Location and the owner /hostel vibes are fantasic.

Awsome atmosphere at the hostel - all hikers, some surfers, no weird people. Great location in the nature. Great people - volunteers at the hostel, owner, other travellers...

Staying in the Hostel on the hill is amazing: it feels like home, you have everything you can need and Martijn the host take care of everything. Surf lessons are exciting, each last 3h so you have enough time to practice and improve and teachers are very professional.

Gastgeber Martijn ist ursympathisch und kennt sich aus - mit der Gegend, Aktivitäten und kunstvollen Tattoos. Der nächste Strand (ein Traum!) ist 20 Minuten Fußweg entfernt, die nächste Bar (mit Live-Musik) 20 Meter.

Super sweet and comfy hostel, very chill vibe. Perfect for solo travelers! Host Martijn is very cool and knows all about the place, activities or very cool tattoos.

You can reach the next beach in 20 minutes, and there is also a bar with live musik in the street next to the hostel.

very cozy hostel with a lovely view and nice spots in the garden! We enjoyed our stay and met a lot of nice people - both surfers and hikers. The host was very friendly and informative! We would like to come back:D

Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und im Hostel herrscht eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, sodass man sich automatisch wohl bzw. wie zu Hause fühlt. Das Hostel ist absolut empfehlenswert! Der Hostelinhaber ist eine äußerst freundliche und hilfsbereite Person. Darüber hinaus weiß er, wie man auf jeden Gast eingeht, zumindest hatte ich diesen Eindruck.

The surf instructor spoke good English, was laid back and jovial, attentive and you immediately got the feeling he knows what he is doing.

I had a lot of fun learning to stay on the board!

The atmosphere in the hostel was also relaxed and friendly, the hosts are amicable and easy-going, the place is clean and homely. Can wholeheartedly recommend!

All. The hostel was amazing, food, people and location are perfect for being in nature, relaxing and meeting wonderful people. We rented a car at the airport to get the hostel and drive around hills, towns and beaches, I think that was the best choice to experience the holiday with comfort.

Surfing lessons wrecked my body but feed my mood, so much fun.

Firstly, the hostel itself was fantastic. It was incredibly clean and had all the necessary amenities one could ask for. The house had everything we needed, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Additionally, its location in a quiet area ensured peaceful nights, allowing us to rest and recharge after a day of activities.

The owner of the hostel deserves special mention as he was extremely nice, friendly, and always ready to help. He promptly responded to all my messages and emails, ensuring that any queries or concerns were addressed without delay. His assistance was invaluable throughout my stay, making us feel well taken care of.

However, I would suggest having a car if you plan on staying at this hostel. While the location is serene and tranquil, it is worth noting that the nearest shops are approximately a 30-minute walk away. Having a car would provide more convenience in terms of accessing amenities and exploring the surrounding areas.

Now onto the surfing experience! Every day we had a new beach. Despite sometimes unfavorable weather conditions, the surfing courses continued as planned. The staff at the surfing school went above and beyond by carefully selecting locations with optimal conditions for surfing. instructor was exceptional in his attentiveness and guidance. His expertise and dedication made each lesson informative and enjoyable. Throughout the five days of surfing, we were surrounded by a friendly group, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter

Das Hostel ist ein super gemütlicher Ort mit einem total tollen urigen Garten zum verweilen. Ein schöner Frühstücksbalkon zur Ostseite hin. Martijn und Talea waren sehr herzlich und haben sich um ihre Gäste sehr gut bemüht. Allein für die Atmosphäre hier würde ich das Hostel in jedem Fall weiter empfehlen! Auch sehr toll ist, dass zwei Minuten entfernt eine angesagte Bar/Restaurant liegt, welche sehr häufig Events mit live Musik oder Trödelmärkte anbietet!

The host was the coolest and chillest guy I’ve met. He picked me up from the bus stop and brought me to the hostel himself. The hostel had a nice and relaxed vibe to it, where you could roam in and out and around as you'd like. There was no problem staying at the dorm with the other guests, and the volunteers at the hostel were kind and helpful and made a tasty breakfast. I met lovely people, slept like a child, and had a great time surfing during the day! I also recommend the Favo restaurant which was just around the corner from the hostel, which served nice food and drinks. I had a great time at the hill!

The owner at Hostel On the Hill was the nicest ever! I celebrated my birthday there and he even got a little bday dessert for me! Super nice and friendly volunteers as well. The entire hostel is so nice and clean. If i could i would have stayed for a month straight!

And as for the surf camp, i had a great instructor who was very thorough. Super friendly company and made it such a fun few days.

Fantastisch hostel in de natuur, voelde me heel erg thuis, lekker ontbijt en ongedwongen sfeer, prachtige tuin en hele fijne, professionele surflessen met goede begeleiding en instructies!

So the hostel is really nice, its a big house and has everything you need. It is also in the middle of nowhere so if you are searching something quite in the wild area, thats for you! The owner is really nice and will help you when you need something.

The location, the beaches

They are very helpful kind and relaxed people. They will always help you. And very good atmosphere to relax and find peace.

I had 4 instructors Benjamin, Gabriel and sadly I don’t remember the name of the other two but from all of them I learn a lot and the gave me really good tips honestly I felt that I improved a lot because of them. For sure I’m coming back for more lessons. Amazing experience.

It was a wonderful stay at <3 Hostel on the Hill <3. From the beginning I was thrilled and I felt very comfortable. The hosts are so friendly and so loving with their guests. It was a wonderful time and I would recommend it to anyone to vacation here. <3
