. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I made the spontaneous decision to extend my trip. I really appreaciated everything. Part of this of course was due to the weather, the days were sunny. The other part -hostel atmosphere, lessons (surfing and yoga) were exceeding the expectatios - the staff and teachers really made an effort, there was always someone with an advise. I have learnt a lot, enjoyed. What can I say - this was an excellent choise!

Surfing was really really fun, instructors were nice and helpful. Beautiful beaches with great conditions.

We met a lot of cool people, the whole expierience felt really familiar.

The lodge‘s location is also nice in a small calm town with a good connection to the bigger cities.

We try for the first time surf lessons during 4 days. It was really great time. Instructors and hosts at Moby dick lodge are really nice, fun and we spent very good stay. We definitely recommend this camp. Location is near to a lot of different interesting place to visit. Lot of things to enjoy!!

We had a great time at the Moby Dick Lodge. The beaches where we surfed were beautiful. The hostel was very cosy and friendly. Our room was very clean and had a great shower. It was my first time surfing and I found the instructors so helpful! My boyfriend was an intermediate surfer and he also found the instructors helpful for his level. We hope to go back some day :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Moby Dick Lodge as well as the surfing lessons. House we stayed in had a perfect vibe also thanks to the staff and owners. Surf instructors were always helpful and took us to great beaches and spots for surfing. Great Value for money - totally recommended.

I found my time at Moby Dick really excellent. The lodge has a homely and warm feel and Mariana, Caetano, Pedro, Diogo, Domingos and Miguel are the best. While the surfing was pretty challenging as a beginner, they were patient and always enthusiastic. After enjoying the first days I extended my stay. Would definitely stay here again!

We only booked 4 nights and 3 days of surfing, which we regretted later. I would prefer to stay for at least a week and have more surfing days. Everything was great, I enjoyed surfing very much, the beach is gorgeous, you can go up on a hill and enjoy a terrific sunset. Conditions and equipment for surfing are very good, instructors are great, explain all details and give helpful advices. I enjoyed yoga lessons as well, the instructor was very attentive. The atmosphere is the best, it's a pleasure to be there, enjoy the nature and hang out with people. A separate thanks here to volunteers Uliana and Carlie for their work and for unforgettable summer surf camp vibes.

We have spent the best week at the surfing camp, was absolutely amazing and super fun. The room was nice and clean and in general the Lodge is very cosy and nice for the price we paid. The best part is the stuff working there Mariana was very sweet and helpful. Uliana and Carli working at lodge were super friendly and helped us with everything. Special thanks to Diogo, Miguel and Caetano for teaching us to surf. We have really enjoyed the stay and looking forward to come back soon.

It was a lovely friends and family run business. The instructors put a lot of thought into the lessons in choosing the best spot for the day to surf meaning I saw a variety of beaches in the area.

The lodge is very cozy and the stuff friendly and cool.They all make you feel like you're just living in a house with your friends.

We did a barbeque together one night and in another one of the guys cooked for all of us.

They also took us to a super nice tour of the Sintra reservation, Cabo da Roca and Sintra.

Also the surf instructors were super helpful, friendly and fun.The fact that they explain everything with patience ,help you practice and learn each step and give you constant feedback makes them very fit for every level of knowledge.

We loved every moment of the week spent at the lodge and hope to get back soon.
