Madeira New Wave

I am super satisfied having Andre or Carina as my surf instructors. They are really doing a good job, this includes also fototaking during the experience. Andre knows very well the different surf spots across the island and shares his thoughts about them. I had a comparable experience at the beach of Seixal from another surf school. They were just terrible!!! Do not go there. I won't say the name here, but better staying in Machico/Porto da cruz with New Wave Surf school. I can recommend them.

The hostel was awesome. Great people, lovely atmosphere and very social if you like. Delicious pizzas and burgers too!

I loved the surfing lessons! André is a wonderful teacher, very patient and constructive, helpful advice.

Incredible location and perfect waves!

Carina and André are very friendly and welcoming. Lessons are organized and tailored for everybody's skills. Andre was amazing at explaining mistakes and teaching. Carina was doing outstanding pictures!

Hostel is incredible and full of open-minded people. I highly recommend.

I had a great experience with Madeira New Wave! the surfing session were very well organised and fun and i improved my skills a lot! the whole team are great professionals and the atmosphere was great!

The best thing was definitely the professionalism of the instructors and at the same time their cool approach. Really made great progress and got hooked to surfing!

André were really structured and also gave everyone concrete feedback after every wave. They also make sure to take both beginners and intermediate to right spots at the right time of the day. More over all the staff were positive and made you feel both safe and welcomed.

This was the best surf school we’ve ever experienced. My son is an advanced surfer and even though they had many beginners, the instructors gave him excellent tuition above and beyond our expectations. I also received amazing bodyboarding coaching which I wasn’t expecting. We met Andre for one day and he was an amazing coach. We had Carina for the rest of the time and she was absolutely amazing too. She also took incredible photos of everyone and gave further tips to improve from the photos. Both in the water and out of the water coaching was spot on. Diogo was also a great coach and did some brilliant warm up sessions. All the coaches were friendly and we felt as if nothing was too much for them. Thank you Madeira New Wave.

The accommodation was very good value for money and Ruben and his team were absolutely excellent hosts. We couldn’t have asked for a better overall package. So much better than anything we’ve experienced in the past.

Everything was perfect ! I spent 5 extraordinary days with Madeira New Wave. Thanks to them, I was able to really improve my level of surfing. The teachers were able to give me the best recommendations and support me throughout my stay. A big thank you to André, Carina and Miguel, you really are the best

We had 5 days surfing with Madeira New Wave and they were amazing. We had a fantastic time with brilliant instructors. The adults and children all had excellent instruction with really helpful and friendly instructors who kept us safe at all times. They gave really useful feedback each day and organised everything really well to give us the best experience surfing. We would love to come back and surf again and can't recommend these guys enough they were absolutely amazing.

Die Stimmung im hostel und bei den Surfsessions war einfach mega cool!! Alle waren sehr nett und cool drauf. Ich würde madeira new wave sofort weiterempfehlen.

The instructor was Miguel, and he couldn't be a more thoughtful and specific teacher. Carina also provided excellent tips from the beach, along with great photos. Consistently 3 surfers with each coach, the best ratio I've experienced anywhere.

Thanks so much to the New Wave team, I felt my surfing really improve and had a lot of fun along the way!

The instructors are amazing not only in professional side but they are very generous people too. From the very first surf lesson I was able to stand on the board and catch a few waves. The accommodation was also excellent, we had everything we need in the kitchen.

I’ve been there for a week, but I feel like as a month. It was a total reset and feels like a part of me stayed there, waiting to be picked up soon 😅

Madeira is absolutely beautiful and special.

I spent a week in Porto da Cruz with 2 friends, staying at Jaca Hostel and surfing with Madeira New Wave, had a brilliant time everything was fab! Carina, André and Miguel were great, learnt a lot and had a laugh aswell! If you wanna surf, hang out with new people and generally have a good time, this is the place to be 😊

The whole Surfcamp was absolutely excellent! I will recommend this to everyone who is asking for a fun, challenging and entertaining Holliday.

Madeira New Wave was the best choice. Carina, Andre and Miguel are doing an excellent job. Super organised, safe, fun and we’ve learnt a bunch as surf beginners. Can’t wait to go surfing again soon. Also, the MoRe guest house in Machico is super cosy place to stay. Don’t think twice, book it now and enjoy the surf. 🤙

I attended the surf camp while staying at jaca hostel. Carina was super helpful and made the transfers, accommodation and surf lessons go very smooth. I had Miguel as surf instructor and learned a lot of fun. They both are such kind people and fun to be around. All in all it was a super nice experience!

Great experience with amazing instructors and crew in whole. Easy and pleasant communication also very flexible, helped us a lot with organizing other non surfing activities during our stay. I would recommend them to everyone.

The accommodation was really nice and really close to the beach. We especially enjoyed our surf lessons with small groups and great feedback. We had a great stay and will come back for sure!

We absolutely recommend Madeira New Wave and MoRe house for your adventure in Madeira. The housing is excellent, clean, great location and the host Ruben is very helpful and the nicest person.

The Surf school is the epitome of profesionalisam. There is always enough instructors for the group of people, i don't think we were more than 2-3 people per instructor during all leasons. They choose beaches with ideal conditions and we felt very safe at all times . Obviously the surfing itself was extremely fun! Moreover, Andre, Carina, Daniel and the rest are good, friendly, fun people so we all together enjoyed poncha/beer after surf lessons.

Don't dwell too much, book and let these amazing people give you an amazing experience.

My friend and I went on this trip, and we have never surfed before. It was unbelievable how André and Carina taught us in such a short time to actually get on the surfboard. We had such an incredibly fun week, we already miss it <3 Lots of love.

We had the best time ever thanks to André, Carina and João. Everything was super easy and the communication was really fast too. The guesthouse they found for us is simply the best we’ve ever stayed in: Ruben is the kindest and most helpful of hosts. We enjoyed the surfing too and made lots of progress. We’ll come back for sure!

Carina and Andre made everything possible we asked for. Uncomplicated and two of the nicest people we have ever met! If you have to choose a camp go there:)

Our whole experience was so stress-free and enjoyable. From organising stuff beforehand over WhatsApp to having the wetsuits and boards prepared daily for us.

Following arrival at Jaca hostel it was really easy to get our keys and find our bed, the relaxed surf vibe was self-evident from the start whilst everything remained clean and well designed. Others staying in the hostel were lovely and social too.

The next morning was our first lesson and the transfer to the beach was on time and right outside the hostel. This is where we first met Carina - such a knowledgeable, caring and funny lead for our trip.

The first surf had been picked out expertly for all abilities in the group, so that there was something for everyone. The other sessions were similar switching between Algoa beach right next to the hostel and Machico.

The wetsuits and boards were all prepared for us as we arrived and all the instructors could speak good English, had impeccable surfing and teaching skills but also managed to ensure the whole group was having fun.

After each lesson we'd go for a beer and share stories and weird cultural quirks from our respective countries.

Would 100% recommend for anyone looking to have an action packed, social surfing experience.

Very helpful instructors for complete beginners. Extremely easy transfers to and from the beach each day directly to the door of our accommodation made the whole experience easy and stress free. Couldn’t have asked for more

The hostel and its personal was excellent.

The surf instructors was and knowledgeable and really nice people.

The teachers are super kind and really care about your learning and having fun. They put in work finding the best conditions for the group every day and so one can experience different Surfspots around Porto da Cruz and machico. Also it has never been more than 3 to 4 people per teacher, which is way better than at the other schools around which always have courses in huge groups.

I'd never stood on a surf before and I can only recommend. With help of Vitor, Carina and Carolina I managed to stand up and enjoyed the surfing to its fullest. I am hoping to return some day for more lessons. It's really an awesome feeling. Thank you guys!
